Herb has lived the great American dream. He is appealing in so many ways.. from his rise to stardom to his struggles with himself and bachk to success.
Wow.....never knew anything about Herb Albert until i finished watching this video. Heard a few songs of his as a kid growing up but never knew his accomplishments with building a company and signing my other favorite group, the Carpenters. Amazing talent as a kid, teen, and adult. I also never knew Herb called up on of my favorite composures named Bert Bacharach to send him a love song so he can add it to his show, which btw hit number one. Truely a maverick, pioneering his talent and taking the bull by the horn to give us fans decades of listening pleasure. Herb was right, he was able to take advantage being around at the right moment and at the right place. Imho i believe his musical parents were a catalyst which helped Herb achieve musical greatness.
My grandfather actually worked for Mr Alpert for years outside of the music industry. I grew up listening to his albums and still love them today. He’s proven that he is an incredible talent and gifted man.
@@janeprawda5285 My dad played his albums a lot. Being a comeback trumpet player, I enjoy his music now. I also grew up with Al Hirt, Billy Butterfield, and Bobby Hackett music, all very talented trumpeters. I saw Al Hirt milling around in the French Quarter of New Orleans where he was from. But, I didn't think it was really him so I missed out!
Excellent video, Herb Alpert was a big influence on me , as a musician, i come from a old Irish musical family , my father was also a musician who played and taught me mandolin.
Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for uploading. Thank you to the producers. I wish Mr Albert all the best in life. He got on the train at the right time and is riding it high as he should. Good on you, sir

My Mom turned me onto Herb Alpert in the late 60's, thanks Mom. What a talent.
My father loved him and had all his albums. We saw him in concert once and it was so good. He really was good looking when he was younger.
Love your advice Mr Alpert! Be yourself. Great advice from a Great Talent and a lovely humble man!
