Bangkok may have been called,"The Venice of the Orient" in the old days, but after seeing this video, it pretty much can be called, "The Amsterdam of the Orient".
Thanks very much Pat, this was the perfect video for me tonight as I really needed the chill out. I think a lot of us really appreciate the music you put to the videos. I still think Rainy Night in Yaowarat Rd is one of your best.
I'll keep it simple Pat. I ❤it when you do a POV vlog with relaxing ambient music. I prefer watching it in the first person. It's the next best thing to being there, when you're not there 🙏
Loved this video Pat. Very calming to watch but probably not for you when you were making it 🤣🤣🤣. Night tours for tourists on the klongs is a great idea. Hope it takes off.
I thought the Canal looked clean, thought I was in Paris for a sec, Great lights along the way. Nice Cruise. Good Tunes also, thanks Pat, Thought about Wai-ing Motifs under that triangle lit source.,
The boat route is 4.5km and it's definitely walkable and they are currently building a proper walking path alongside the whole canal. New video on the whole route and boats coming in a few days.
Ticked this off the walking list after watching this. Great video. My gf and I are thinking of playing a Bangkok Pat mentions 'Klong San Saep' in his video drinking game 😂
Thanks Pat, I live a little far from there and am not allowed to go out at night anyway, so it is nice to see the night lights of central Bangkok thanks to you. I took this boat in July 2021, when this service was starting and free but it might have been discontinued inbetween because of Covid as I did not see boats running the one or two times I was there later. A nice extra is that I could hook my bicycle on the rear deck of these electric boats (I am not sure if you can hook one or two bicycles)
Nice and chill Pat! I tried to hop on at Thewarat Pier about a month ago and they weren't running. I have a photo of the sign saying "sorry, we're temporarily closed but will be back soon". I'll try again soon!
Hi Pat Loved the day time video and this one. Think the night time "cruise" is the better one. Will be in Bangkok from 20 February for a few days, so planning to weave this into our itinerary. Not too sure however as to how to get there. We will probably be staying in Thonburi - Heaven House near ICONSIAM. Love to meet up
Hello Pat, this looks great! Is this restricted to particular canal boats only? Can others with boats use these canals? Good and interesting vlog! Thanks!
Great video as always Pat. Love the ambient music throughout. On another note did anyone hear the similarities at the very beginning of the video, to the opening of the Eastenders theme tune? 😅
Aha. These were those weird looking boats with the blunt fronts and solar panels on the roofs that were traveling north-south - the canal crosses the Saen Saep at Bobae Market. Unlike the Saen Saep canal boat line this line isn't marked on Google Maps (maybe someone should do it?) though the piers are marked.
Thank you for the video. As the boats were not running on my last visit, the boat ride is clearly on my list for my next stay. Doing this trip after sunset seems to be a nice option. When does the last boat leave Thewet?
Ah, yes I didn't mention but I have a proper full video of the route coming in a few days time. Last boats run at 7pm at either end, but the night market is until 5th April so it's 10pm. Details in the map pinned to comments too.
I remember a dinner cruise on New Year's Eve in 2000, I don't know why all the Thais on the boat stood up and started shouting as soon as we passed under one of the bigger bridges, I don't know why they did it but it but it ruined it for the rest of us who weren't interested in screaming
So nice to watch a BKk travel blog without listening to a whiny, high pitch voice from a 20 -30 year old wanna be TH-cam blogger commenting every 5 seconds “Wow!” …”Cool!”… “Awesome!”…blah blah blah.
Just a thought here. First, I know just about zero in the production of video making. As I watched your video. I was thinking it would of been nice if you slowed the speed of the video where groups of people had gathered.
Interesting you say that as l thought about that but it was too late, was going to slow it down a bit more, but for this type of video l have tp bear mind the attention span of viewers.

Canal and river boats seem to glide by traffic without a care in the world. Such inspiring beauty in the midst of the busy city. Thanks for this !
Thanks mate😎
I now have 1 more thing to do when I return. You have enriched my own, and I'm sure many other's, Bangkok experience. Thank you so much.
The most relaxing way to travel is by boat in my opinion, great music too, so even more relaxing. Thanks for posting :)
Very nice combo of magic of light and magic of the night !!! Thank you
The way the lights hit the water is nice
Bangkok may have been called,"The Venice of the Orient" in the old days, but after seeing this video, it pretty much can be called, "The Amsterdam of the Orient".
Enjoying this video with my newly bought air pods pro 2 and smoking some good godfather Og indica strain. Perfect.
Those are very ideal conditions John😎
Missing that Bangkok vibe 😢
Looks like a lovely ride! It wasn't even there when I last visited BKK. Another great way to cross the city where the trains don't go.
Thank you for this ! When I look at this I feel strangely homesick. I Don't know why, i've never lived there ! But I miss thailand I soon as I leave
BKK is the must go to place. I love their night markets & now this boat trip is a must do when I'm back there.
While it's still free!
@@BangkokPat True. Like anything being free it will be a thing of the past.
Thanks very much Pat, this was the perfect video for me tonight as I really needed the chill out. I think a lot of us really appreciate the music you put to the videos. I still think Rainy Night in Yaowarat Rd is one of your best.
Thanks Shaun, the music based ones are often overlooked!
a year ago i visited mahanakon sky bar after watching a video, this year in june i'm going to do this canal boat trip, thanks, it's a good idea.
Great plan Frank, the boats are free.
Another great video! Love the editing. I've always enjoyed the channel. Thanks!
Cheers Mate!
Very chill video and music 🎶, thank you.
Great content. Very impressive. Thank you.
hello ajarn pat. next river boat tour you should do the chao phraya express and get to the nonthaburi pier there're some interesting out there😊
I plan to at some stage, for sure!
I always enjoy your quality videos, thanks for sharing.
BKK is special at nite but the cruse makes it even more great vlog Pat 👌👌👌
Thanks Jimmy 👍

I enjoyed that trip.
I do love a market.
Which really means I’d rather walk that route at least once to visit the stalls.
The boat route is 4.5km and it's definitely walkable and they are currently building a proper walking path alongside the whole canal. New video on the whole route and boats coming in a few days.
Love the low-light night video.
Some parts were too dark so l left those out!
Beautiful evening canal cruise🤩.
I really enjoyed this video of your. The night scene is beautiful. I really need to get out at night more.
Thanks!
Ticked this off the walking list after watching this. Great video.
My gf and I are thinking of playing a Bangkok Pat mentions 'Klong San Saep' in his video drinking game 😂
I am thinking of doing a bingo card......
@@BangkokPat cats, ghost story told by local, expensive new 'hi-so' development, 1960's architecture....bingo !🤣
Thanks for this... come to thailand/bangkok frequently but always end up doing the same old, will give this a go when I get there in a few weeks.
Great tip, Pat. Will give it a try...Thanks!
Nice to see this Relaxing Video on the Canal with the Electric Boat. 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it Gert 😍
Another great video Pat

Thanks Terri for the support!
Night tour is iconic
I stayed at the Prince Palace hotel the last time i stayed in Bangkok in 2015.
Looks really cool Pat loved the music too,,,
Awesome. Thank you.
Great stuff 😊 must try to get on this boat sometime
Thank you.
Best way to travel between the Pratunam area to the Mall at Bangkapi is the canal boat...about 20 Baht.
Very nice pat 😊
looks awesome - will have to go on that !!!!!
Great video! One more thing on my to do list for when I will be in Bangkok next time. At what time does the last boat go?
Fantastic format! Now I have to check this out. Thanks Bangkok Pat. 🙏🏻 - Jim (in BKK) 👍🏻
Thanks Jim 😍
Looks like a great way to spend an evening 😎👍
It's definitely a good 25 minutes well enjoyed!
I dunno...I've had some pretty spectacular rides at Nana 😅😅😅
But would you do a video of them...or did you already😁
@@BangkokPat 😜
Beautiful Bangkok
Nice video
Cheers!
Very nice boat ride .The canal can enter and exit on both side of the river before they build the watergates.
It used to be the trade route through the city for boats
Great episode!
Cheers Scott! Hope all is good in the Windy City!😎
Love your work Pat 😊 l will do this ride when next in BANGKOK 😊
Cheers Wayne!
Nice! Is that the free electric boat from Hua Lamphong along the Khlong Padung Krung Kasem?
It sure is Derek!
@@BangkokPat Great! Keen to try the electric boat - already been on an electric tuk-tuk around Erawan Museum.
Thanks Pat, great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it, cheers mate 😇
Keep it up ! Great as always! I like these type of videos punctuated amongst the history ones. 🇹🇭❤️🌶
Thanks! More of all types coming soon....
Lovely jubbly!!!
Cheers Bill 😍
Hey Pat, thanks for the relaxing chill vibes of the boat trip. What kind of refreshments do they serve on that vessel?
No refreshments, bring your own!
Hopefully enough for a cupla cups of coffee m8, Thanks!
Cheers Greg!

Amazing
Thanks mate 😎
Well done Mr Pat thank you.. ❤
Excellent visuals Pat 👏

Only these boats use the canal, it's free to use.
Thanks for the tip Pat. Best wishes from Koh Lanta, off to Phuket tomorrow 😊
Cheers Mark, have a great trip mate.
5:46 OMG finally I found my dad! Lost him while playing hide and seek 20 years ago.
You have grear eyesight!
Can you make a video about the serpent?
I will be visiting the locations of this next month for a video

Great video as always Pat. Love the ambient music throughout.
On another note did anyone hear the similarities at the very beginning of the video, to the opening of the Eastenders theme tune? 😅
Really? Haven't watched Eastenders for years!
Oh it was just the beat in the first second, but I haven’t watched it in many years either so maybe I’m way off the mark 😂
Beautiful ❤️
Congratulations on reaching 25k Pat, great news 😊
Thanks so much Richard 😎

ขอบคุณสำหรับมุมมองอันสวยงามที่ผมไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อนมากครับ
Thanks, it's a lovely canal to travel on and around. Soon there will be a nice walkway all the way to the river.
Commenting for the algorithm.

nice one Pat, I didn't know about this. How long does the entire trip take? How often do they run & what time does the last boat leave?
Takes about 25mins and they run every 20mins, they are free. At the moment they run all day weekends but mon to fri only peak hours, 6-9am & 4-7pm
Apologies if i missed it, but what's the schedule? He said he's catching the last boat, so what time would that be? Thanks in advance.
