Just so people have context as to how rough things were for this trip: - It's roughly 640km / 400 miles from Fukuoka to Kyoto. The 8+ hour travel period by vehicle is pretty accurate. - If you look at the time and date at the top corner, it went from MORNING to NOON without changing date. Meaning that Haru most likely made that entire 8 hour drive in about 4. - The entire party had to endure that nightmare of a drive with very little way of stopping a VERY focused Haru. - From what Google Maps showed me. Highlighted cities on or near that route include: Kitakyushu, Hiroshima, Kurashiki, Okayama, Kobe, and Osaka. So Haru was likely swerving around normal weekday morning highway traffic in multiple notable Japanese cities going about 160kph / 100mph nonstop and (likely) not hitting a single vehicle. FLOOF! NEVER! DRIVES! AGAIN!
Bloody hell, I was thinking about it in terms of geography. Never thought of rush hour. Poor kids must have experienced a ludicrous number of near-misses.

The advantage of having Haru being a part of the plot from the very beginning of the game means we FINALLY have time to see her personality shine through properly.
Basically what I said. The element of a really good driver has nothing to do with traffic laws. It has to do with vehicle control. And considering the cinnamon floof isn't a bad person she probably DOES obey traffic laws but she takes high confident, risky, but perfectly legal manuevuers when driving including driving at a speed limit that perfectly fine under law but not practical for maximum safety. The fact that they got there without being stopped or crashing means she's probably a ridiculously good driver
I like to imagine Arsene, Zorro, Captain Kidd, Carmen, Goemon, Johanna and Necronomicon are all collapsed onto the ground nearing death while Milady has her fists raised triumphantly in the air and screaming happily.
And Johanna's a bike, and one of those Final Fantasy VII-verse large superbikes, the kinds built for insane speeds. A bike got traumatized from overspeeding....
What about a shmup spinoff? If she could weave through some of the densest rush hour traffic on the planet without a single (exterior) casualty even WITH her wrong turn, she must be preternaturally GOOD about finding a line through danger. Beg for mercy, Zatsuza. She’ll one-life AND no-bomb you.
Haru, a sweet, motherly lady who spend most of her free time taking care of the plants and create organic coffee like her grandfather. Also Haru: wields a battle axe, uses a grenade launcher, her Persona has 4 heavy machine guns, and she drives like a maniac.
The instant Makoto was against Haru driving I knew exactly what type of driver Haru was...My group of friends may have a Haru in our group banned from being chauffer.

Morgana has to be driven in Mementos. So when Haru and Morgana were fleeing, Haru had to be driving. Yeesh, she really is a bad driver... I see why she normally has a limo service.

You know, I got quite nervous last year when I was in the passenger seat the last time my sister was driving the car before her driver's exam, so I know how Makoto feels. I felt myself cringe and wanted to cover my eyes the minute everyone started screaming. Seriously, Haru, I don't know how you got your driver's license. It's gonna get revoked at this rate.

You’re supposed to be a less the ideal driver before you get your license. That makes sense. The fact that Makoto, who’s been with her in college and knows the story behind how she got her license, is overtly panicking means that time and training has not improved matters. Haru probably likes Eutobeat a hair too much.

semi-spoilers for strikers something I really loved about this game, which both Persona 5 and Royal lacked was showing the characters as friends. Clearly p4 did this the best, and in p3 there were many moments in which they were not meant to feel like friends. This has the same vibrancy as the p4 anime. It's fun to see more of Makoto being a scaredy cat and Haru being borderline psychotic.
I do remember one moment in Persona 5 (spoilers below) Where it's established that Makoto is a huge scaredy cat. It's during Futaba's arc, just before her palace. What Strikers did was take pre-established traits and use them with everyone from the get go, since we don't have to have introductions late in the game. In fact, that's what Strikers does the best. It lets us see the characters early on and see them grow, and gives us time to see who they are and how they interact with everyone else. Zenkichi joins the thieves in the middle of the game, but he's already established before Shibuya.
@@Ability-King-KK Royal apparently did better in that regard than Vanilla, although in a lot of small ways. Like the short phonecalls after the confidant interactions and the photos after the things like the meal after Kaneshiro's Palace. Which weren't in Vanilla.

I love that Makoto was trying to stop her since practically the beginning of the game and every time I was like "Oh no, she drives like the devil on wheels, doesn't she?" And then we got to this scene and I was just _screaming_ it. The setup was perfect and it matches super well with what we know of her character. She's...Very relatable. x,D
Haru has the unique ability to access metaverse abilities in real life when driving. Evil Smile to get drivers out of her way and then unlimited ammo in her grenade launcher that she can summon to blow any obstacles out of her way XD

From what I read in a comment in one of the P5S videos that had Japanese voices and English subtitles, in order to get from Fukuoka to Kyoto from Morning to Noon, Haru must have drove the car at a speed of around 99-72 mph (159-116 kmph)
Imagine if Zenkichi witnessed the whole thing, but he’d still be feeling “out of it” like Makoto was. “O-Okumura… remind me to sue you after this whole thing is over…”
As a Death Battle fan I can seriously see Haru and Boomstick bonding over insane driving skills... Much to the displeasure of the Phantom Thieves and the rest of the Death Battle Hosts. 🤣
I like how Haru believes she had skill issue, when she probably is way more skilled than Makoto being able to go that fast for that long without crashing.
It’s actually Sega that gives Haru less screen time because if Atlus was its own company separate from Sega than all of the Persona characters would be fleshed out, and their games would be made on all Platforms like Persona 5 Strikers is whereas whenever Sega has full control over games being made by Atlus then their games are being exclusively for PlayStation, and certain characters aren’t fully fleshed out all the way.
I just wanna point out they said it was an 8 Hour Drive And the time said morning and they said that meant sundown, But they got there at noon that means hurry to cut the driving time approximately by half meaning she would’ve been doing nearly double the speed limit on the interstate.... So we’re most likely talking approximately 120 to 150 miles an hour

Persona 5 Strikers just demonstrated how absolutely unhinged Haru really is inside, and I appreciated that greatly.

something I really loved about this game, which both Persona 5 and Royal lacked was showing the characters as friends. Clearly p4 did this the best, and in p3 there were many moments in which they were not meant to feel like friends. This has the same vibrancy as the p4 anime. It's fun to see more of Makoto being a scaredy cat and Haru being borderline psychotic.
Good thing this is my first Persona game. No wonder I bonded so quick.
I do remember one moment in Persona 5 (spoilers below)
Where it's established that Makoto is a huge scaredy cat. It's during Futaba's arc, just before her palace. What Strikers did was take pre-established traits and use them with everyone from the get go, since we don't have to have introductions late in the game. In fact, that's what Strikers does the best. It lets us see the characters early on and see them grow, and gives us time to see who they are and how they interact with everyone else. Zenkichi joins the thieves in the middle of the game, but he's already established before Shibuya.
Don't know what Persona 5's excuse would be on that front, but Royal unfortunately focused too much on Sumire instead of the ACTUAL Phantom Thieves.

@@Ability-King-KK Royal apparently did better in that regard than Vanilla, although in a lot of small ways. Like the short phonecalls after the confidant interactions and the photos after the things like the meal after Kaneshiro's Palace. Which weren't in Vanilla.

I love that Makoto was trying to stop her since practically the beginning of the game and every time I was like "Oh no, she drives like the devil on wheels, doesn't she?" And then we got to this scene and I was just _screaming_ it. The setup was perfect and it matches super well with what we know of her character. She's...Very relatable. x,D

Haru has the unique ability to access metaverse abilities in real life when driving. Evil Smile to get drivers out of her way and then unlimited ammo in her grenade launcher that she can summon to blow any obstacles out of her way XD

From what I read in a comment in one of the P5S videos that had Japanese voices and English subtitles, in order to get from Fukuoka to Kyoto from Morning to Noon, Haru must have drove the car at a speed of around 99-72 mph (159-116 kmph)

It’s actually Sega that gives Haru less screen time because if Atlus was its own company separate from Sega than all of the Persona characters would be fleshed out, and their games would be made on all Platforms like Persona 5 Strikers is whereas whenever Sega has full control over games being made by Atlus then their games are being exclusively for PlayStation, and certain characters aren’t fully fleshed out all the way.
What make this scene more funny for me when haru start to drive I heard police siren pass by my house
I just wanna point out they said it was an 8 Hour Drive And the time said morning and they said that meant sundown, But they got there at noon that means hurry to cut the driving time approximately by half meaning she would’ve been doing nearly double the speed limit on the interstate.... So we’re most likely talking approximately 120 to 150 miles an hour
