For all the Aussies out there, remember that within 24 hours of the end of this race, Steve Irwin would be dead, and 4 days later, Peter Brock would be dead as well. Rest easy to both of those icons.
It was the first time when Todd and Rick drove together so they used open faced helmets as a bit of a gag plus helped them to see down (the HANS device plus a full face helmet restricts both head movement and sight so was hard to look down)
