By shutting off fuel access at the carb inlet, you also prevent possible dieseling. No?
Makes sense! I think that's the only way you'd get a backfire if spark is cut off... I also don't know what I'm talking about for the most part lol
Bro, I needed this video, but I went ahead and gave you a like and subscribed. It was well deserved. #EndWatcher
Awesome!!! Thank you friend!
My predator will not start until I turn it over about 20 times with full choke. Then any time you restart it you have to choke it what can I do to make it start like yours thanks jim
Well that means you arent getting enough fuel in one way or another. . Its likely the pilot jet inside the carb is getting gunked up. Or even that it needs to be bigger. Maybe even the idle is set too low? Id for sure take the carb off and the jets out and clean them.
@@americanboathead5390 it's brand new and has not even had it's first oil change yet
Oh jeeze.. it shouldnt need anything.. are you at a high elevation or is it really cold? Is air filter on? Thats weird. Maybe look into exchanging if possible.
@@americanboathead5390 when I got the 1816b skid steer I took air cleaner off , removed adjustment plugs . Jets were set at three and three and a half, I got it running pretty smooth at two turns out each. I am going to get rid of tiny garden tractor 🚜 battery and put in two 6 volt golf cart batteries, it seems to turn over to slow to start easy, what do you think,I appreciate all your thoughts. Thanks jim
Oh yeah faster is way better! Let me know how it goes if you dont mind!
where did you buy your diode shown in the video
This particular one came with the motor but they can be found on amazon!
@@americanboathead5390 i have the 670 predator i just picked it up and i was trying to see if it was on there but i didnt see it and i was trying to find it on the internet but couldnt find that exact one
I can't wait to see this in a mini boat
Any chance of getting in touch with you to purchase plans or get dimensions for your "model b" miniboat?!? Thx in advance for sny response.
Hey! If you Google "gumroad half craft" it will pop up!
Put in the protector motor. 670 was the outside voters regulater. I see how to hook it up. Put it in a 91 easy go golf course. Put it in a ninety one easy go golf court thank you for the help
That is cool!
How is the engine coming along?
In a boat yet?
It's in the boat and hooked to a u joint and a shaft and a propeller! Steering is close but untested... I need gas tank, switches, starter battery. The list goes on 😆 I hope to work on it this summer!
You’re Pro bro👍, where can I find the exhaust your running? L👀ks bad ass! Thanks D
Don't look too close! I cobbled some pipe off the original exhaust muffler and put theses harley pipes on that I found at the thrift store lol
Like sent!! Props for the super in depth and easy explanation bro. Question: where can I get the one way rectifier exactly like what you showed in the video? I've combed through many sites and can't seem to find that exact " voltage check valve".any thanks for any help!!
Thank you! I have no idea this one just came with it. I did a quick internet search and found some under "one way diode". The rectifier turns the AC current to DC so that should be quite easy to find. I actually need one for a pit bike I'm working on !
@@americanboathead5390 thanks for the reply. With a proper ignition the red wire from the rectifier/stator can also tie straight to the starter. Working great so far..
Great video, thanks!! 💯👍👍
Of course!
What boat are you going to power with the motor, or are you designing a new boat all together? I like the roar!!
If you looked at some of my older videos, it the dark brown "two seater" twin motor one
I'm just amused that his neighbors are thinking he bought himself a panhead or a bagger, but instead, it's a floater! LOL
Omg, there's yer boat name. "Floater"
Are you going to drop that bad boy in one of those little boats? That would be freaking awesome!!!
Its in one (videos are up) but i havent had much progress for a good while.. sadly been working too much. You should check it out and see what you think though!
Awesome video!Thank you
You could add a warning light to the low oil sensor so you can see that there is a problem when the light stays on
That's a good idea! I haven't cut the wire yet either!
Great job!! You explained that well .Just brought a 670 from the Chinese embassy. Doing a rebuild on a max 11 - 6 wheeler.
Are you pleased with this motor?
I understand it doesn't have much for a charging system? Other than that I heard it was a pretty decent motor? And yes ,I Hit the subscribe button 👍
Looking forward to checking out More of your content!!
I haven't really used it under load yet but I'm hoping it has good torque! It sure sounds nice! A tad heavy but maybe that means more durable? Thank you for watching friend!
Where did you get that diode?
I have no idea! It didnt come with the motor and is not needed. The rectifier performs the same function!
That's going to be a blast!
#endbraapper
New hashtag!!!
I have one and both black and red are gounded what is wrong with my 670
Red should not be grounded
@@americanboathead5390 I can unplug the coils and the coils are grounded am is getting spark but no start
@@americanboathead5390 sorry at the kill wires go
If you pull the spark plug ,put it in wire boot and touch it to metal there should be a spark when you crank it. If there is spark and it still doesnt run, then you arent getting fuel
If i unplug the coils it will run so don't know if diode is bad thanks where the kill wires go are gounded if unplug
Dude, it's been a while since you gave us a video. Speaking for myself, i miss you dude. I just hope you are doing ok.
Thanks friend! I've been distracted from working on boats for a bit. I should just go on a cruise and film it!
@@americanboathead5390 boat ride with you , hell yes! thanks for keepin in touch. all good here.
@@americanboathead5390 just came here to check on you as well. Been looking for a new video. Glad you're good!
@@americanboathead5390 your videos are cool. i would watch em if there wasn't a boat involved. you got that it thing going on. stay cool.
Im building a miniature k5 blazer on a fourwheeler hahaha
This is getting hard to read. is there a way we can message directly? I also want to draw a schematic to make others lives easier as well as add a few pics I took
Americanboathead@gmail.com would work or you could try the fb messenger thingie
Brilliant placement of the lavalier microphone!
Switch controlled Juiciness and fried rectum. Wrecked him hell! Damn near killed him!
I love the dinner gong at the end.

I can hardly wait to see this thing out on the water. It's either gonna be so cool it's scary, or so scary it's cool. 😃
Can't wait to see it run on the boat when do you anticipate on running it on the water?
I could tell you.. but then I'd have to disappoint you! Lol sadly not till next summer I'd guess
This is a great video
Thank you!
Got withdrawals. Think I was going to start getting the shakes/twitches. Took the motor and wiring off boat #2 and going to cut the boat up for the dumpster today. Weather is breaking and wife wants the space. I guess I didn't finish the build in time.
The beauty is, you can easily make another better one when the timing is better! I'm thinking of trashing one of mine to free up space! Maybe drop it off a house or something and see how strong it is
You were right that was neat.

Neat!!!

I AM ......American Boathead video hungry 😊
Thank you!
It's important to note the rectifier has the diode built into it. Took a lot of research to figure that one out. Adding another one is redundant.
Really? I wonder why it's there... maybe it is hooked up wrong?
I'm also going to try doing away with the fuel solenoid tomorrow since mine apparently isn't working anyhow. I'll keep you posted
@@americanboathead5390 No idea. I have a couple of these engines and none have the diode. I'll post the rectifier part number later to compare with yours.
Took out the fuel solenoid and I'm going to fire it up in a little while. I pulled it out took out the spring and the plunger then screwed it back in. It pretty much sucked because I had to tear the engine apart to get to it. I took a picture of it for reference if you want a copy. Sorry it took so long to respond but life got in my way.
Oh yeah. I would never have figured the solenoid issue if it weren't for your video. Can't thank you enough!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@americanboathead5390 glade to hear
I really miss working on my(5 years into the build) jet boat. But a year ago my neighbors tree destroyed my garage and put holes in my boat. Insurance is screwing me and only paying out half of what it’s going to cost to rebuild. Learn from my mistake, make sure you policy covers 100% rebuild of out buildings.
That's tough! I've had the same thing happen to my jeep Cherokee! Is the engine and pump still good?
