I like the idea behind Haru's persona true awakening and the meaning behind it. A woman can appear to be both kind and gentle, but if you look beneath the surface there is a fierce and dangerous thing laying there just waiting to be brought out and shown to the world.

Haru was an instant favorite for me because I am a huge fan of the three musketeers. She dresses like a musketeer and her persona is that book’s main villainess
I honestly think Haru has the best awakening. Everything about this scene is really good and I love how her persona is introduced with the shot of all the guns.
I just noticed something, all of the male awakenings were painful but the female's were short and straight to the point. Akira slowly pulled his mask off, Ryuiji's mask covered 70% of his face and you saw all the blood on it from how he screamed in terror, and Yusuke's was so painful he dug his nails and fingers into the ground, tearing them up. Meanwhile Ann as bolted down and just accepted it outright, Makoto's was very quick and sudden, and then Futaba and Haru accepted their shadows like P4 users. No blood was scene when it came to the females and theirs was quick and sudden compared to the males.
Netherwolf6100 Makoto's had blood it just quickly moved away, as did Ann. Haru already awakened, this is her fully accepting her Persona and her 'rebellious heart' allowing Milady to show off her dakka. And Futaba was snatched away like an alien abduction.
They all did have blood but I think they didn't enjoy animating women in pain or at least thought that the audience wouldn't. Also I noticed there was really no female villains in the game. Sae kinda but she wasn't really evil. It didn't hinder my enjoyment too much but it was an odd thing to note.
It's funny how you mention that, because I was just thinking something along those lines. In all honesty, I think that the boys were kinda underwhelming when it came to their awakenings. They were in pain, but they got to awaken their personas with no real "bang", y'know? Like, a lot of the girls got to show off their badassery in some fashion when they first awaken to their personas. Ann got to slice her shadow puppet at Kamoshida's castle, Makoto got to run over her enemies with her Persona-cycle, Futaba got to use her hacking skills in battle when they needed it most and Haru's persona has guns shooting out from her skirt! All the girls got to show off how cool they are in some way, but when it came to Yusuke and Ryuji, they just seem glanced over. I dunno, does that seem fair? I don't necessarily count the main character, because that's suppose to you and like hell would they make the player not feel like the badass.
To be honest, I didn't like Haru at first, more so how she was trying to act like some heroine in an old cartoon. But I like her vulnerable she can be and how she betrays her father because making him confess is the right thing to do, even if she is used to the life style she had from his position.
She's like a naive but growing version of Asami Sato of Legend of Korra. And personally when I met Haru, I was all like, "Oh shoot, another idiot or another self-serving bitch?"

I'd say in the whole version, this is more of Morganas moment. Haru has an awakening sure, but Morgana is the one to make the speech about their horrible influence was on the games plot.
Yes it’s obvious that the writers meant to have Morgana’s arc be it’s own thing at some point and then smashed it together with Haru’s when they made her for time saving. But as it is they flow together enjoyably. I think people assume she doesn’t shine is because their comparing it to the other awakenings, but of the group Haru’s charachter is thd most mature and has a more quiet personality. So while it’s not overly emotional it does suit her charachter anyways. She Also does get her chance to tell off her father Okumura talks to both of them aftet all. Plus I’d argue that her reaction to her father’s death mattered more for her charachter and they pulled that off great.
When not factoring in story, most people dislike this palace because of the airlock puzzle and the boss. The airlock puzzle can be either really easy or really difficult, depending on how your mind works. The boss fight is one of the most difficult fights in the game, unless you're overleveled (and even then it can still be a challenge), and it was made even harder in Royal.
Precisely, and it's more or less assumed she did tear her mask the first time but it was a partial transformation like the Protagonist (remember how he couldn't mantain his rebel clothing?). Morgana says she was weak because she couldn't bring forth her Persona's full strenght, not that she couldn't use her Persona. So her awakening is less a real awakening and more her making her intentions clear and thus being able to use her Persona at full strenght. It would be a similar case to the Persona changes seen in the past, like how Rise's Persona canonically went from being support-only to having both a support and an attack mode.
Haru isn't a bad character per se, but she just does nothing for me. Her outfit though... it's second only to Joker's in terms of pants-dropping style. As an aside, Ryuji always has the best reactions during awakenings.
I appreciate the idea of this awakening scene but it kinda sucks that "Haru's big moment" finishes off with...Yusuke, Ryuji, and Morgana getting one liners to initiate the fight against *Haru's* fiance? She doesn't even say anything to him; she just kind of shuts up once Okumura shrugs her off and walks away.
Were did that spotlight come from?! I mean, yeah "cognitive world" and all that, but i'm pretty sure Haru couldn't influence it. So how the hell did that happen?
Tom Franck I'm pretty sure it's her flair emanating from her Persona. Like, that her dramatic nature was emphasized by the awakening of her Persona. Besides the spotlight, she got a petal storm, too. Best girl deserves the best.

Note how she even poses when she's doing her awakening,and does a sidestep while being followed by the spotlight. So yes, it's her cognition that created that spotlight.
She actually had more character development than the rest. She had so much shit happened to her. Death of her father, arrange marriage, take over of the company. The calm and composed demeanor says it all. That's why they say her character was boring. But it was perfect. She's wealthy on top of being a neglected child. That kind of people matures easily and be resilient in times of adversity. We saw it right after they're done infiltrating her father's palace and witness her father's death. She got back up real fast while shit got real on the Phantom Thieves. Still, she's calm, perfect for her character's backstory as much as you rant it for being boring (it's about characterization). The least thing we want was for her to act like Ann, Ryuji or the rest. She has her own personality and Atlus writers know what they're doing. I also like how Atlus handle to introduce her as she partially awakens her persona. Same as the introduction of Yusuke and Futaba. Well, there's some scene like in summer festival, Hawaii trip, and when she was carrying soil for her plants. It's understandable though as she attends the same school as the protagonist. But I like that they make her not their acquaintance up until she became their friend. Because it will ruin the excitement of knowing a person if you would know her early in the game. It will just be like as she's the second Mishima.
