5 Days of Van Camping and Fly Fishing for Steelhead in Oregon

- For this video, we teamed up with Axis Vehicles to take you on a steelhead journey in Oregon. Our goal was to take out their demo van and get a feel for how we might go about building out our own E-Series Van with Axis in the future. After visiting the coast, we made our way to the river where Erika nd I managed to find our first-ever steelhead on the fly. Huge thanks to Barrett with Nam Products and Taylor with Axis.

I fished 3 years maybe 10-12 before getting one, I got it on the bobber but maybe this year I get the swing

man swinging flies is the best, caught my first adult steelhead ever on new years eve this year, swinging a lamprey imitation on the Trinity river. Best thing is, you dont even need a spey rod for those smaller waters
I caught my first fish on the fly there at 10 years old. 34 now. The nameless place holds a special place in my heart. It's my spirit location for sure. As someone who no longer lives nearby that area but used to, I remember my youth in this video. I appreciate your attention to cinematography and visuals, and as a tech enthusiast I also appreciate being able to view it in 4K on my monitor. Thank you for that. Also, I kind of hate you for getting to go to freaking AFRICA to fly fish.......

I’m in the UK and have been fishing for years but never caught a salmon. This year is hopefully the yea but this was a huge inspiration to me.

What a beautifully filmed video loved it congrats on that first steelhead nothing better then a tight line grab.
Have patients, and don't forget to mend your fly line to slow your fly down. Also, Steelhead migrated at certain times throughout the seasons, and when it rains, also when the pressure on the barometer is between 29.70 and 30.40. Also it's best to check with the fly-fishing shops or check the fish count on the internet with Bonneville Dam fish count.

That van is way cool, with the way the front seats swivel I don’t think I would want the second row seats no need for them, and would make a ton more room without them in the van!!

Im honestly so confused you came to oregon and spent all this time on the coast but you went all the way inland to chase steelhead??? There was a enormous amount of options for steelhead in coastal river systems rather winter run or summer run. Next time let me know and we will go visit some coastal rivers where u get those fresh from the ocean chromers with sea lice. congrats on your first steelhead though
