Does it need external power supply? I found someone selling one of these organs but in bad shape for what i saw from pictures, im just wondering if deserves to be restored
Yes, the Compact Duo needs its external "F/AR" unit, for power supply+reverb+amp. Or alternatively if you find a Farfisa TR-60 amplifier it has the same type of connector and performs the same functions as the external unit described above. I personally believe that any Compact Duo is worth "saving" and restoring.
Vintage Echo Room i will give it a try is dirt cheap so that won't be a problem, thing is im not sure how bad it is and i don't know if it cames with the F/AR unit, if not is it possible to make one?
@@pepe7drum there are some diy project on the web to make an "home-made" power supply unit for the Duo. I seem to remember a project that used a common home power supply (the kind you find in stores to be clear) with some modifications. Obviously this solves the problem of power supplies, reverb and preamp are to be considered separately.
Im learning to fix mine. They are so gnarly to fix and depending on how bad the shape is maybe even not fixable. The shop has a bunch lying around that are not able to get completed. The wires are hard to access and if the keys are missing some internal springs its super super hard and time consuming! I love restoring mine! Save if you can!
I want it!
i've just sold it on Reverb. Great machine!
@@theitalianmod yeah... It's great!
