  • In this 4K video I review Colorverse String fountain pen ink. This ink has a surprisingly nice mustard color.

    Brane is one of my favorite green (shimmer) inks. I picked up a 30ml bottle of it by itself after trying it in a sample. I didn't buy it until the 30ml came out because I didn't want the set with String. Heh.
    String looks pretty.

      Haha. No one wants the sets. I'll have to try a sample of Brane.

    Matches your shirt, Blake!

      They are definitely close. Looking at the tag, the color of my shirt is "dust".

    I think people who buy such inks are more attracted to the bottles than they are the ink.

      Their bottle design is unique and they tend to be pretty stable which I like but I can think several other brands with a prettier bottle for a similar price.

      The bottle is pretty bad. Almost as bad as Ferris wheel press. Tough to fill much w/ it unless you're using a syringe. It looks cool but also is very inefficient w/ space.

    Thanks, Blake! I do like this colour. I'm over shimmer inks and try to find mixing ink combinations that match the base colour (e.g. Emerald of Chivor). More ink reviews (Diamine inks, perhaps) and would love to see your thoughts on Velin Pur Coton and Verge de France papers

      You are welcome. I will definitely do some Diamine inks in the future as well as Velin Pur Coton and Verge De France.

    🙋‍♂Hi Blake! I am not into shimmer inks, it's just a gimmick to me, and not much into Colorverse inks at all. This is just a personal choice. I will say that "String" has some nice shading depending on the nib size, as you have shown. Great review!👍 Kudos from NYC.🗽

      Thank you! I think Colorverse makes some nice inks but the prices are on the higher side and I am not a huge fan of the way they are bundled.

    Could you possibly do a review on the Princeton Architectural Press Notebook (grids and guides in black)?? That would be super awesome :)

      The layout of these is very interesting. I will look into getting one.

    I’m more interested in the background than the ink 😊 what country is this?

    I truly hate Colorverse for making these 15ml and 5ml bottles...and upcharging us, or putting two bottles together and sell it to us at a higher price that's cost efficient, but not consumer friendly xD Wearingeul is the most expensive ink in their regular 30ml bottles, but Colorverse has become as bad or worse than Ferris Wheel Press when they came out with those tiny 20ml bottles for 22 dollars. These prices are just so damn stupid xD But then there's Sailor too...the 20ml bottles for about 18 dollars is also up there.

      But, to me, the very expensive Sailor Shikiori 20 ml bottled inks are far better than Colorverse & Co. - and totally worth the price.

      @KenchanKrafts 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sajjadhusain4146 I agree, too! :D They're much more well behaved! I would get Sailor inks over Colorverse (at least the tiny bottles) any day :)

      @@sajjadhusain4146 I totally agree, too xD Sailor Shikiori line is VERY very good quality ink that flows well in almost any pen. You never know what you'll get with a colorverse or especially a FWP ink, so I'd get Sailor's inks any day over Colorverse. :D Sailor is expensive, but their quality is justified.

      @@KenchanKrafts We’re completely in sync on this. I’ve sometimes commented elsewhere that Sailor inks (and certainly Sailor pens) are my firm favorites. The Shikiori line is truly lovely and a clear class above very many other brands’ bottled inks today. Colorverse doesn’t even remotely compare in quality or appeal. Sailor’s Manyo line is also fantastic - and affordably priced, to boot. Some of Sailor’s 50 state inks were also top drawer stuff. The Studio line is huge - with the inevitable hits and misses. But still some excellent inks to be had.
      I just finished writing with the Manyo Ume in a Sailor KoP. ❤️

    • @KenchanKrafts
      @KenchanKrafts 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sajjadhusain4146 Indeed!! ^_^ My Sailor pens almost always will only get Sailor inks :D They're made for each other. That Ume ink is a lovely dark red brown ink. I love their bottles and the saturation. Their drier Manyo and Studio inks go in my very wet gold nib Leonardos. Whenever I smell that Sailor chemical scent, lol, I know it's going to be a great ink! Which King of Pen do you have? I have yet to find my KoP grail!

    A bit too expensive for what's it worth. I'd prefer kwz honey for this color.

    • @BlakesBroadcast
      @BlakesBroadcast  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I will have to try KWZ honey. 60ml for $15 is a great price. Do you know if it is PH neutral?

    • @PalashBackup
      @PalashBackup 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BlakesBroadcast Unfortunately the information about the exact pH anywhere. There were problems with older formulations of their IG inks, but that is old news. Since 2018, it is safe for latex sacs and vintage pens.
      Did I mention that it smells of vanilla? It is a match made in heaven for the 823 Amber, especially in B nib.
