- The PS5 Dilemma, found a PS5 in my closet but the model number makes me worried. Now I am deciding between keeping the Fat PS5 or upgrading to the PS5 Slim by selling it.

The only motive for me to buy a PS5 is because of the drastic size reduction and how efficient the console is compared to the original design

@@YinYangTK they are more durable in general and the hardware cools more efficiently and consumes less power. The PS3 fat consoles had a lot of over heating issues and the slim fixed it. The slim consoles are not as pretty but they are way more reliable
Despite the slight temperature differences there is no performance differences between the models at all.
However if you really want to sell the console you have dont sell it to GameStop, instead you should sell it on eBay or another avenue where people who want an older firmware PS5 since those people will pay a premium for a console theyre able to jailbreak

The 1200 like the one I own is a good pick for cooling as it is considered the best at reducing temperatures. But the slim has its better priorities with a reduced size.

The 1115 model may be the “worst” model but in practice there’s nothing wrong with it. All PS5s have the same performance and overheating isn’t an issue with any of the models as long as you keep it clean and in an open area.
That being said, and assuming you haven’t opened and powered up the console yet, I think there’s a chance the PS5 you have is on an old, jailbreak able firmware. PS5s on that kind of firmware sell for around $700-$800 on eBay so I’d suggest doing some research. Its worth more while it’s sealed, and I don’t know a great way to identify if it’s exploitable, but if it’s opened, check the manufacture date on the side of the console with the screw hole for the stand or turn on the console, DO NOT connect to the internet, and check the firmware in the system settings.
If your console is on a jail breakable firmware, I’d say sell it and buy a slim model or even the Pro cause you might get enough for that. If not, don’t loose sleep over having the 1115a model, I have a few friends that have played them heavily for years and they’ve never had a problem.

@YinYangTK TH-cam it, if not you can sell it for way more because other people on ebay are hunting for those under open consoles that haven't been updated, the worse thing u can do is update it, then once sold ya have about enough money to just buy the ps5 pro , gamestop will 100% rip you off.

@@YinYangTK guides are really easy. I’d say when you turn it on don’t connect it to the internet and see the firmware. Even if you don’t you can sell it low firmware ps5 are valuable to others could get like $800 to $1000 especially since it’s brand new

For 700? With the tax? That's if you don't get a bundle or the PlayStation anniversary set. They compared the graphics and all, and it all looks identical. But either way anyone would be satisfied.
