I had to give my honest opinion on that. so remember it's just subjective and you might think different and it's fine but always stay polite and kind.

Dior Homme 2020 is a very addictive fragrance imo. Not sure why everyone hates it. Sad

Honestly this new 2020 Dior in my opinion is a bit better than the previous versions. I'm glad the white iris notes are gone. It helps the woods and spices really standout.

I bought the 2020 last year having compared it with Sauvage EDT. During my testing, DH 2020 just worked so well on my skin, and the scent felt so unique. It was projecting quite beautifully well, too. It’s my signature scent, along with DHS 2021 🙂
Great review! I was going to buy the 2020 Dior Homme before watching your video, I've now changed my mind.
I like the new Dior Homme. I had a sample and sprayed it on skin and I had to have it. It smells like power. I have DHI and it smells like I’m going to the nail salon

I'm coincidently wearing the original Homme Intense today. it's the only Dior I have, and to be honest, the only one I feel I need.
I guess we may never know why the range has been so dramatically 'upgraded', but I don't think they've done themselves any favours. There seems to be a very subdued reaction to the new releases, with many reviewers not really impressed. Such a shame that at a time when fragrance has, arguably, never been bigger, that they would make such an error of judgement.
Ah well, my bottle of Intense was bought just before the new releases, so I'll be smelling delicious for a while yet :-D

I believe the pre-reformulation one is still sold on the Dior website (at least here in the UK) as Dior Homme Original but not sure for how long. At least they haven’t messed with the Intense or Parfum (yet) - I only have DHP but want to try the rest of the line because I love love love it, although it’s not an every day sort of scent.

My sentiments exactly Clemence and the DH line are my favourite designer fragrances. If they'd have released this as it's own thing I wouldn't be bothered but to put this out as the new DH? It has nothing in common with the original and just smells like many other things out there to me. Already got myself a back up & plan to do the same with DHI.

DHO or DHI or DHP are masterpiece but Dior Homme 2020 is a masterpiece on its own. If you detach the image of Dior Homme = Iris, then you will enjoy this fragrance. As we say in French : C'est un parfum incompris. In few years, it will be a classic. I have all Dior Homme lines but this one gave me more compliments than the others. Dare to try it !

I like both but the original 2011 is much nicer, and has a lot more going on. The 2020 isn’t as bad as everyone says, I think they go nose blind to the iso-e super because people at work can still smell it on me after 6+ hours

Dior Homme was my Signature Scent for about... 10? years. First i discovered it when i was 25 (2006) and instantly fell in deep love with it. To this day! It became a little lighter and thinner during the time (slightly reformulated again and again). Now... i first smelled CDHomme 2020... well i like it. But not as Dior Homme. It is a cheerful and flattering scent... no more no less. Borderlining... boring. To... clean? Flat 🤔 Disappears a little in the crowd of all those newcomers from these days. But it is worth a try. Therefore i go very much along with you. Furthermore i like your style and the way you make videos (love that french accent)! Wish you a good, happy and healthy 2021... and a lot to discover in the fragrance-world! Best regards from Bavaria, Germany 😀👋

I and 100% of the fragrance community agrees with you. Dior Homme Original had so much depth, balance, and was just everything it meant to be a "Dior Homme". I am so glad I have a back up bottle.

This was a wonderful video and I enjoyed your take on the old and the new versions. I completely agree with you about the heritage of classic brands and how if they don't seem to be guardians of the old ways and traditions, decisions they make can appear very unseemly, tantamount to a cash grab with the update. While watching this clip, I could imagine you staring at your Dior Homme 2011 bottle, while listening to Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine's Can't Stay Away from You, while considering and lamenting on it's discontinuation. Lovely clip Clemence.

I haven't smelt the new one personally I think it's the safest release from Dior, maybe they knew it was just a nothing fragrance and the only way it could ever sell is to just give it the same name as one of their greatest fragrances ever? I think even young folk will have heard of Dior Homme and would be excited to own it? It's a mystery. It's like Creed releasing an Aventus that's not Aventus it's soiling the name of one of their greatest creations. But it is what it is ey. A shame the original homme was my second favourite after the Parfum. I think you still did a very insightful fair review tho, despite not loving it 🙂 risky from Dior tho as I think it's their brand and heritage which helps them stand out from other houses and if they start tinkering with that just for fast quick sales they may hurt their name

I totally agree with you. Now they also reformulated Dior Homme intens to a watered down version of the original. It lasts about 2 hours on my skin and then it is a faint skin scent. I payed a lot of money for this , but I feel let down by the brand.
Loved this review you have an original point of view and I enjoy your descriptions. Out of interest when you say you will stock up on this one is that for you to just have as a beautiful scent to smell when you want or do you occasionally wear it or do you let friends/others wear it? Thanks😃

I received today an interesting batch of Dior Homme EDT Original. The batch number is 0E01, which means the production date is May, 2020. I bought it from a renowned French online perfume shop. So there is no chance that being a knock-off or fake. It smells identical to 2018 batch (8G01). I noticed both have the same formulation: 12244/A. I really did not think that Dior would keep producing the old formulation of Dior Homme EDT while launching a newer version. To me, the new one has nothing to do with the older version. It is completely a new perfume altogether. The fragcomm is disappointed on this and rightly so. But we hardly make 1% of the total consumers. The rest of the 99% will jump and grab the new bottles just because it is new :)

Dior Homme is my favorite line at the moment and I recently bought backups of the discontinued versions. The new 2020 version 🤦♂️ I think they were trying to make the Sauvage DNA more gentlemanly and it's like they mix it with either TdH or BdC with that earthy quality but it lacks so much of the personality. In my opinion, I think if they took the Dior Homme eau and mixed it with that earthy quality they would have had much more success and personality within the fragrance. Dior Homme eau already has a gentlemanly sophistication, adding an earthiness would have gave it some depth. I just don't understand why. It addition, they reformulated the intense and parfum versions and discontinued original and eau all together expect in 1 boutique in France.
I completely agree with you, it's shame but good to know that Dior Homme 2011 is still available somewhere !
Personally the parfum is the only one from the line that I love, but it's great to get your thoughts on how these compare.

I absolutely adore dior homme(the 2011) not that abomination they replaced it with. I dont know what is going on at those boardroom meetings at Dior, but they have made so many awful decisions over the last 5 or so years with discontinuations, product distribution and constant reformulations 🤷♂️ to me its damaging their image. Thanks for the video.

I adore the original formulation. I understand that certain ingredients become harder to come by, but I do get frustrated when reformulations smell a lot lighter (and different), and then these houses come out with "intense" versions for more expensive prices. Sometimes i think that these intense versions are similar to the originals. Are they trying to fool us, you think? 🤔

Dior Homme 2011 is one of my all time favorite fragrances. 2020 is pretty good, but it is super generic. Dior should have came out with a new Sauvage instead of bringing back Dior Homme

Hello Clémence!, I love your style and honesty to review fragrances... well, I think Olivier Polge (when he was a Master Perfumer of Maison CD) created a masterpiece that did define the Metrosexual man (that was very trend in that moment), and now Mousieur Demachy tries to re define masculinity that is more Lumbersexual (beardy, manly, lumberjack, etc). To me, he made a good job for that reason... anyways greetings from El Salvador :)

Looks like Italians are taking the historical place of french people in fragrance manufacturing. D&G Armani and Versace are doing very well. At least we still have Valentino uomo intense around to buy.

Crap I was misunderstood. To clarify I appreciate any reviewer who commits to a less then a glowing position on a fragrance. I have bought some fragrances based on reviews and wondered if I was smelling the same fragrance Eau D'Italie Bois D'Ombrie I can't find the tobacco in it to save my life. I do get a whole bunch of what reminds me of carrots. So when you rate a fragrance low I take it as don't blind buy sniff first which I respect and appreciate. Based on your opinion of Terre d'hermes I am looking forward to sampling it who am I kidding I will probably end up blind buying that one as well

The Iris use was started by olivier polge in 2005 with first dior homme but all the credit goes to demachy.

@@clemenceccfragrance Pulse point's are a myth with spraying fragrance's , it has been since Victorian times. It doesn't make a difference go check out the science behind it before making recommendations. Your blood pretty much stay's at the same temperature.
I would like to know what's the best Iris fragrance that you prefer ? Personaly, I have Iris Nazarena from Aedas de Venustas and it is one of the most beautiful openings that I know, but sadly, on my skin it does not last long, I mean the Iris... And you can get still Jules, I believe it is listed on their site..Thanks for the detailed review !!

Your review is so on point! Dior homme 2020 smells to me like BDC but without the blue element. It's a nice fragrance but it can get too powdery. It needs more depth like the original. I like it as an alternative to BDC for daily use but Dior Homme 2011 was something else.

For me this smells like a lighter Dior Sauvage, it's got a blue sort of vibe about it if anything it should be it's own Fragrance or a Sauvage Cologne..

I understand all the negtivity, they are all rightful, this isn’t what the Homme line stands for. And the fact it replaces the first Dior Homme is outrageous. That said though, it’s az amazing fragrance. I really enjoy it and people around me do too. It’s just a shame Dior Homme Original is hard to come by.

I think it's still available on the website for a limited time (but not too sure, Dior is quite confusing with that line)
Dior COULD be the greatest fragrances house of all time. Dior homme 2011, Dior Eau Sauvage 1966 and Dior Fahrenheit 1988 is three of the greatest fragrances of all time. And still they had to change it. You should ask them, why they want to be the laughing stock of the fragrances world with these choices.

They will sell only the 2020 in store, you'll see the bottle are different the name is written on the cap for the 2011 version!

It is a shame to reformulate such a classic legend. I can see your pain and I feel your pain. Have they also reformulated the Dior niche line. I used to love Gris Montaigne and I don't know if they have changed it now. The line is now called Maison Christian Dior. Companies should stop doing this, maybe it is cost cutting by Dior. Whatever it may be, it is not good messing with timeless classics like this.

The original is a top ten designer for me. The blend is so addictive, use it often. I’ll sample the new one if the opportunity presents itself, but it’s low priority. Doubt I’ll be impressed. ❤️❤️

I dont understand how you love TDH and hate this. Just don't compare it to the iris version, this is its own fragrance.
Terre dhermes is just so so different to these fragrances to me.

They should change the name from Dior Homme 2020 to Dior PC (politically correct) they took the most classically sometimes daring scents and used the most user friendly synthetic versions to make boatloads of money. Instead of Dirty Patchouli >Clearwood, Cedar > ISO E Super, Oud > Cashmeran etc etc it does sell well but devoid of character, if Dior Homme 2020 was a man it be the equivalent to the nice stable guy who never escapes the friendzone. Whereas the Original is a ooh I wonder what you smell like during sex.

Dior homme 2020 smells like nothing. Literally thats the smell of nothingness. No character. Just a very bad creation. Even if it came out with a different name. Obviously something's going wrong at the Dior house. Personally i lost faith on them. Now, lets see what Chanel will come up with. I hope not another Blu. Also boring. It seems creativity in the designer game is long gone. Nice video Clemence.
