The look doesn't bother me, it's more that the paint isn't flat when it dries. That would drive me beyond insane just seeing the elevated drips on the wall. Maybe that's just me though.

In case y'all haven't noticed, this video was 3 years ago. No, I don't regret it. I love the way it looks. Secondly, the reason I didn't paint both sides is because I wanted to paint the other side using a different method, which I did in 2013 (water guns). Do I regret this? No. Do I like it? Yes. Waste of money? People out there throwing money on drugs, and I get criticized because I spend money on a video project of me painting my room? Don't agree with me? Okay! Don't paint your room this way. Simple. Instead of cussing me out because I painted my room.. in my house... with my paint... that I bought with my money. Some of y'all out there acting like I killed someone. I don't wanna have to approve comments, but dang some of y'all are harsh. Chiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllll.
Good on you, this is an amazing idea I'm thinking of doing it for my room, ignore them it's up to you what you do with your money and your room. Tbh it's a brill idea and the water guns! So creative 💖

***** I did something like this to my room in high school (the deal was when I went to college I had to paint it whatever color my mom wanted) so right before I went to college it was time to paint we ended up sandpapering the walls by hand to get the paint drippings so it would be ok to paint over.. Just wanted to give you the heads up! This looks great!!

I'm gonna make a video about this, but I figure I'd write it here first...
Addressing those who think I should disable comments:
1) You're allowed to have an opinion. I try my best to monitor comments, but there are so many, and I miss some. Also, I'm not very active on TH-cam as much as I used to be. You can see my uploads have been lacking (I'm trying to get better)! So when I do log on, there's a ton of comments to go through, but I read as many as possible. I automatically delete ones that mention any sort of suicide or killing yourself, whether it's directed at me or other viewers. Please tag me if you see this. I don't want that on my channel in any shape or form. Don't ask me how painting a room led to comments like that, but there have been a few. Otherwise, I invite others to share their opinion in a mature manner. Yeah, I know this is TH-cam, and it's not going to happen all the time, but I fight for what I believe is best.
2) I don't try to avoid criticism at all; I actually invite constructive criticism because it helps me grow and others who watch my videos as well. Honestly, that's what TH-cam is about: People criticizing your work, whether it's art, comedy, make-up, gaming, etc. I understand once you put your face out there on social media, it automatically becomes a platform for others to discuss what they like and don't like. Even though this is the case, and I know I'm a very small person in the world, I try to help others understand the difference between constructive criticism and bullying. There is a huge difference as you know. Indeed it is rude and arrogant, and I can handle that fully. Otherwise, well, I wouldn't have videos! The reason why I tend to respond to others isn't necessarily to defend myself, but rather in hopes to change their perspective on word choice, not for my sake, but for other TH-camrs as well. I think that if you can't handle harsh comments that viewers say, then you shouldn't have a TH-cam channel, but there are so many instances in which people who are mentally unstable put themselves out there, and still continue to put up videos even though they're allowing comments to get to them. People say, "Well it's the internet - what do you expect? It's not gonna change." How sad is it that we have accepted this? Not me.
I realize I'm going to fail with this mission about 99% of the time, but if I can change one person's view on it, then so be it, and I will consider that a victory.
When I put this video up, it was all about painting my room "the cool way" (I'm such a dork). Now, I'm almost four years older, and it means so much more than that; expanding creativity levels and thinking outside the box to some. Taking risks and not caring if people like it or not. It's just a video about a girl painting her room the way she wants. I wish you could see all the hate mail I get for this; it's entirely unnecessary, but like I said: I can take it. Some can't, and for that reason, I try to be a voice for them in any way possible. I've reached a lot of people with this video.. strangely enough.. especially younger ones who are very susceptible to bullying. I can't keep them off of their computers, so I try to define the difference between constructive criticism/opinions and bullying.
Lately, I have felt very passionate about this, and I intend to act on it.
Again, have your opinion.. seriously, it's what makes you, you. You're a rockstar, and I love you, whether or not you like my room. Let's be friends.

I would've watered down the paint a bit to thin it out. I think it would've splattered better
Any other idea cause I want to do that when my family move into a house where we allow to paint the walls. I don't want paint lumps cause it would look weird and be hard to get off I rather want my walls to be smooth.
Water will mix best with latex paint. Paint thinner only works with oiled based products

It turned at really cool! I I were you, however I would use a more simple color palette! Use colors that look well together. For instance beige and blush...or teal and a light blue...even green and white!

I think the result looks like a disaster, because there are way too many drips, which are really ugly, and the spatters look unintentional because they don't cover enough of the wall. It might look like modern art if you could prevent paint from dripping down the wall, and if the paint spatters hugely like you fearlessly mean it. There have been artists who painted a large canvas by throwing cans of paint at it with help from a jet engine, which made for big, widespread spatters.
I think the way to do this is to splash paint from a ladder onto a canvas on the floor. (Then you mount the canvas on the wall.) If the house goes on the market, that style of art must be removable (but not necessarily removed). Not only would you want to take your artwork with you, but potential buyers may not like it.

Just as there is nothing worse than a touch-up that looks like a touch-up, there is nothing worse than a work of art that looks like vandalism or an accident, because of the *glaring flaws inherent in unintentional results* (e.g. drips & poor coverage). I have seen a mural of that style of art. The splashes are balanced in size, shape, spacing, and color, with none of those nasty, ugly drips. If it looks like any kid could do it, then it looks amateur and homemade. If it looks like it took skill, then it looks professional.

i did something similar to my room when i was like 12... worst.decision.ever. i grew out of it pretty fast and to repaint it, you had to sand it because the paint drips were bumpy and it was all so uneven. it was such a pain in the ass it took me several days and my arms were dead tired 0/10 would not recommend

I would have only used one color. Because they clash some, but if you like it go for it! :)
Really cute idea but if anyone wants to do this here is a tip. Thin the paint out so that you get better coverage. If you don't thin out the paint then you are going to end up with really thick runs, like you can see here. When you get tired of the paint splat look and want to repaint the room again then you will have to sand down all the old runs or when you repaint it you will still see the runs (not the old colors). Just a thought.

+Monika R hi! so i get a ton of comments on this and my water gun painting about how clumpy the paint would dry on the wall. Believe it or not, the walls are pretty smooth! It dried perfect; there's no brown on my wall from the colors mixing or anything. Again, the walls are a LOT smoother than people think. Just a tiny bit of sanding will do the trick! I absolutely love this room, and it's still there to this day.
I think it looks awesome! people are being so cruel to a young girl. she's lucky to have a mom that lets her daughter be artistic and paint her room the way she wants. spoiled? no. all I see is a girl spending time with her non judgmental mother.

Im sorry but thats ugly and messy, and a waste of so much paint. There's more on the floor than on the actual wall. I would NEVER do this.
