In Class with Carr, Lesson 187: Self-Determination in the Silences

  • It is Indigenous People’s Day weekend and Amiri Baraka’s birthday. Dr. Carr and Karen discuss self-determination. It’s in the Social Structure’s narrative silences that our Governance formations peek out to grow. How do we nurture self-determination and self-sufficiency when the “Master Narrative” enforces silences about those subjects except when we are used as footnotes in its memory and vision? We are showing that we can and do convene in the seams of the Social Structure and in those seams-those silences-we find each other and build. #FearlessFund #ICWC #CivilWar #IdigenousPeopleDay

The conversation b4 going into what's happening @ the Daily Show hits different on a Monday.
I believe in prophetic ministry & the conversation about the war being declared in reference to what's going on in Africa (won't call it the "Middle East" because that's social structure language)between Palestinian & Israel.
I was amused when Netanyahu declared war against Hamas but as Dr Carr said....he really didn't need to do that because they've been "at war" with the Palestinians since the 70s & BEEN killing them since then, with the backing of US & EU weaponry.
When people are tired of having a foot on thier necks they would rather die on thier feet then live on thier knees.
I continue to be educated...THANK YOU BOTH

"You can't catch stolen labor money by going to the stolen labor money and asking for it back". Almost lost my mind when I heard that part, Dr. Carr- (even though I have been saying the same thing for years) - when you put it like THAT..... !!! Greetings and many thanks, Prof. Karen Hunter and Dr. Carr. Writing to you from Poland.

I am standing with Humanity thank you Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr for this gem of African Studies today
I'm grieving within my being for the Palestinian People. The narrative that the warmongering folk are embracing is shocking the Colonists &Settlers are the true beasts. The venom that Lindsey Graham spit out to a reporter is tragic. When his time comes to transition from this planet who will record his deeds&wicked willful intentions?

When I dancing at Alvin Ailey I use to hang out at Babatunjis loft in the Gap building in Manhattan. Sometimes we would go to art openings or the theater to see dance. I told him my grandfather was from Seire leon. And he fought in the civil was. He was a cook on a Navy Ship. And when I was little I remember seeing his blue uniform in my grandmothers basement. He looked at me and said..The civil war in this country never ended. I later designed his cd cover. Real talk.. that white woman you had on the other day. She does not want civil war to upset her life "civil war go's on a long time" her words. But its ok for us to be trapped in it. She can take her responsibilities and go scratch. The end
