The bit about deus ex machinas occurring because of this guy working behind the scenes reminds me of a web novel named Pact. The protagonist has some moments like this in the beginning of the story, up until he fights a demon that causes everyone to forget it's victims ever existed. From that moment onward, he NEVER has another deus ex machina moment. It turns out that he actually had friends helping him, but they are all dead and forgotten now after getting swallowed by the demon. And even YOU, the reader, aren't protected from this effect.

"The way the world sees you isn't nearly as important as the way you see it." That's gotta be the best ever quote I've ever heard in such a long time. Very simple but meaningful. I will always remember this, thank you very much Mr Forget-Me-Not.
Once I heard about this guy, feels like forever ago, i always thought if used right he would be an awesome character or an even an amazing villain if he ever turned. Bc he can basically do anything and no one notices or remembers. I always thought he'd eventually snap and do something but he seems like a solid good person. He could help the mutants against Orchis and everything else currently.
There's a chapter book with him (or at least someone with the same power) as the protagonist. He's unable to be noticed, but Wolverine actually helps him out because he can sense him with sound and smell. Eventually his drawings get noticed by others enough for him to actually begin getting friends at the school. Also, there's a pretty gory fight between Wolverine and Sabertooth.

I loved this book,I bought it when it came out. It's a sad power, to think he's been around in stories that we know but he's always forgotten. The kind of old school stories I loved as a kid
For April Fools, marvel rivals should add Forget Me Not into the game where hes pretty much invisible the entire time until he hits you or you hit him buuuut because of his ability, he also doesn’t register as a character so he cant push or capture the center unless he’s constantly hitting the walls.
It sounds like a protagonist version of the False Hydra from DnD. A creature which removes itself and any effects it's had from the minds and memories of people surrounding it. It can break in through a window, snatch up a resident infront of their family, and said family will be left wondering why there's an unusued bed in the house.
Ever since I read FMN's entry in the old Marvel heroes database they used to keep online, he's been one of my favorite underrated characters, just like Speedball. I remember thinking "What a great pow-... oh... snap." because it only took a few seconds for it to sink in. 😥
Why didn't he have people put down on paper his profile? Forgetmenot literally makes people forget him and bends perception of him but doesn't erase what has been put down on record. Nor does it remove the knowledge of him having existed or his actions/footprint he leaves behind. Charles shows it doesn't create a memory block or directly interferes with actual facts or records since charles got his sizes for the suit. But what stops him from creating a manuscript, a biography, a statue or a basic profile on forgetmenot? Basic proof he exists without direct visual imaging should sidestep the cognito inhibiting, and would be a nice in your face calling card when he wishes to be remembered.
This is such an underrated story tbh, it’s sad, forget-me-not helped so many ppl but nobody actually helped him the way he wanted, he got some satisfaction in the end but sad he couldn’t go on helping others
He is now my favorite character in marvel hands down, he is such a dilemma himself but he makes it work, I wanna see more from him this is the most interested I’ve been in a character you’ve explained in a while🙏🏾
I love it! Thank you... And I have to say... It's been a long time since I heard a short story where I truly feel compelled to care for a character! Honestly hope that's not the last we see of him...
That character says it as a matter of fact...but I am not sure people caught onto it. He is a person who has always been around the xmen. BUT no one can remember him. Perhaps not always, but at some point once he joined up, the things they passed off as coincidences, or luck...that was him. He was doing his thing, making things better as he could, no one could remember he existed...he just did his job. That is bonkers. BUT if the prof knew of him and set an alarm, why did he make no real effort to clue in at least some of the members of the xmen, at least the ones that had psychic gifts. That would be the best/worst/best/worst mutation anyone could have. very mixed emotions about it. BUT just wow.
Bro could be supremely dangerous if he tried, imagine an opponent who you cant even REMEMBER, every time he's out of your sight, you forget he exists, the knowledge of his existence is forbidden by the nature of his power. He could be an incredible assassin.
Honestly 1 of my favorites thus far man. Alot to take away from both perspectives. Be dope to see him evolving as a character. Makes you think, in his shoes would you give it Up or keep It(The Gift & The Curse)? 💯🖖🏿
I have a very similar character in my dnd campaign, inspired by There Is No Antimemetics Division. He became immortal, because Death itself couldnt remember him. In that world gods' powers come from their thrones, and in the great battle where they all fought for theirs he just went and took one and nobody noticed. That was until my campaign's bbeg, who has free reign over the realm of dreams, noticed him. Because of how weird memories are in dreams he managed to remember him, which lead to the guy joining the bbeg and just giving his throne over to him since it is the first time in centuries he had any connection to another person
I was thinking the same thing. Although Joe Schmoe probably has a worse version of this since people only see him as average at everything no matter what. Joe never even gets people to interact meaningfully with him. This guy could probably get workarounds to his power.
I just love these little side members of the X Men. Xavier really did recruit some of the nastiest monsters and God-like beings. I would even say ForgetMeNot is more of a trickster than Loki.
How awesome would it be if forget-me-not is featured in Deadpool 3 but we didn’t notice him because he was an extra in the previous films all along. Lol
I love Forgetmenot so much as a character and it's great how rarely he shows up in the comics. I think this adds to his character and it gives him a real world effect. To be honest, as much as I love the character, I only care about him when someone else brings him up. He's really meta.
I heard of forget-me-not on some other video a long time ago. Tried to search for him but couldn't find him, after a few tries over years I started wondering if I had just imagined it. Thank you 😂
I would love if forget-me-not was like the ultimate x-men spy . or like immune to reality warping just because he was forgotten . The writing potential for him is actually super high , You can make a whole comedy show out of his power -- I wonder if cosmic entities like physically have to check up on him because he's like a blind spot even for them.
My question is: WTF has he been during the fight against Orchis and the upcoming one against Enigma? Can Enigma "see" him given it's place outside of space and time?
The fact that Xavier deduced his existence and regularly reminded himself to acknowledge him is beautiful. One of my favorites tropes in fiction is a very intelligent character working out something that isn't supposed to be knowable or findable, simply by the empty space left behind.
Good video on whoever you talked about Rob. He had some cool moments and whatever that person did was definitely note-worthy and impactful, but the problem is that I don't remember who he is and what his mutant power is. Probably something broken and OP that Marvel doesn't want to capitalize on, but that's just my opinion on that matter......... 😂😂
This IS a pretty sad story. I like it, cause it show you Something you dont sée very often: someone who don't liké to have powers. X m'en has Always bé about acceptation. But what about ''dizgusting powers'', or powers that make you look so différent? Its litteraly an X-Men Ben Grimm and i loved it
These characters add so much insight to marvel and just comics in general. We often see the view points of someone strong like magneto or apocalypse, and then someone like forget me nots view, it’s like viewing the world as an ant
You can take this power to INSANE levels of scaling if they really wanted. Like he can legit make the world forget mutants ever existed and they could live in peace.
While true, it also doesn't affect anything that doesn't rely on memory or complex perception to function. Natural disasters, simple perceptive beings that does not rely on persistence of memory, and etc would still be able to affect him.
I'd honestly speculate that his powers over everyone's memories of him would vanish. Possibly allowing everyone who ever seen him a chance to remember. At least, that's my headcanon, so it can be a happy ending 😅😂
This is amazing. I love this character and the entire message of this comic. The fact that he wanted to stay the way he was and was eventually satisfied with the way his life would be is kind of amazing. Whoever created this character is a genius.

I do love my stranger 8+ worm powers
What the fuck. I thought it was just some goblins that got erased. God that's awesome meta-story-wise though. Is that ever acknowledged at all in universe, or is it just a reader observation? Currently at 6.6 right now
You bring up Pact but don't Bring Aisha "Imp" Laborn? She has the same powers as Forgetmenot except she can turn them off sometimes.
Where can I read it?
@@InformerMaz just google pact webnovel. Its free on the internet. Its by a person called JC McCrae also known as Wildbow
So he's essentially The Silence from Dr Who? Cool. Love to see more stories around this concept.
You might want to check the Anti-memes from the SCP universe, they are pieces of information that are imposible to retein for one reason or another.
There's a book of short stories about them i think it was call "There is no Anti-memetics Division"
I read that book and enjoyed it a few summers ago. The big, meta-plot lost a lot of narrative cohesion in the last third, but the opening chapters introducing the concept and setting were amazing.@@alejoclosa7705

That's gotta be the best ever quote I've ever heard in such a long time. Very simple but meaningful. I will always remember this, thank you very much Mr Forget-Me-Not.
The Greatest Hero You Will Never Remember...
Booster Gold?
Who?
Once I heard about this guy, feels like forever ago, i always thought if used right he would be an awesome character or an even an amazing villain if he ever turned. Bc he can basically do anything and no one notices or remembers. I always thought he'd eventually snap and do something but he seems like a solid good person. He could help the mutants against Orchis and everything else currently.
You can't help but truly feel for the guy. He just wants that human connection everyone deserves to have but is doomed to always be forgotten. :(
Ahaha saaaaaaameeee😎
There's a chapter book with him (or at least someone with the same power) as the protagonist. He's unable to be noticed, but Wolverine actually helps him out because he can sense him with sound and smell.
Eventually his drawings get noticed by others enough for him to actually begin getting friends at the school.
Also, there's a pretty gory fight between Wolverine and Sabertooth.
Bro, I going to need you to continue making heartfelt videos like this. This is mutant I would have never though about had you not put him on the map. Thank you (que the song forget me not)
“Whatever we were talking about, it was probably cool.”
Perfect.
~_~
I loved this book,I bought it when it came out. It's a sad power, to think he's been around in stories that we know but he's always forgotten. The kind of old school stories I loved as a kid
Glad you covered this.. He should be used more often in the comics.. But the creators forget about him.. 😮😮
He is in every issue...
“Wait until people can notice you, and simply don’t care”
*Mic drop
That’s not why he decided not to though. He just remembered he doesn’t help people for recognition.
Marvel is savage for making a X-Man about the readers.
Absolutely brilliant how you ended the video ma dude! “What were we watching again?!!” Lol, awesome!!
People would just forget that.
People would forget where they put notes about him
Oh! Hey this guy seems pretty cool! Is there a back to this page? What's this empty paper doing here? I'm just gonna recycle it.
"When does a man truly die.... when hes forgotten" ,Dr. Hiriluk
They should make a mutant whose only power is being able to remember this guy.
Charles Xavier setting an hourly reminder to remember Forget Me Not is quite endearing. Xavier always has a crazy control over reality
This would make such a great sub-story in one of the future X-men movies... Awesomely written.
This is such an underrated story tbh, it’s sad, forget-me-not helped so many ppl but nobody actually helped him the way he wanted, he got some satisfaction in the end but sad he couldn’t go on helping others
3:04 "Gambit was always chasing after her tryna clap the cheeks" 💀
He is now my favorite character in marvel hands down, he is such a dilemma himself but he makes it work, I wanna see more from him this is the most interested I’ve been in a character you’ve explained in a while🙏🏾
bro is the plot armor
I went here thinking "haha time to know who's this silly mutant" to "dang, never thought I'd be invested this much"
The only person that can actually see him is Deadpool..... besides Professor X
Bro could be supremely dangerous if he tried, imagine an opponent who you cant even REMEMBER, every time he's out of your sight, you forget he exists, the knowledge of his existence is forbidden by the nature of his power. He could be an incredible assassin.
If you’re watching this for the first time you can’t be sure you haven’t already heard of this guy…
Yeah bro that was sweet. You always bring to light comics and stories that I would have never have known about. Thank you Rob.
Because of how weird memories are in dreams he managed to remember him, which lead to the guy joining the bbeg and just giving his throne over to him since it is the first time in centuries he had any connection to another person
what’s this video about again?
Guy needs a brain slug companion, the slug would never forget him and people would never forget the slug.
Can't they just write it down in permanent ink or something?

Dude is like if the SCP Joe Schmo but with a different predicament and not an psychopath due to the lack of consequences to his actions
I was thinking the same thing. Although Joe Schmoe probably has a worse version of this since people only see him as average at everything no matter what. Joe never even gets people to interact meaningfully with him.
This guy could probably get workarounds to his power.
I feel so bad for someone I can't seem to remember...
I just love these little side members of the X Men. Xavier really did recruit some of the nastiest monsters and God-like beings. I would even say ForgetMeNot is more of a trickster than Loki.
He actually recently died in Legion of X. He sacrificed himself and died but no one remembered.
How awesome would it be if forget-me-not is featured in Deadpool 3 but we didn’t notice him because he was an extra in the previous films all along. Lol
He is featured in every film, he just isn't in the movie credits
You forgot the fact that the wall ends up forgetting Mr forget me not is there
I love Forgetmenot so much as a character and it's great how rarely he shows up in the comics. I think this adds to his character and it gives him a real world effect. To be honest, as much as I love the character, I only care about him when someone else brings him up. He's really meta.
Sadly his powers are so great that the artists forget to draw him.
tht was a noiiice touch at the end there mate!
I heard of forget-me-not on some other video a long time ago. Tried to search for him but couldn't find him, after a few tries over years I started wondering if I had just imagined it. Thank you 😂
You got me through a tough time as a teenager. Thanks bro youre my favorite youtuber
I would love if forget-me-not was like the ultimate x-men spy .
or like immune to reality warping just because he was forgotten .
The writing potential for him is actually super high , You can make a whole comedy show out of his power --
I wonder if cosmic entities like physically have to check up on him because he's like a blind spot even for them.
My question is: WTF has he been during the fight against Orchis and the upcoming one against Enigma? Can Enigma "see" him given it's place outside of space and time?
He would but probably forget
@@madara4447 That makes him a great ace card for anyone that can gear him up to go up against a dominion, lol. Maybe Wyn.
The fact that Xavier deduced his existence and regularly reminded himself to acknowledge him is beautiful. One of my favorites tropes in fiction is a very intelligent character working out something that isn't supposed to be knowable or findable, simply by the empty space left behind.
Forget-Me-Not's power is just being a man under 5'6"
bro just made a video of a blank svreen and expected people to understand 💀
Good video on whoever you talked about Rob. He had some cool moments and whatever that person did was definitely note-worthy and impactful, but the problem is that I don't remember who he is and what his mutant power is. Probably something broken and OP that Marvel doesn't want to capitalize on, but that's just my opinion on that matter.........
😂😂
With my imagination. And his power. I would be unstoppable. I would be. Inevitable!
This IS a pretty sad story. I like it, cause it show you Something you dont sée very often: someone who don't liké to have powers. X m'en has Always bé about acceptation. But what about ''dizgusting powers'', or powers that make you look so différent? Its litteraly an X-Men Ben Grimm and i loved it
Really great story, hard to tell outside of the medium but perfectly contained. Love it, thanks for talking about it
This dude is just the silence from Dr who😂
so the guard who took an arrow to the knee continues
wait...did I just watch an empty video?
These characters add so much insight to marvel and just comics in general. We often see the view points of someone strong like magneto or apocalypse, and then someone like forget me nots view, it’s like viewing the world as an ant
Love the subtle Skyrim reference
The cool thing about him is how he's drawn differently in every panel lol, bc even as the reader we aren't immune to his power of forgetting
I feel like ive wasted 16:22, idk why XD
This guy's power is the silence from Dr.who, just without the exploding people part
Love ForgetMeNot.

The barrier is eventually gonna forget about him and let him go, no? :D
If he dies nobody would be at his funeral, because they wouldn't remember who he is? If so that's sad
Nobody will remember him except Gods.
Well Charles would be at his funeral.
Oh wait...
dude wouldn't even had a funeral....just stay whereever he was dropped.
I'd honestly speculate that his powers over everyone's memories of him would vanish.
Possibly allowing everyone who ever seen him a chance to remember.
At least, that's my headcanon, so it can be a happy ending 😅😂
Looks like we all forgot he sacrificed himself to get to nimrod fairly recently, no clue if he was resurrected prior to Prof X order.
Thanks for covering this awesome mutant. Certainly one of the coolest characters that I wasnt aware of.
I thought she was trying to get (into) the building
I don't think he can age because the god of time forgets him
This is amazing. I love this character and the entire message of this comic. The fact that he wanted to stay the way he was and was eventually satisfied with the way his life would be is kind of amazing.
Whoever created this character is a genius.
His final monologue needs to be shouted from the rooftops globally.
