Finally! A reviewer that doesn’t base the review without being emotional because the iris is missing. I love your review because you don’t base it on a different cologne (DH 2011). I have this and and love it. Why are people hating on this fragrance? Not because it's not good, but only because it doesn't meet their expectations of having that iris note in the original. But I like this change because it's so fresh and so clean (Outkast). Iso-E-Superman. It's the alpha-gentleman fragrance.

Dior Homme Cologne is a fantastic fragrance. Only 3 listed notes, but it is top summer fragrance. I might have to try this in spite of the low ratings it has received. Dior is just too good with their frags.
I like the 2020 version ive got the Intense which is more cold weather but the Dior Sport the newest addition smells alot like the 2020 Dior Homme to the point that having both would be redundant but hay i got both so its a great scent, the Iris Intense version i rate as s masterpiece.
I'm quite disappointed by the superficiality that this fragrance usually gets by reviewers. I appreciate that you went against the flow, giving your sincere impressions. Dior homme is the way Dior think a man should smell most of the time, and the 2011 was not selling enough because of its flankers. Most people just buy 1 or 2 fragrances, and usually lipsticky iris is not what they look for. Dior didn't make a bad choice, and exploring this 2020 homme for what it is, could be a pleasant experience. To me this juice has more to tell than what a couple sprays could do. I find it quite interesting in its simplicity!
Agreed 100%, this just smells good, especially if you are into woods and patchouli. Very versatile, yes it goes better clean cut but you can also wear it rugged and casual. Fragrance snobs always talk about how “basic” something is, but a cologne doesn’t have to have a billions notes to make it special and Dior really did something good here.
I just got the DHI 2020 version and fortunately that one is very similar to the 2011 formulation. I find the whole DH line to be classy, elegant and more unisex than masculine. It is considered to be one of the best fragrance lines on the market and I think that anyone should at least try it (both men and women).
I absolutely HATE iris in fragrances. Just personal preference. I might have to try this now! I blind bought Prada L’Homme because of all the positive reviews and I returned it immediately. I couldn’t wash it off fast enough!
I personally love the 2011 version. When I heard the scent changed I bought a back up bottle. However, it took time to grow on me. I mostly go for very well constructed, high quality daily wear scents because I am in the medical field. So I wear things that aren’t distracting and generally small good, yet are not cheap so they bother patients. One of my favorite daily wear scents is Guerlain Leau Boisee. Basically citrus and woods. This sounds like I need it in my collection.
I agree. I wanted to hate it. Bought it when it came out and didn’t wear it because I wanted to hate it not being the OG. I don't listen to the hype anymore- I've fallen into it just like you and it's lead me down the path. Turns out, if FRAGCOMM hates it, I'll probably love it lol
The projection is low, but it’s a consistent 1 foot scent bubble and last 6-8 hours. It also gives a slight scent trail. Does it announce itself when you are entering a room? No, but if someone comes semi close to you they will pick it up. Also just be aware that if you spray it around your nose (chest, front neck etc) it’s very easy to go nose blind with due to iso-e super.

Your comments are spot-on. This is a sexy, masculine, woodsy-spicy, non-aggressive, top quality fragrance, which nerds enjoy beating up on - but only because they're nerds. The fragrance itself is excellent. A main criticism is that it doesn't break any new ground. But the reviewers who say that praise fragrances which have the same basic DNA as a zillion others, so obviously, they're ridiculous. To me, Dior Homme is unique enough to pop, without being so extreme, it becomes difficult to wear (like Terre d'Hermes). At any rate, Dior Homme threads a lot of needles for me: it's almost all-season, is masculine without turning into a heavy leather/rubber bomb like Gucci Guilty Absolut, it's effortlessly classy, and for any man over, say, 35, who's in his prime and pursuing success, this is a no-brainer. (In this, it is right up there with Tom Ford Oud Wood.) Thanks for the vid.

(In this, it is right up there with Tom Ford Oud Wood.)
Thanks for the vid.
Completely agree! It's so good that women actually wear it because it just smells like Something you want to just keep smelling. Boss ladies can pull anything off though 😉
