Jade 14 days of isolation, even with two other people can take it's toll massively. I spent two weeks in quarantine and some parts of it were lovely, spending time with friends and having time to think but it can also be super tough at times and I completely feel you when you talked about your excitement to get out of quarantine, explore, meet other people and socialise again!! God! This makes me miss being an international student so badly! It was 5 years ago this month and literally all of the friends I made there said it was the best experience of their lives. Being around your friends who are just as happy to be there as you, experiencing things for the first time with you, learning each other’s cultures, slang, and idioms, exploring the city, and indulging in chatting away about your majors bc you genuinely all love them. as a person in medicine- I miss classes with discussions and nuance! Studying really complicated and interwined biology is beautiful, but we study facts so there's no space for opinions at all. I'm craving logic debates and opinion shifts!
I actually think your intuition is correct and there SHOULD be space to have these discussions? I study philosophy and although I don't really do any Philosophy of Biology, i I have seen that it is a really vibrant field. Science is not set in stone and it works on top of a lot of assumptions that we already bring into our studies - I really wish they gave at least a little bit of space on natural science programmes to critically engaging with the philosophy behind it

Similar thing with 'Tauschticket'. This website allows you to get rid of books and clothes and many more things in exchange for a currency of tickets, which then allow you to "buy" other used stuff! I love it and been using it for 4 years now and I feel like it's kind of underrated! :)

I‘d highly recommend checking the site every now and then! I think Rewe (the supermarket) has a feature where you can do your grocery shop online. And other supermarkets also have websites for products you can‘t get in store (e.g. Real). Drugstores like DM also have an online shop. For your appartment you can check out things like Dänisches Bettenlager or Poco Domäne. If you need anything tech related you can check out Media Markt or Saturn. And for books you can go to the Thalia website or check out Medimops for second hand things. I don‘t know how much shipping you have to pay and of course Amazon is more convenient but most big german shops have an online site. I know you‘re probably out of quarantine already but these sites are convenient and sometimes have better offers than the physical shops! Viel Spaß in Berlin!!

Corona took a lot of my plans from me (I mainly wanted to travel) but I'm still glad I did it. I changed my idea of what I wanted to study and become 180° during it. as a tip instead of amazon: I use amazon to find the products I like, check out the brands and then go to the website of the brands specifically, often they are even cheaper on the original websites than on amazon, the order process is quite the same and we avoided giving money to amazon :)

I'm glad you're able to enjoy the city now! I had to do 2-week quarantine TWICE 😅First time at my sister's apartment on O'ahu so there was a kitchen and balcony with incredible views, but the second one was a hotel quarantine by myself when I flew back to Malaysia with sealed windows so no fresh air and a buttload of plastic (from our meals) for 2 weeks 😬
Feeling the stuck in a flat vibes :/ I'm in the city centre of Liverpool in a minute flat with no balcony and working from home (yay!) so I'm alone about 80% of my week as my partner works IRL but luckily my nearest green space is up the road. BUT it's remarkable how quickly the world shrinks when you're stuck in the same place for too long. Honestly the main thing that kept me going was "I'm going to visit a cafe and have a ridiculously extravagant hot chocolate and watch people go by when this is over" - small goal but easily achievable. Idk might help to have a little "when I'm allowed out again..." goal Good luck and *huugss* from Scouse land ❤

When I did an exchange program I had friends called Lara and Gabriel, so I keep thinking of them when you mention your roomates, so many happy memorieeeees. Also, all the food looks SO GOOD!
I wish my uni made me think all the time! I wish I had to do the readings and then have a conversation in class and get tested or whatever! I love your enthusiasm and when I started in uni I felt exactly the same way! Sweet times 🥰

as a tip instead of amazon: I use amazon to find the products I like, check out the brands and then go to the website of the brands specifically, often they are even cheaper on the original websites than on amazon, the order process is quite the same and we avoided giving money to amazon :)
also a lot of berlin shops have delivery-service now with the covid-situation. I highly recommend original-unverpackt!

To keep it brief I was having a lot of life changes and losing a lot of people and felt very lonely. I watched one of your videos of you taking yourself on a 5am date and you were talking about mindset really effecting everything in your life. It was true lol you called me out and now I'm trying to keep going with youtube, school, work and enjoying life's small moments (sorry that was long it just meant a lot) xoxo

I'm glad you're able to enjoy the city now! I had to do 2-week quarantine TWICE 😅First time at my sister's apartment on O'ahu so there was a kitchen and balcony with incredible views, but the second one was a hotel quarantine by myself when I flew back to Malaysia with sealed windows so no fresh air and a buttload of plastic (from our meals) for 2 weeks 😬

Feeling the stuck in a flat vibes :/
I'm in the city centre of Liverpool in a minute flat with no balcony and working from home (yay!) so I'm alone about 80% of my week as my partner works IRL but luckily my nearest green space is up the road. BUT it's remarkable how quickly the world shrinks when you're stuck in the same place for too long.
Honestly the main thing that kept me going was "I'm going to visit a cafe and have a ridiculously extravagant hot chocolate and watch people go by when this is over" - small goal but easily achievable. Idk might help to have a little "when I'm allowed out again..." goal
