Marko Hietala is one of the most underrated artists of our times. "Just the basist" for NIghtwish he is an incredibly talented vocalist and one of the best song-writers in metal and rock. I'm really sad to see him leave Nightwish :(
I agree that he is underrated. But he was never "just the bassist". The way his vocals (I am not saying "backup vocals" on purpose, in my opinion it was always an integral part of the song, as important as the female vocals, complimenting and complementing each other) added depth and power to NW songs, was superb. Every fan loved Marko not just for his bass skills.
My Daughter was an avid fan of these guys and after she suddenly passed on at the young age of 35 I began to listen for myself, This is so uplifting and refreshing performance! Thank you guys she would have been as impressed and proud, as I am,.
Sorry for your loss, but I'm sure she is in a much better place than we are. For now, we keep listening to pieces of work that inspire us toward sublime and transcendence, and hope for a better place to ourselves, where we can see again our departed beloved ones.
Floor looks like an angel in white, She really is a gift from heaven and their embrace at the end had me 😭 They both looked so happy to be performing together again.
I love the obvious chemistry between Floor and Marko and all of Nightwish in general.They are all very special people and we are so lucky to have them.

She was there in 2018 as well and was invited for the 2019 edition, but had to back down and cancel at least one more Christmas show due to having the flu. It would have been amazing to see Marco, Floor and Tarja on the same stage together. Maybe next year 😏

Marko announced his retirement from Nightwish on January 12 2020.. This may be the last time he and Floor have sung together.. That's a personal tragedy to me and quite possibly the world.. They're world class vocalists and harmonize so well together.
