It's an intense and beautiful song brother. Always brings a tear. MORE touching in the context of her long, on/off relationship with Lindsey Buckingham. Here is a lovely performance of them together: th-cam.com/video/I4bWNjoteoQ/w-d-xo.html

Don't feel embarrass this song touches the emotions of thousands of people who hear it or heard because it brings up the vulnerability and fragility humans feel in this world pain and loss......a broken relationship.....a death of a loved one......getting older and feeling closer to Death.......the fear of change because it is unknown to the newness that lies ahead....devolvement in life....the touches the glass menagerie we humans feel in life......so.....you are not the only one who has cried hearing this song!!!! Great reaction!!!

This is one of Stevie's finest performanes and I do love this song, but it also owes a lot to Lindsey Buckingham's exquisite guitar work - he is so underrated and no matter how fractious their relationship was, their work together was amazing!

Watch Kyrsty Adamson, daughter of Stuart Adamson (Big Country). Her cover of 'In a Big Country'. Her guitar sounds just like L.B. and her voice is incredible.

Lindsay under-rated? Pfff Stevie supported him financially for years before they joined Fleetwood Mac. Yes he is talented, but he put his talent above her aspirations and skills.

When lyrics mention building your life around someone and children getting older as well as yourself, it immediately causes one to reflect-and get emotional! It’s a beautiful song that stands the test of time for sure.

I've heard it thousands of time. One my personal top ten faves. But after recently having my life crumble after my partner entered a nursing home for dementia and cannot communicate. The line "I built my life around you. Brought tears for the first time. I think that's the thing about this song is it speaks so much to life that it can touch you in different ways at different times, it just comes from a place of honesty.

I have cried to this song for decades. It’s absolutely a tearjerker. You will cry to it all through your lifetime. Thanks. And like several said, do the live version, when they’re older, especially when you get older. It will resonate deeply, her matured worldliness, raspiness and richness.

Oh, this was such a tender song - when it first was released, I was broken up with a fellow and we were at the same party when this came over the radio. I felt the heartbreak, let it wash over me, and then moved on to be okay. Music is one of those things of the human condition that can make us laugh, weep, wonder, and find clarity.

As you said such beautiful lyrics and Stevie's delivery and the groups music make it even more powerful. The line that you reacted to, "even children get older and I'm getting older too" always struck me as very profound for such an obvious truth; it conveys to me the loss of childhood innocence which gets replaced by the sometimes harsh reality of adulthood (the landslide) and when we think about it hits home. You got to react to the live performance of this song just her and Lindsey Buckingham on acoustic guitar it is just sublime (make sure its the official music video version). Even Lindsey is moved to tears by her singing by the end of the song so your not the only one of us! Anyway thanks for another great and honest reaction.

This song has always been a favorite of mine since I was a kid and it gets more and more poignant the older I get. It’s kind of perfect at capturing the essence of time and it’s effect on us. Rhythmic, relentless, circular. You’re born, you grow bolder and older and try to leave your mark on the world but eventually time sweeps it all away, no matter who you are. Great piece of music.

Ive been watching reaction videos here on TH-cam because I love seeing young people discover some of the best music I grew up with and love so much. My step daughter is 22 now and we brought her up listening to all of this so when she meets kids her age that haven’t heard a band like Fleetwood Mac she loses it. “You haven’t heard them? I really like that you do some research on the songs before you hear and react to them ... that sets you apart from so many of the other reaction videos.

I heard "Rumours" at a friends when it 1st came out...as a young teen I went to buy the vinyl but couldn't remember the album name, just a vague idea of the cover design. So I ended up buying the earlier album with this tune on it. It's like spun glass, delicate and jewel like...I've listened to this tune ever since. I think "Rumours" is the better album....but not by much !

Late to the comments here but you'd have to be made of stone not to feel something during this song. 😍
