  • I've know Scooter for a little bit, yet this was the first time we met in person. Over the last year or so, if I tweet out I was having a technical issue with video gear, the guy would work overtime to help me find a solution. Interesting, Scooter is homeless. He lives in a van parking in a New Jersey Walmart parking lot.
Scooter lost the house he lived in for 27 years and has now lived in a van for 3 years. He didn't lose his house because of the economic crisis, but because of a few bad decisions and health issues.
You can find Scooter on twitter as @scooter_NJ. He also writes a blog, which I found out about when I bought him coffee at McDonalds. The guy behind the counter, I think he is a manager, won't touch Scooter's mug, or allow the other workers to fill it up. So he fills a paper cup up and then pours it onto the mug. He then throws the large paper cub away, and that wastes money. read about it here homelessadvisor.blogspot.com/2...
Scooter is a huge Glenn Beck fan. I didn't even know Glenn Beck had a subscription based television show until this interview. Scooter wants is to be able to watch Glenn Beck via free wifi. If any of you have connections to Glenn Beck, let's try and get Scooter a subscription, and maybe even Mr. Beck will visit Scooter and do a show on America's homeless.
You may look at Scooter's situation and think it's not that bad. Well, trying living in a van in a parking lot indefinitely. Even though he is not sleeping on the streets, living in a van is not by choice, and it is homeless, and it is horrible. One of the fastest growing demographics in homelessness is mobile homeless. People lose their jobs, then their apartments, and then try and stay in their vehicles as long as possible. Some people like Scooter are lucky. Scooter wants to survive and has survival skills. Many people are not so lucky.

    About Invisible People:
Since its launch in November 2008, Invisible People has leveraged the power of video and the massive reach of social media to share the compelling, gritty, and unfiltered stories of homeless people from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. The vlog (video blog) gets up close and personal with veterans, mothers, children, layoff victims and others who have been forced onto the streets by a variety of circumstances. Each week, they’re on InvisiblePeople.tv, and high traffic sites such as TH-cam, Twitter and Facebook, proving to a global audience that while they may often be ignored, they are far from invisible.
Invisible People goes beyond the rhetoric, statistics, political debates, and limitations of social services to examine poverty in America via a medium that audiences of all ages can understand, and can’t ignore. The vlog puts into context one of our nation’s most troubling and prevalent issues through personal stories captured by the lens of Mark Horvath - its founder - and brings into focus the pain, hardship and hopelessness that millions face each day. One story at a time, videos posted on InvisiblePeople.tv shatter the stereotypes of America’s homeless, force shifts in perception and deliver a call to action that is being answered by national brands, nonprofit organizations and everyday citizens now committed to opening their eyes and their hearts to those too often forgotten.
Invisible People is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the way we think about people experiencing homelessness.

I used to live out in the city for a couple months, they have a lot of random pianos around where I was Living. This one time, i was trying to teach myself how to play basic chords. When this homeless man came up to me, he was interested in what I was doing and asked me to teach him some of what I knew. We sat there for almost an hour just messing around on the piano, in that moment I came to realize almost everyone is a person just trying to get through life, and we all have interests and passions. Some people are just dealt the wrong cards in life, and we shouldn't categorize every homeless person as one 💯💯

@michael boultinghouse I don't go to worldly churches. I don't subscribe to organized religion. It is satans tool. They won't give people the truth for two reasons. #1 is because no one wants the truth. And #2 there is no money in it for them in giving people the truth. Because if people actually were remorseful and went to the river confessing their sins and took John's baptism of repentance according to Acts2:38 they would recieve the gift of the Holy Spirit and would have no more need that a man should lead them because they would be led of the Holy Spirit. This is why pastors withhold the way of righteousness from the people. Because the Holy Spirit sets you free. And free people who have both God and HIS Son Jesus living in them don't need to continue to pay a huckster. But really the people come for a feel good message that eases their conscious so they can continue living in sin and for this world they don't want the truth.

What people don't understand is most of those are the exception more than the rule.
If you choose to live in a vehicle and you have income to get the things you need, you're not homeless. a lot of these van life channels either make their money directly on TH-cam, or they have jobs they can do online.
But most people who wind up living in vehicles didn't choose that life. They have no resources to maintain their vehicles, and it's a struggle for them to keep food in their bellies, and keep themselves warm. They're all so surrounded by their own stuff.

You know, I moved into my first home home when I was 37, after years of renting, and carried the wife across the threshold, the very next day my secure job,I was told , may have problems, mate, there's a downturn in building houses no new listings for a while now, sorry mate can't help you. You'll have to look elsewhere until further notice, no use though, everyone was panicking and holding.had to sell the house, back to rental again,10 years on everything seemed to be going ok, so I took the plunge again, within the week total collapse on building sites and company's going belly up,no where to go nobody hiring, the wife threatening to leave me ,where's a shot gun? Been barely struggling on , economy here in Australia permantly scalped, and in dire troubles. Pure madness and insanity. And instead of humanity working together, they all scalp eachother instead which creates more of the worsening situation.the governments further panick and get cruel.take no thought for tomorrow, let happen what inevitably must happen if it's beyond anything we can possibly do.

That guy should be lucky he has a van to live and there’s homeless people like me not even having that and we still try to work I don’t care one bit about him trying to get a job or anything how did he live in the house and paying for everything we’d like to know what happened to him does he have an alcohol problem or a drug problem because I see most people wind up like that that are not disabled like me that have a bunch of problems or psychological problems they need to get help for thank God he has a van because I live on the street some of us don’t have that these people are complaining they do not keep trying they just give up and How does he get money now to buy beer or whatever but if he does eyebrows I lived in the parking lot and saw his van and get an apartment and get a job some of us are homeless because we have no choice some of us do it to ourselves and we do not try I feel sorry for the ones that do not try because I never give up I’ve been homeless for over 25 years I’ve always tried and made a dime or two to get by I’m dyslexic with the mental problem and physically disabled now trying to collect disability which Trump is trying to take away but I still keep trying I never give up it seems like a lot of people when they get down there give up they don’t try to getGod bless this guy he wants other people to pay per prescription so he could settle down and do nothing all day why don’t we go out to one of them spores in front of him and try to get a job or put shopping carts or something to do something besides the plane that’s all they do is complain and we allow it and this is coming from a homeless guy I know our government needs to change and come up with but better programs but if we don’t go along and help and help them change and keep trying then there is no sense for most of these people that live on the street Cesar have drug problems or alcohol problems I’ve been all over and seen it luckily I never fell into that category of having that kind of problem I’m so lucky for my life I wake up every day and I’m thankful I’m aliveAnd I just think they give up too soon to be early and they do not try if they have a bad problem they need to get into a program and help their selves quit complaining do something about it I know we’re homeless but that don’t mean that we have to stop living when you say you can’t do nothing or you physically disabled mentally disabled I don’t seem like it you hold a pretty good interview on this TH-cam channel I’m dyslexic if it wasn’t for voice control I would not be able to write this down because I have to talk into the microphone I could not even spell print do math or anything ever since I was young and I never complained I always worked and tried to work until I got about 30 years old And could not get jobs that’s when it became a problem but I think the plane I’ll be 54 years old and unfortunately I have to go on disability because I no longer physically can’t work but I never give up don’t you ever give up buddy go get a job quit complaining do something about it you’re living in a van when you have to sell your brain to live on then you’re living on the streets don’t come see the people that are already out there living on the streets you look like you just want to take a break minutes and you wanna handle I’m sorry to say that I feel sorry for all the homeless people like me I’m not knocking anybody but I know what’s right I know what’s wrong God bless you

Atleast he actually admitted that he DID make poor decisions regarding his house. After 27 years you should be owning your house out right and he obviously knew that. From what he said it sounded like he could have gone to his son's house, but he chose not to. Family ties can be some of the most important and valuable ties that you'll ever have in your entire life. The other thing is that he suffered the loss of his wife. He had multiple strokes but continues to smoke. Externally he seems very upbeat but a deeper Look might show that he was done with life already. I'm sorry to hear that he didn't make it and died in 2015.

Walter was a teacher that got cancer, and he started making, selling drugs to give his family money, when his cancer goes into remission, he continues selling drugs because Walter gets a rush from selling drugs. Since Walter has always been the type of person that is picked on, he gets power from the process of making and selling the drugs. Not one helped me with a thing and caused me to cleanup their filthy messes so my old 64 year old female body mustered the strength to singlehandedly toss out a couch in the garage with the help of our fine sheriff's Dept.
