[LIVE] Shiny Safari Zone Chansey CAUGHT after 896 random encounters! (328,930 total)

- Shiny Chansey caught from FireRed LeafGreen Safari Zone. Here's a video I was beginning to think I would never make and upload for you guys to watch. This is by far my proudest and rarest shiny currently in my collection.
I had seen 4 Chansey in total before catching which is a little under the expected amount using the Bait trick though when you consider that I threw a ball at the first one, 3 in total is very generous in terms of RNG. The heartbreak of seeing two of them flee during Safari Week first turn, first bait was horrendous and it did knock my confidence a bit. After a small break, I knew I had to catch her and I wasn't going to stop phasing until I did. Literally two hours after finishing my Roamer Quest on stream, I found her again and well, the video will do the rest of the talking. RNG is cruel but it can be so kind as well. I keep saying this but I don't think I'll ever top that night as a shiny hunter.
Also really random but I was listening to Billie Eilish when I found her. Shout out to you Billie.
In terms of stats;
Chansey #1 took 25 phases to appear totaling 194,086 encounters
Chansey #2 took 15 phases to appear totaling 104,044 encounters
Chansey #3 took 2 phases to appear totaling 12,704 encounters
Chansey #4 took 4 phases to appear totaling 18,096 encounters (caught)
In total - 328,930 encounters to catch her. Proud!

If i found a shiny chansey in LG/FR and it fled on me i would simply never recover from it, would probably never play the game again lol you're a different breed of hunter!
Dude, I once SR over a shiny starter in XY that isn't even full odds full odds and it took me almost a year to recover from that 😅 (fr spent almost a year not hunting anything)
Not for anything shiny Chansey is green, full willpower
well chansey has a low catch rate and appearance so its almost par for the course to have then flee HAJSHS
@@serenitynow85 By SR over a starter, do you mean at the beginning of the game? If so, that is full odds, so I can understand the pain.
@@ShinyBuzzwole it was a Kanto starter from Sycamore. I mean, technically yes, it is full odds by modern Pokémon standards. But I'm used to actual full odds hunts (gen2-gen5)

Chansey: 5.3% encounter rate. 100/5.3=18.87, so chansey is 1-in-18.87 seen on average. 1/8192 odds, 1-in-154,566 pokemon seen is shiny chansey. You found 4, that's ~620k pokemon seen (on average). Insane dedication!
Such a journey to even encounter one, catching one is something you will always talk about 😳

Yes, it does. When I first got into shiny hunting, I began with method hunts in the newer games, never thinking I'd have the stones to do full odds... A couple weeks ago I finally got shiny Turtwig in Diamond after finding two Starly's. I thought I was going to die when it happened. Truly potent elixir.

honestly full odds shiny hunting is one hell of a drug

this is the peak of shiny hunting, finding that chansey, let alone catching it is a HUGE achievement. Once in a lifetime opportunity, congrats!

Everyone knows your biggest claim to fame is the first Shiny Ranger Manaphy, but a captured Shiny Chansey is always good to see.

Good work, it takes some serious willpower to keep hunting after all those fails, but I’m sure it so satisfying finally getting one. People sometimes question why you would hunt in the safari zone, but the feeling of catching such and a elusive and hard to catch shiny feels so good.
