- My third member of my Sapphire Dream Team Quest has appeared in unexpected circumstances! I was only really testing to see if this hunt would work next to Roamer Latias and it appeared. I got Whismur and then a Zigzagoon on the first and second phase which have their own videos if you'd like to watch those.
Taillow is such a cute Pokemon and I love its shiny. The green and orange combination always hits. Next up is Ralts which will hopefully be a kind hunt but who knows...

Can I please get a clear explanation on how to shiny hunt using the repel trick? I'm still confused.
@@knightriff9471 You need a lot of repels and a Pokémon at the same level as the highest possible level in the area then use that Pokémon at the front of your party, since some Pokémon are found at different possible levels and since repels only repel Pokémon at a lower level than you, then you can force certain spawns or eliminate spawns you don't want
ie. you are shiny hunting for bidoof on route 201 in platinum, starly are at levels 2-3 and bidof are at levels 2-4, when you use a repel with a level 4 Pokémon, and any possible starly spawns are ignored because they are lower level than your pokemon, but not the level 4 biddof, so you can hunt for only the bidoof
At this point youll be able to have a full team of shiny zigzagoon
I'm collecting the Infinity Zigzagoons.
One day he will say "It will obviously not be shiny" and it WILL be shiny.

The odds are exactly the same regardless of the number of resets, so there is a decent chance this could happen
On average with 1/8192 odd hunts it would take 5675 hunts to get his "its not a shiny" shiny

@@TrixAreForKicks You don't have to like the 3D model to like the Pokémon overall, though. Plus, Colosseum had 3D models before X & Y and ORAS, anyway. I get what you mean, but still.

Congrats on the shiny Taillow. You could hear the anguish in your voice when you got that Zigzagoon. Taillow is a gorgeous shiny, but I am a fan of green shinies.

I have always found that IDs with repeating numbers in a row are SUPER lucky. i used to have an ID that was 13313 in XY and my luck was insane. one point, i had 3 shinies in a 15 minute span

Congrats! I'm 2,500 SRs into Charmander on FRLG. The first 2100 were done on one GBA before I couldn't take it anymore and have now added another after depositing my Firered Pokemon into Pokemon Box. It's *so* much faster now, seeing as I just did 400 easily today.

@@MrChip16 oh ok ok, the only full odds hunt I've done was shiny celebi in virtual console, it was aweful, I don't know how these guys do it.
@@dantealexander9863 so true, i've had a few accidental full odds shinies (ie: roselia, zubat, and rockruff) and those were after numerous replays of each of the games. it's seroiously something else to be that dedicated.

Is it against the spirit of a shiny DTQ to hunt on multiple systems, or is that generally accepted? I have Black and White and wanna do either side by side separate DTQs or double up for the same mons if I feel like it. I already had to trade a shiny Tepig from White to Black since I double hunted it for example.

Does the battery still work/is it replaced? I’ve tried hunting on a dead battery copy but I leave the game on for a day or two to let more frames pass by, but I don’t know how reliable that is.
You can still do random encounters with a dead battery. You just can't reset for shinies.

Do you mean do I transfer to current gens? No, I prefer the sprites.

Yo! I have a shiny hunting question and I need expert advice from a pro like you. I want to double hunt on HeartGold, White 2 , & Platinum but the authentic cartridges are soo expensive so i was wondering, is it possible to shiny hunt on a reproduction cartridge? 😳 like the ones on ebay for $35 ? Yeah prices are insane at the moment. It's really unfortunate. My best advice to you is to check places people tend to overlook. A lot of my games have come from thrift/charity stores or friends or family. Ask around your family and friendship group as you can normally snag a deal that way. Pawnshops are really good here in the UK for cheap games as well.
As for your question, I really wouldn't advise hunting on fake games. They do produce shinies but they're quite prone to crashing, particularly when saving. It would be awful if you found a shiny and then lost it. There are a few other problems with fake games like not some of them not being able to trade or transfer. Overall I just wouldn't recommend it.

Go to Slateport and come back. You don't need to beat Brawley, just clear Dewford Cave.
