I'm so excited about this change. I came for triathlon taren, tuned in everyday for petey then kept on coming back for Taren!!! Thanks for everything :)
My coach is 70+ years old. He hasn’t competed in a triathlon in years but helps other people nonetheless. Stick with what makes you happy. Those who you have help will stick around and appreciate you. I appreciate you and the content on this channel. For the others, they have to make their own choice and do their own thing.
As a psychologist, I want to thank you for this. So important for someone to finally talk about the importance of having a sustainable lifestyle and not always having to give 100% in everything you do. It's not realistic and it's a harmful attitude to have. Thanks Taren. Much appreciated.
I agree, as Taren said a long time ago, talking about learner swimmers going flat out "slow the f***k down", feel the water and work on the skills, not just struggle.
I first discovered you in 2017 when, at 46 and pretty much a couch potato, I was training for my first Sprint. It felt so overwhelming and almost ridiculous to think that I could do it. But I was attracted by your "every man" approach to training and racing. I think I watched every one of your videos and learned so much. I placed second in the novice division at that race, and was hooked. I am a middle-aged mom with a full time job and a family. I do this for fun, health, and balance. So Taren... you are speaking my language. I am happy to see this change and evolution to your channel. Stay true. I have nothing but respect for you.
6 years ago, at the ripe age of 45 years old, I started my first triathlon, a super sprint with a swim in a tiny pool. I got hooked immediately to the sport. I found Taren on TH-cam and he was creating contents for beginners at the time. I LOVED him immediately. I learned so much in all 3 disciplines. I would never missed his videos, they were my best motivation times. As Taren, I gradually became better and better, selected for AG national championship, then AWA silver, then 7th AG at 70.3. Our ascents paralleled. I looked the part, FIT and trimmed. But I eventually found out that FIT doesn’t mean HEALTHY. My guts were in shambles from guzzling tons of maltodexrin, gels, bars, gummies, all this sugar. My joints started to hurt constantly, I blew my meniscus, had surgery, then neck pain, hip pain, shoulder pain. All caused by chronic low grade inflammation. Taren started to suffer as well. But we kept going because that’s what triathletes do. They are tough, they push, they grinds. They gotta be strong. The year before I turned 50, I decided to do a marathon. The toll it took on my hormones threw me into menopause. Boom! After that, I decided to LEARN NUTRITION. And just like Taren, it’s been a delicate balance between, pursuing an demanding sport and restoring health to a beat up body. As of today, as I am preparing for my LAST 70.3 (Memphis), I am retiring after that. My health comes first. Bye bye long distance triathlon, hello strength training. I am happy for Taren. Life is a continuum and his emotional intelligence carries him in the right direction. I will always love triathlon and will always take pleasure in following the pros and their adventures. I will follow Taren wherever he goes because he has passion and sincerity. See ya Taren! Yours in health.
After the whole pandemic I feel exactly the same way. Its really hard to commit to peak fitness, have a life/family and excel with your business goals all at the same time. Its not possible. Will definitely keep watching your content and looking forward to support your upcoming projects!
Appreciate your words, Taren and am excited for the path you’re on. You make a difference in the endurance community and you’re just getting started. Sending good vibes to you, NTK, Pete and Grace with the upcoming move. See ya when you return 🤙
This sounds like the Taren I first discovered - the one who was focused on the amateur triathlete trying to balance life and training. No more super expensive bikes, swim spas 95% of us can’t afford, product pitches and back to the science of getting yourself in shape and getting to the finish line feeling comfortable and successful. Ps: keep the trainiac I think that is something that gives amateurs a since of belonging to something. Team trainiac. We are more like training fanatics not maniacs.
I agree! I actually had unsubscribed this past year because I didn’t feel like what he was promoting was for me. I’m excited for balance and health to be the focus again
I like the trainiac as well training doesn't have to be all endurance. Train your body and mind..... train yourself to eat right. Train your body to sleep well. yoga and mediation are forms of training... none of these are negative Keep it its your trademark and I like it
Dude you will always be Triathlon Taren! I have loved the content that you have put on here. Whether it was your training or racing or your day to day struggles with triathlon and life. You have helped me and countless others get through tough times! Thanks for everything that you have done!
I’m happy to see you make this decision. Personally for me I started watching you because of Triathlon, even pushing me to complete my first IM70.3 but I stayed for your general tips, help and advice across the board. Whether it was taking advice for my mental health, diet/ nutrition, or even tips for heart rate training. I can see from the comments that you will be continued to be supported and I’m looking forward to where this channel goes. Enjoy your well deserved time off!
We’re born to evolve. Happy to see you’re growing in line with your values and beliefs. Wishing you well with your next phase. I’ll remain on board and support you as you and the community continue to grow.
Hi Taren, I have a confession of my own. I’ve watched your channel off and on for 6 years. I’ve never wanted to do a triathlon and I don’t care about the pro results. I can’t swim beyond ‘not quite dying’ in a pool and I’m a horrible runner. I love cycling though. I enjoyed watching a guy as enthusiastic as I am about my endurance sport in an amateur way. It was also cool to get a glimpse into things I don’t know about - early morning swimming pool training and Canadian winter training. And you have a great style on camera. An overuse injury and maybe just getting (a little) older has made me more interested in balance and overall health too. I’m excited for this change in direction. But for me there’ll still be loads of cycling and occasional bouts of horrible running. I hope you take us on your adventures too and share things outside our normal. Best of luck with the move and the changes. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come.
This channel helped me in the beginning of my running. First take away was HR Zone2 training. Learning this for myself was a game changer. And now I’ve helped others with their running with those lessons. Thank you. Forever follower dude.
I never saw “Trainiacs” as training like “maniacs” meaning just going all out all the time. I saw it as being maniacs for training for triathlons because doing a triathlon is crazy enough. “Trainiacs” keeps it light and fun and obviously there’s the serious part of it too. You have some good stuff on this channel. But it’s great that you’re transitioning. Wishing you the best. Looking forward to you future content. God bless. 🙏
Hi Taren I have been following you since I started triathlons at 58 yrs old. You have been both informative and inspirational. Now 62, with 14 triathlons and all distances done. Agreed that balance and the sense of adventure needs to be present for us to enjoy life. No issues with your transition, it mirrors my own transitions and understanding. Good luck with the changes, the business choices and the health choices. And thank you for just being Taren. Being authentic and focused on being well and helping others works for me, and I suspect many of your followers. Pierre
Just so you know Taren. I found you when I first got into Tris back in late 2018. You're advice has helped me. This past weekend I finished my Second 70.3 which was Worlds in St. G. You had a helping hand in that. So thank you for that and good luck on the move!
I like Trainer Taren…on a side note….@taren, do you man, growth is what the journey of life is about! I am so thrilled and excited to see what you bring to the table. I’m sure it’s gonna be superb as usual and will definitely stay tuned to see what comes next. Very impressed with your transparency on everything!
Good for you man. You helped me a ton in training for my first ironman race. You have been a constant source of inspiration and information. Appreciate you a ton man thank you.
I think you are the most balanced individual in that you look at the whole picture.. I've never been able to train like a maniac but with your help I completed a 70.3 this year and it was my first tri-event of my life. I have you to thank for this, as you gave me motivation, structure and somewhere to go when I needed a lift.. and that won't change.. I think sensible ideas on training and health are going to stand the course of time.. and getting nearer to 50, I want to preserve the things that work and enjoy entering endurance events that excite and challenge me without feeling like the training is a ball and chain, dragging me down all the time... Good luck Taren...and see you in a few weeks...
I'm 51 and I just started training and found your channel about 2 months ago. It's been very helpful, I bought your swimming book too. It's really fantastic that you're willing to not be typecast in the midst of success. Be yourself, man! I will absolutely continue watching and reading your stuff. Thanks for sharing so much. - Bob
The content you're putting out is great and I'm totally onboard with the new direction! I still like the Trainiacs brand though, and hope you keep it - it brings a sense of community to your viewers who ultimately, are still very passionate about their training even if that's with a focus shifted more toward overall balance!
Just one thing, your Trainiacs branding still stands. Even if we don't train like trainiacs... to others (real world / people) we are Traininacs and I liked that branding. I am so on board with the balanced life / health/ training. Enjoy your break, move, settling in. Can't wait to the `` Welcome to our new crib`` video!
Totally respect your decision to change your thought process. Total health is super important. Your videos helped me get through my first ever sprint triathlon & actually did pretty well! Good luck with the move and the new direction!
I've been a subscriber since year 2. A Team Trainiac member for 3 years and a mymottiv ambassador since inception - I am in it for the long haul and believe in your process. thank you for everything and full speed ahead - let's fuggin' go !!!!
Thanks for all the k spiration you e provided to me. You helped me train and compete in several sprints. It was lots of fun, but I have also made a transition to a balanced life. I still ride, run, and swim as part of my exercise regiment. But no longer beating the hell out of my body to cut times and hit PRs. Thanks again - I will continue following your journey!
As a recent subscriber to your channel, I’m a bit surprised by the “sudden” change. That said, I really enjoy the content. I landed on your channel a couple of weeks ago when looking for content (advice) on zone-2 training for running. Despite my 58 years of life, and 30+ years of physical fitness, this zone-2 thing was completely new to me. After watching your videos on the subject, I’ve incorporated it into my running and it’s had a positive impact. Best of luck with the new channel, I’ll be sure to follow
Thanks so much for this post - excited to see where you go with this channel and your fitness community. I hope that you will continue to post good content based on good information - but also things to encourage people to go out and exercise for the fun and wonder of it all. It's easy to forget (especially in the triathlon community) that exercise takes us interesting places and gives us friends and community and supports us in so many more ways than the number of seconds it takes to accomplish a task. There is so much more to fitness than just being the best and I hope that you can encourage people to go out and have some fun.
Taren, I welcome this change so much and it aligns with the exact process I'm going through myself. I went from being a passionate traniac putting racing on top of my priority list and changed my attitude exactly like you did. I went back to school, have my full time job and family. I don't stress out over my workout routine anymore but just enjoy what I'm doing and the goal is refining techniques and staying mentally healthy. I'm glad you are getting out of the cage of triathlons. I'm right there with you. Did my first Mountain bike race this year and loved it and the next race will be a gravel race. Taren, I'm a big fan and look forward to your new chapter. I want to see your business take off!
I certainly don‘t unsubscribe. As an ambitious endurance athlete I‘m very much Interesses in doing it healthily as I wan‘t keep doing it for many more years to come. I think you found the right way and you will have a huge following going this direction. I love ist listening and watching your content. Thank you so much. 😊
I honestly came across this channel because I was looking for advice on how to train using heart rate, not because I was interested in triathlons. I understand that most of my life I've been rather sedentary, and while some people might be "maniacs" who want to turn their lives upside down and prove to the world they're still fit and strong, I, on the other hand, I'm happy that I was able to quit smoking and can control my weight a little better. I understand that training too much also raises my cortisol and it's a very difficult balance to keep when you have a regular working life. I'll do what I can and enjoy the journey. Thanks for the content you've put out there so far. Looking forward to see what this new development will have to teach me.
I really like the change. I'm someone who works 55+ hours a week on weird schedules in a fairly physical job. The trainiac idea isn't one that resonated with me. I came here for advice on techniques and equipment and race prep but I made my training plans up myself to balance my time and ability. I started watching your page in mid 2018 since then I did my first Olympic that August, 70.3 Atlantic City that September, while I was still in college competing in Crew and swimming. Now I'm going to try to just finish my first Ironman in a couple of weeks at age 23. Finding the Triathlon balance is super important for so many people myself included and I appreciate that you could help me with that in my future. Triathlon for me is about my mental health. I could never really be a training where it was my whole life. I go run or bike when I'm upset or depressed or whatever. It makes me and probably most of your fans very happy to see you doing what's right for you instead of saying or doing what we want to hear. Good luck!
Your new focus is spot on to what I've learned in the past years about how healthy(or not) endurance sports can be. I made that all-or-nothing sacrifice for years, raced successfully, but was usually injured, and exhausted trying to do it all and have a life outside sport. Good for you - I'll look forward to more of your content.
Massive respect. Your content now is much better because of the balance you are now offering. As a newer content creator and coach I will follow even closer.
Just wanted to say I followed your swimming foundations program and and happy to be racing my first 70.3 on Sunday in Augusta GA! I’ve watched so many of your videos like so many other ppl so you have already helped ppl achieve their goals. You have to do what’s best for you! Good luck and look forward to see what you have in the future!
Im a 63 year old man with type 2 diabetes, ive enjoyed learning about triathlons, ive learnt to swim, my first triathlon will be next year. I have signed up for an Olympic tri with a river start, you are the go to man, i look forward to your new channel.
"Balance is key", so he's completely changing the entire format of his channel after 6 years? Doesn't sound like "balance" to me. Sounds like radical change, take it or leave it.
I started watching years ago when I begun my triathlon journey. Your videos were instrumental in helping me with swim, bike, run. That being said, I'm glad that you're following your passions and not letting names or labels fence you in. I appreciate your honesty and your content and will always keep coming back. All the best Taren!
Thank you! I really enjoyed your videos while I was teaching myself to swim a few years back. I wasn’t training for a triathlon or even to race, just to swim for fitness. I really appreciated your style and ability to share information. Thank you! I will continue to watch your videos.
“Trainer Taren” describes what you mean to many of us. You are a really good presenter. I am 61 and started getting into endurance sports 3 years ago for fitness and to raise money for charity. I started with cycling and GCN became my go to channel. Then in late 2019 I decided to try running and to get back into swimming. Along with GTN and a few other channels I quickly found Triathlon Taren. Your advice coupled with the raw ups and downs of endurance sports has been very helpful. My 2021 goal is to raise £4000 for Alzheimer’s Society and this summer I completed a 215km one day bike ride, my first ever triathlon (London, Olympic distance), my first 1/2 marathon, my first 2 mile swim and on 3rd Oct will take part in my first London Marathon. They have all been hard, but rewarding. Thanks for helping me build the fitness and the confidence to have a go. Look forward to the new direction for your channel.
I never usually comment on TH-cam but felt I had to say something. Good for you. I've been watching you on and off for 4+ years and you've helped me finish my first sprint triathlons but you've also helped my cycling and swimming and general fitness and health. I'm pleased you'll continue as I feel you have a lot to offer others and I'll definitely stick around. All the best with the move and with the next phase of Just Taren 😊
I met you at AC 70.3 and got to thank you personally for all your help in getting me through my races. I am now on the same course - “retired “ from races and doing mostly riding and other healthy activities, maintaining a balanced lifestyle. I salute you Sir for all your help! Good Luck with this next phase in your evolution!
I started training as a way to get healthy after too many years ignoring my health. Triathlon training was a means to that end and helped me stay focused. Your change is welcome and I look forward to broader scope of content. Love the channel and your passion!!
“Unsubscribe”? What is this “unsubscribe”? You do you, Taren; plenty of us will still be here. I’ve been waiting 20 years to hear the push towards balanced health over laser focus on endurance!
I'm going nowhere, brother. People buy in to people not a channel name or what it began as. You have evolved and that's amazing. I'm on board all the way. Love what you stand for and the person you are. Keep smashing it.
I found this channel researching training for my very first sprint at 57 years. I liked the vibe and straight forward approach to Triathalon, this new approach made me subscribe. Looking forward to taking the journey with the new style.
No apology necessary. I’m subscribed for the authenticity in your content. You allowing the shift in the content illustrates that you aren’t a slave to sponsors and so will never have an ulterior agenda and can be trusted. Thank you so much, keep it up!!!
Dude just keep all your videos out there, because I wach some of those for 5-6 times and I'm happy and grateful. I don't know... I like listening to you. You r like family, like from my planet. Plus I find you super informative and simple at the same time. No drags. Just that. Peace!
Awesome ! Sounds like you “ grew” up . I am new to the world of triathlon and one thing thing that was striking is the hyper competitiveness . I am doing this for fun and recreation , and while getting faster is so tempting , it has a price. I want to be the balanced mid-packer , enjoying the sport for a long time . Good luck with your journey mate 👍🏼
You're a good man Taren. Always felt you have the everyman approach to training. Never felt like you were forcing us to train like maniacs. Have a good break.
You've been a legend from day one mate, your videos have always been head and shoulders above the rest. Thanks for all the help and motivation you gave me to complete my 70.3. You rock 🤘
I love your channel Taren!! You have helped me so much as a beginner triathlete with all of your videos. I highly respect your position. I’ll continue to watch and support your channel. Keep it up Taren!!!
Taren, congratulations on your decision. You are absolutely on target with a well balanced strategy for life. I wish you great success! I am 80 years young. You have opened many new mental doors that have encouraged me to learn how to achieve more! Please stay focused.
Thank you Taren for those BIG, full of tips, advices and support 6,5 long years. Wishing you a further success I’m waiting for the new appearance. GOOD LUCK
The pandemic threw me for a loop. I joined a zwift racing team, and the monthly summer buzz I felt from doing a few triathlons a year has almost been eclipsed by the camaraderie I've gotten from doing weekly team time trials and zwift races. I have been able to add strength training, cut down on high impact running, and haven't had to risk my life going for a long bike ride in NYC. I don't know the next time I'll sign up for a triathlon because I'm currently getting fulfilled with all the zwift stuff I'm doing, but I'm also helping 5 coworkers train for their first half marathon. Happiness is a spectrum. Do what makes you happy at the time, and there are people that will be there with you.
I don’t watch you because you do or have competed. I watch for the information you provide. You helped me in my health and fitness. I haven’t done a Tri since 2019 and I still watch and will still watch.
Congratulations! I only found you recently, but LOVE this direction! I am a CrossFit coach and I have athletes that want to ALWAYS go so hard all of the time, and it's often challenging to convince them that without proper rest, recovery, and nutrition, we can only get so far, safely. I'm excited for so many people who view your channel to continue to learn from you and the idea that overall wellbeing doesn't have to be independent of being successful as an athlete! I'm excited to see you THRIVE in this new position with a new mindset. The best part about the intersection of science and sport is that it makes athletics and coaching so much more fun and much more interesting! Enjoy the break, many of us will be here to learn and grow with you when you get back!
I confess to only watching a few of your videos but what you said today really struck a cord with me. Training since I was 15 (now 58) I’ve at last moved away from that constant punishment style of work and now follow a more balanced approach. Nicely said.
You’ve been there and done it. I get that. Nothing to apologise for. Enjoy your life as you wish to live it. Fully support you and will continue to do so.I’m currently doing a MAF block and not running and cycling under 130 bpm. I tell you what I’m loving it. Not sore after each workout and it’s the way forward for me.
You re on the right path Taren and I will continue to follow you even more … i have shared your vision since I started triathlon at my humble level at 50. First of all be balanced, healthy, full of energy and then triathlon and everything else comes easy … keep well.
I feel as if you have a sense of guilt from this natural transition from athlete->athlete/coach->coach!! This is a very organic way of learning teaching my man!! No need to be guilty at all! We are all here supporting you and thanking you for making us the athletes we are now! I can only hope to be as knowledgeable as you to one day be a good coach myself.
I'm approaching 60, I was training pretty hard a few years ago. Now, I like training, but not like crazy, just to stay in shape, I'm not really fussed about racing, but pleased to see my (mostly younger,) club mates doing well when they do. I see no problem with the way you have changed your emphasis, so, good luck, and I will keep watching :-)
I've learned over the years how impossible it is to coach, build a business, and compete. And it is so fulfilling to help others, that's why I coach. So, I wish you the best in your ventures. Keep on giving of you and all the great that you've learned (& taught to us). Thanks for all you do
I admire your stance and totally with you for the next chapter. I am an endurance amatuer from the UK about to do my first 70.3 next year. Im sticking with your channel
“No pain no gain” was disproven years ago. Sure, you’re going to sweat, and some of the time you’re going to so hard sessions. But most of the time it’s about building up that base that the huge efforts rely on. How can you train if you’re burnt out and unhealthy. Love this pivot. Keep it up. Will be sticking around.
Thanks for helping my mama and I train for our first sprint tri! My mama learned how to swim for the first time just for the Tri! We used your swim book and send your videos back and forth. Thanks for taking time to help us! Pumped about all the new content! Cheering y’all on!
You are spot on with many of us. After competitive training and competing, the last few years, my body is paying for it. Shoulder surgery, torn MCL, hernia and the list goes on. I'm ready to make that move as well. No time for relationships. Yeah, I'm done
You don't owe me anything. I owe you my thanks for providing your input into my triathlon journey. The thing about a journey is that sometimes it is nice to take a break or take a detour. All the best to you, NTK and your pooches :)
To be honest I signed up for the subject matter if the name but ended up staying for the content. Its refreshing to see someone looking at things from a different perspective. Best of luck with the new venture, I'll be sticking around anyway.
Is Harrison Ford best enjoyed as Indiana Jones or Han Solo? Doesn't matter because they are both really bad-ass. I'm sure you will bring the same charisma and energy to this new format as you did to Triathlon Taren. I am excited to see the new content and hopefully we will still be able to pull up the old videos. I binge on those when I need motivation. They always made this amateur feel a part of the triathlete family every bit as much as sitting in transition or in a tent after a race and visiting with fellow triathletes. It's the fellowship for me. That's why I keep coming back. Nothing but love for you and NTK and I wish you much success in this new venture.
No need to apologize. EVERYTHING has its place. My journey has taken me from mid distance triathlons > body building > healthy living > triathlon. I learned so much from lifting, and just diving into studies, books, podcasts about health that I don’t spend every workout suffering anymore. You were the first person I watched that actually talked about not turning yourself inside out every training session. I keep watching your content because you’re real and you’re constantly growing. Enjoy the break. Look forward to continuing to watch you grow.
Enjoy your time off. You have given us a plethora of information about endurance sports and I appreciate that! I hope to do my first run marathon soon and eventually a longer triathlon.
Your content is tremendous and I don't care what it covers. I applaud you for recognizing when a change was needed and for having the courage to follow through. It's another good lesson for your audience.
You should absolutely NOT have to apologise for growth, development, progression and learning. Your content is informative, researched and well presented. Thank you for demonstrating in your recent and ongoing content that just because something has been done a certain way doesn’t mean it should always be done that way, particularly when there are things that have been learnt, adapted and moved forwards with new knowledge and insight.
Taren! Your authentic journey is inspiring. I’m on a very similar path. So refreshing that you can speak words out of your mouth that I feel in my heart.
Congrats brother. When I first started cycling about 9 years ago it was all about trying be faster and being first on a climb. I still love pushing myself, and others, but there has to be a balance. After going low carb about 6 years ago, my journey into nutrition and overall health really began. Pushing the limits all the time is not good for the human body. I will, for sure, keep on following.
Transitioning to a better life for you and your family is what counts! My self being a dad of 4 definitely support the push to a more balanced life managing priorities! keep it up and I'll stick with you through the ride!
I’m honestly excited for the change. Especially working in the service industry hustling on my feet 40 hours a week, I don’t have the lifestyle where I can just suffer like hell then sit at a desk, then suffer like hell then sit at a desk. I’m stoked!!
I understand and total respect your decision. It's should always stay a passion and what a noble cause helping others. I love all your new TH-cam videos about zone 2 training, it's changed my life in sports. 💪🏼😎🤘🏼 Bravo
I don't usually comment, but I feel this is a great video you have made, as it reaches down to the basics of why most people get into triathlon and that is firstly to "get or improve" physical health and lifestyle. There will always be those who only thrive on the competitive aspect of a sport or game, as that is what they need to make it work for them. There is no wrong, just what is right for each person and I am sure all those who have watched your videos have learned a lot more from your content over the years than they realize. The comments below about not having to perform competitively to be a good role model, coach, motivator, all exemplify the value you have added to the endurance sport community. Change is inevitable. Keep up the good work and hope to run into you on the rainy west coast one day to say hi in person.
I truly respect ✊ you Taren. You are a true legend. I love your videos and watch them as soon as you upload them. Please keep up your great work. Thanks 🙏
Dude, the fact you even felt like you had to say something shows youre grateful to all those followers. Do your thing, people can choose themselves whether to watch. I'm sure you'll keep plenty and get whole new audience. Balance is definitely the way forward. I stumbled across your vids and they're so good - great resource. Look forward to anything you do on ultra trail 👍
Hi Taren.. Thank you for all that you have given us! I have learned so much from you and i have too peeled back my training as my hormonal and nervous system were destroyed. I feel so much better now, less stress in my life, better sleep and my libido is back!! Looking forward to continue to follow you on your new adventure
We will still follow you, with the pandemic we all are starting back slowly or are asking ourselves questions with what we really want or don't want anymore. Your channel is free btw so if they don't like it they can go somewhere else, you are a true genuine person that's what we like most about you anyways 😄
No betrayal here…just grateful for all you’ve done to help me be brave and jump into triathlons. Life is a journey. We learn as we go & are all in different seasons. So happy for you. Much respect!
Taren, I've been a long term watcher (probably for the last 4 years) and wish I could have supported you more. You've motivated me through my Sprint, oly, and soon half IM and you've taught me a great deal. Thank you for being there and for the content you produce. I'm happy for your new adventures and look forward to your return.
So Taren... you are speaking my language. I am happy to see this change and evolution to your channel. Stay true. I have nothing but respect for you.
Nah. Sounds boring to me. Trading in bike rides for talks on gut bacteria.
I love the direction you’re going. And love the honesty! You taught me how to breathe while swimming and I’ll forever be grateful.
Or maybe you got menopause because... you're 50 🤔
@@ironmantooltime lol, don't be rude. 🏃
@@luammerces2461 🤭🤟
I’m with you, my friend. I’m all for new adventures.
Something tells me product placements will still be a part going forward. TH-cam view revenue doesn't buy a home.
I agree! I actually had unsubscribed this past year because I didn’t feel like what he was promoting was for me. I’m excited for balance and health to be the focus again
I like the trainiac as well training doesn't have to be all endurance. Train your body and mind..... train yourself to eat right. Train your body to sleep well. yoga and mediation are forms of training... none of these are negative
Keep it its your trademark and I like it
Dude you will always be Triathlon Taren!
Hi Taren,
I have a confession of my own.
Congrats on the amazing evolution, Taren!! Way to trust yourself and listen to the heart :)
God bless. 🙏
I totally agree on your take on “Trainiacs.” No need for Taren to change names.
Agree 100% all of his branding has been taking advantage of catchy names.
Yeah same here.
I’m of the opinion
Once a Trainiac
Always a Trainiac
👍😑👍
I'm a Training fantatic not training maniac. Trainiac for life
Hi Taren I have been following you since I started triathlons at 58 yrs old.
You will continue to be my trainer, "Trainer Taren". You're awesome, I'm on board with the change.
Nope, "Trainiacs" branding is done. Taren was a danger, pushing us to smash our bodies into unhealthiness. He said so!
Totally respect your decision to change your thought process. Total health is super important. Your videos helped me get through my first ever sprint triathlon & actually did pretty well! Good luck with the move and the new direction!
Im 57, ive done a half and full marathon. I just did my first sprint triathlon. I appreciate all the info people like you put out here. Best wishes.
Been a runner/triathlete for 4 and half decades and completely support and like the content recently. Love it. Good information
About time "an influencer" tells it how it is. Balance is key! Especially for Mature & Amateur athletes. Easy days easy so the hard can be bard.
"Balance is key", so he's completely changing the entire format of his channel after 6 years?
Doesn't sound like "balance" to me. Sounds like radical change, take it or leave it.
Your honesty and tips have always been the reason I watch your content. Looking forward to whatever direction you go next.
Why not just have a "balanced" channel here he talks about both training and overall health?
@@JB-ti7bl I think the takeaway was supposed to be that’s exactly what his plan is going forward.
Thank you! I really enjoy all the advice and pointers you have given through your channel.
"Grew up"? Meh. Taren has one of these serious talks every few months, like he's our dad or a disappointed teacher.
I just tuned in and came across a few videos and now this. It's very genuine and awesome.
You're a good man Taren. Always felt you have the everyman approach to training. Never felt like you were forcing us to train like maniacs. Have a good break.
Sweat is now controversial.
GOOD LUCK
Love the authenticity and transparency. Excited for what’s next!
Thanks for all you do
You’ve evolved as an athlete - I think most people can appreciate that! Keep up the good work and stay positive 👊
What you say now reaches me a lot more then you said prior. Good job. Happy to see you grow! I’ll be there for the next chapter!
Thank you for so many great years. Still on board.
I just discovered your channel, currently following your training plan to complete my 1st sprint tri, thanks for all you do!!!!!!
Taren! Your authentic journey is inspiring. I’m on a very similar path. So refreshing that you can speak words out of your mouth that I feel in my heart.
Good on you for making a change as you see fit. Exciting to hear about your new channel. Thank you for all you've done to help triathletes.
Thanks for your contribution in my triathlon life! Looking forward to your upcoming contents!
