Googie is an inspirational treasure and I just love her no nonsense charge through the garden. She should have her own garden show with her wit and intelligence. Cheers from Australia.
I'm sitting on my summer porch, watching the baby rabbits enjoy my clover lawn, while I enjoy your visit with your Mom. I appreciate your Moms wonderful approach to gardening, order without the corset. Self seeders are allowed to do their thing within reason. Now, if I could just convince the rabbits to not reproduce every 28 days. Take a holiday for goodness sake.
A garden is like a friend, often full of surprises and wonderful company. I love Googie's garden which she obviously loves. Just what I needed today, thank you both from New Zealand 🌷
Lovely to see your mother again Georgie she is such a dear. When she mentioned getting stung by bees it reminded me of my episode with wasps. I was cutting a branch of a tree down and didn't realise there was a wasp nest in it. They came flying out chasing me, I got stung three times, I shall remember the brown vinegar next time, although I hope there won't be a next time. Your mother does have a wonderful garden as do you.
Your mama is so beautiful. I love to see you & your mama touring the beautiful garden. I miss my mama so very much. You are extremely lucky to have yours here to enjoy the garden walks. Love to you both, greetings from Lake Garda
What a wonderful video, that certainly brought a smile to my face. Thank you Georgie. Thank you also Googie for showing us around your beautiful garden. Lots of love to you and hoping that your husband has recovered. ❤
Delightful as always. I love the banter between you. Reminds me of myself and my daughter! We have laughter every day. Thankyou for taking us around the wonderful Googie's garden xx
Always so much to learn from your precious Mum, what a dear she is and I especially loved that creeping nasturtium type vine growing through the copper beech, I think it was, my regular nasturtium are crawling all over my south facing deck here in Alaska, I could cut them back, but like your Mum would say, "Why would one want to stop nature", absolutely loved you and her and all her many surprises around each bend, thank you both 😊
'BROWN VINEGAR! BROWN VINEGAR!' yells Googie! I had to laugh! I'll now remember it as a remedy for bee stings. Vinegar is also what we use here in Oz when we are stung by our huge blue jelly fish! We always pack a picnic for the beach, and everyone with any sense slips a bottle of vinegar into the basket - just in case, because this is Oz, and you have to be prepared to be bitten on the bum by something nasty! Ouch!
So grateful for your brown vinegar drenched on a dishcloth and then poulticed on a bee sting site, advice. I have heard of vinegar being used on Australian beaches for their dastardly jellyfish.
Again, what a treat to visit Googie. Love the magic of her garden. By the way the asters are early here ( New Hampshire) too. And the golden rod has been blooming here for two weeks already. My dear elderly neighbor used to tell me that there were six more weeks till the first frost, and she was never wrong! Thank you!!
Lucky you Googie, beautiful garden with all that England green, here in central Italy with this heat wave everything look so miserabile. Love from Rome❤
I love your visits to your mum's garden. I think I read once that the story of Mrs Wilmot's ghost was that she used to secretly drop the seeds of her Eryngiums in people's gardens hence Mrs Wilmot's ghost.
he hydrangeas were abdolutely incredible this year, but everything has been in a huge rush. It's currently more like late August than late July. Love the tour 💚
I'm with Goodie on that, I don't like orange in my garden. Until recently even yellow was forbidden. But with time a few golden lovelies have crept in:). You and Googie are such a team:). Enjoyable tour as usual.
Ahhh lovely Francoa ! ( the one you thought looked like saxifrage) Mine got out competed in a shady spot and I do miss it !! Gorgeous plant though so hope you get some seeds. If not Knoll Gardens will mail order you a plant as they're online and that's where I got mine. ❤
The Francoa is nice and seems to be coping with the cold, also known as the wedding bouquet plant because in it’s native land that is what it is used for
A keen gardener myself, i would love a tour of Googie's garden. Gardener's World quality + . The dogs tooth violet is erythronium. Sit on a bench and enjoy.
it's a v simple recipe - poach cod loin in milk with black pepper, bay leaves, and nutmeg if you like it. when the cod is cooked flake it into a baking dish and add big fat cooked prawns. Make a roux with the milk - enough to cover the fish in the baking dish. Cover the fish in the baking dish. Meanwhile boil whole potatoes with their skins on until cooked. Drain and mash the potatoes and fork roughly onto the surface of the fish keeping the surface knobbly so that it browns nicely in the oven. A few dabs of butter on top and grated cheese if you like. Bake in a hot oven - from 180 to 200 degrees c will do for about forty minutes, or until the surface of the tato is nicely browned. Supper! We serve with garden peas or beans or whatever is to hand. enjoy! x
I love these visits to your Mother’s garden, she is a delight, and you’re nice too.
Thankyou x

It’s such a beauty x
Love you Googie and Georgie! How long has Googie lived at this property?
she's been there thirty years and created the garden out of a soggy field x
Love , love googie

Love these tours but please please please can you get Googie a microphone too?
yes I need to replace the mics - Googie is always marching off and I must get her a mic x
Does Googie know she’s loved around the gardening world?
oh yes x
Brown vinegar for bees
yes x
Does Google grow Sweet Annie? If she does and makes tea could she share her recipe?
I'll ask her - though I think not - she's not a great maker of tisanes from her garden x
Poor Googie! Were they bees that attacked her or possibly wasps? The dark side of gardening....
Deff bees xxx
Georgie the one you thought was monarda... is it not agastache? X
