- What do you think of this hot little "Sprint 289" 1965 Ford Falcon? Few of the Sprint models were made. It is powered by a built 289 with a Holley bbl, carburetor, aluminum intake, and custom free-flowing dual exhaust system. The performance street cam sounds excellent. Enjoy the video of this classic little Ford Muscle car. Thanks for SUBSCRIBING & LIKING Samspace81, your home for classic car road tests & vintage car road trips, inspections & vlogging.

For an economy car...the Falcon is drop dead georgous! The 289 V8, my absolute favorite V8. Small block high revs (for its era) and very torquey...my opinion one of Ford's best engines
Oh I agree!
The 64/65 Falcon hardtop body started as a design proposal for the Mustang.
That is how you are supposed to treat a classic like that. Take care of it and drive it. No bells or whistles, just Ford built performance. My Uncle Pat, RIP, had one, It was a bit darker tan color. I remember my first ride in the car with him going through the gears. It made me who I am now. The funny thing is that the car belonged to my Grandmom first, she was a music teacher and drove it to school every day before she turned over the keys to him. I appreciate the reminder and my small trip through time. Thanx.
Memorable Falcon 💯
Absolutely gorgeous. Simple performance upgrades .Kept very close to original. That small block kitty purrs nicely. Very sharp car. Well done sir!
It was a clean one. Thanks for watching 👀
Whata Kewl ride. These era Falcons remind me of a baby Galaxie. Love um.
Me too, I call them Fords Nova lol
Beautiful! 1965 was one of the best years for Ford/Lincoln Mercury. Across all models.
Agree 👍
Beautiful Falcon! Sounds great!
Appreciate you checking it out Richard
Wow! What a beauty! I’d love to own something like this before I die! 👍✌️🇺🇸
Better get one they get more & more expensive
My parents built this car for me as a Sweet 16 birthday gift in 1983. I got married in 1995 and bought a new house in 2000. We sold the car to help furnish the new house. I had always hoped to find the car and get it back once my kids were grown and gone. My Dad found the eBay listing recently, only to find out that it had already sold. I sure hope that whoever is lucky enough to have this car will baby it like I did.
+Tina Twillman I remember, I am so sorry you missed it Tina. Thanks for sharing. - Sam
+Tina Twillman Great story! So sorry you had to part with this beauty. The new owner is very lucky.
Hi Tina, I own the car now, she is a beauty!
Tina Twillman
Nice.
I was given tools to work on the body of my 65 ss impala...
Time to buy her back where she belongs
Dad had a 63-4 sprint
Silver. Manual w/ black interior
And sold it for a ... 67 mustang fastback...
Fantastic Falcon!
Facu Ramone Thanks for checking it out! Sure is
samspace81 my favorite year of falcon...beautiful. !!!
Facu Ramone ok
Watched it again.
Very very nice.
I've built 64-5s with Fox FI T5. 👍👍👍👍👍😎😎
Happy to have your viewership, Ray
Left taillight lens needs a quarter turn counter clockwise. Not a big fan of the steering wheel, but the rest is 100% rock&roll.
Maindrian Pace is everyone from Arizona a fucking knit picking critic? Jesus Christ I hate driving my 66 around town. Everyone’s always saying something.
Very nice Car, from North Germany ;)
Appreciate your viewership
Great looking Falcon !! 😉👍👍
Thanks Sonny
From Argentina...congratulations
Thanks from Texas
Esos es una re nave aguante Ford falcón un caño y buen video saludos!!!
Love Falcons, appreciate you 🙏
My first car was a 65 Falcon Sprint. Awful quick, so much fun to drive. Had a souped-up Shelby 289, used to run it on 109 octane VP racing fuel. I don't want to know what that would cost per gallon today. Restoration was never completed--was missing some trim. Broke my heart when I had to sell it back in the early 90s. Would have loved to have made it as pretty as this one. What a sharp car!
Thanks for sharing, Brett
Beautiful
That was a nice one
Beautiful falcon best years 64 65
Couldn't agree more!
i love it..........................................steve-o
¡ MADRE SANTA QUE HERMOSO AUTO !
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much for watching, Nicolas
I'ma get one as a daily driver
Nice to see the ac still intact. Most people pulled them out.
Agree, thanks James
The first and second gen Falcons did not have integrated HVAC. If you wanted AC in a 65 Falcon you ordered it at the dealer and it was a dealer installed (under dash) option. If you look underneath the dash of a non-AC Falcon from that time you'll see the threaded bolt holes where an under-dash AC unit can be mounted.
When it was new the Falcon was one of the smallest cars offered by a US manufacturer. Looking at it driving next to modern cars it looks enormous.
muy. bueno gracias.
Thanks Gerardo
Great looking car especially the chrome plated die cast zinc instrument panel. Air conditioning seems to have been pretty unusual for a falcon at that time. Although considered a compact car in Ford's line up it appears to be larger than just about all full sized cars of our era.
Instrument clusters are plated plastic. 😱
Awesome info thanks
The Falcons with the front bench seat were considered to be six passenger cars.
The Mustang shares the same platform as the Falcon, engine sounds NICE!
Sure did
The 65/66 Mustang and the 64/65 Falcon were pretty much the same car under the skin.
mustang was just a falcon in fancy dress, still it is a million times nicer than modern 😪😴 BORING EVs that are everywhere by the dozen, the E mustang is just F**King HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the appropriate wheels... get so tired of the new customs.
Thanks for watching & leaving a comemnt
my son just got one to work on for christmas.

I have 1965 Ford Falcon dealer's promo model car that matches that! I'm interested in selling.
Beautiful
Old Aussie Falcons look so cooler.
They are cool as well
Because Oz never got the Mustang so the Falcon was used as a platform for Ford Oz performance rides.
Nice Falcon . Loose the rev gauge .Cheers.

Appreciate you watching, Ray
Just watched it again.
👍👍👍👍👍👍🔔🔔
I fell asleep...how'd it end?
With the boring old man driving it still! He was a bump on a log, worked with him for many years.
The only thing I’d do is change to LED headlights 👍
Thanks so much for watching, love these Falcons
I had a '64 Falcon with a 170 cu. in. 6 cyl. It may have been a Sprint...not sure. Did they make Sprints with 6 cyl. engines?
no they did not !
Sprints were 289. They may have converted it to inline 6 in the 70s with the gas prices.
I have a 289 66 mustang 5 lug Manuel . That had a inline 6. Now it’s a 289 c4.
Soon it will be a 302 four speed. But I’ve been too busy it’s a hold til March 2018
Cars been through a lot of changes.
sunking2001 Pontiac had a HiPo 6-cylinder back in the late 60s. A friend of mine had one. 4-barrel & 4 speed! Can’t imagine what it would be worth today
In a Firebird
Sexy... owned one ☺️
Awesome 👌
I think the Sprint model ended in 1964.
Robert Landry. Wrong. I had a gold one just like this one.
Wrong, I have had 2 65 Sprints
Only 3,106 Sprints total (600 Convertibles) were produced in 1965 (US). The 3 speed Cruise-O-Matic was an option. The Sprint that year was not even mentioned in any Ford brochures. The 289 V8 produced 200 hp. and was available in the Falcon Sprint in late 1964. There were only a handful of '64 Sprints with the 289 ci engine in them. The 289 was also available in the standard Futura in 1965 and that badge outsold the Sprint handily.
Great info thanks Tom
Ese sonido ronco grave de un Ford no tan rasposo cono el chevy
Appreciate you watching - SAM
Nice Falcon hardtop and it is not a Futura nor a Sprint. Always research these well, the identifying equipment and vin will reveal the truth of what the car is and isn't. It is a looker and has some pep to it.
It was a Sprint if I remember right
Wind noise ruined it for me. Other than that, good video.
Yeah I hate wind noise my bad
HOW much is this car [FALCON] now?? Pleace someone teaches me
GREETING FROM TOYAMA CITY IN JAPAN by saka
Long sold
@@samspace81 Thank you to teach me,
my freiend had [FALCON] in young age,
25 years old
A car you can work on without all that computer crap on it.
I put Fox crap into mine. LOL
Yessir
Right away a fake car.......Falcon Sprint came with Borg Warner top loader 4 speed......not a 2 speed automatic....or even a c4 3 speed auto......
In 1965 the Auto Trans was an option. Research it thoroughly.
I had a 65 sprint.
1st car I ever owned
289 4 barrel
3 speed cruiseomatic automatic transmission
3:07 geared 8 inch rear end.
When I bought it.
351 4 barrel Windsor motor out of a 69 mach one
C4 three speed automatic
And a 9 inch ford rear end with 3:90 gears when I was finished with it.
Sold it to a friend of mine whose girlfriend totaled it 2 weeks later
Car was pretty quick, bought the motor out a junkyard, had to put headers on it to get it to fit.
Don't know what the internals on it was but it wasn't stock
Not a fake
Very nice car but I don’t get the tacho it is far from a beast seems a waste to me.... almost get the feeling you may be a bit delusional as to what the car actually is?
Tach looks cool, small blocks rev
The poor man's Mustang great car
