I could listen to Mr Sharp for hours what a amazing life. He tales these stories with clarity , detail and humbleness. And Otis you never get in the way you just fluidly pull these incredible stories out of these extraordinary musicians. Thank You both.

In 1978, my college roommate had just arrived from Nigeria and proclaimed his favorite kind of music was High Life, but we wouldn't know what it was because we would never have heard it. One night, I played Live Dead and when Turn On Your Love Light came on, he broke into my room screaming, "where did you get this High Life music? This is explosive!" I took him and his brother to see the Dead when they came to town and they destroyed their seats.

What a fantastic video. I worked for a company called Express Sound in Costa Mesa CA and we put together - with Randy Ezratty, the sound engineer on this project - the recording system that was shipped to Africa. It was such a cool experience for me to be a tiny part of it. I remember cutting a Sound Workshop mixing console into three pieces so it would fit in cases and the airline container, hearing "well, there goes the warranty" from several folks. I never really heard much about the actual recording so hearing Todd Sharp's recollection is just great. Thanks for this!

That Mick Fleetwood album, THE VISITOR, is all over the place musically, but does have 3 very interesting & worthwhile "African-influenced" tracks. I still listen to "Superbrains" a lot. Great interview - thanks for sharing.

Admittedly I’ve only seen a handful of these videos, but this is my favorite so far by far!!!! Fantastic story, and its great to hear Todd talking about the high quality of musicians who are unknown to most of the world. That can often be so overlooked. I remember when the album The Visitor was released but I never heard it. Definitely going to check it out now.

I grew up on FMac too. All the blues stuff and Rumors and otherwise up until Tusk. Bob Welch solo was one of my favorites too. I bought the Caljam 2 8track in 1977 (8). Also, had the film from it and saw it “live” on the TV. This is such great stuff. Also, my second “concert” was Hall and Oates at Six Flags over Ga. Next time I’m in Nashville, I wanna talk with Todd about a portable acoustic amp. I’m outfitted in every way imaginable, except for that one thing, for mandolin and guitar. I’d love to be able to replace my heavy-ish acoustic amp with an amp made for my needs. Thanks Otis yet again.

I am enjoying this interviews. The one with Rod and mention of Lon John, was fun to hear too. However, I should of zigged but I zagged. In early 70's I could of gone anywhere. I was young and my folks died young, siblings all older than me and had family-so I set out. I went to FLORIDA . California was the first thought, London the second...Oh well. Thanks for the memories

Mick Fleetwood's " The Visitor " is a fantastic record! A couple years later Paul Simon would use the same concept with " Graceland" to great critical and commercial success. Of course Mick's album sold peanuts.
