  • Part 3 of the "Game Changing Comping" series. This lesson for less experienced and intermediate jazz guitar players teaches a highly effective approach to voice leading and interactive comping using major family chords. Want to get better at comping without the hell of "10 thousand impossible chord shapes you'll never even use"? Watch this video.
Includes: 2 basic chord shapes you'll need, 2 basic scale patterns, countless possibilities, and an interactive backing track to hone your comping skills.
Teachers: check this out as another way of introducing comping.
If you are a beginner, the minor chords video is the simplest place to start: 👉 • Transform your playing...
Then the dominant chords video is second simplest:

This is the third installment of the "Game-Changing" comping series. I've covered Minor family chords, Dominant Family chords and now Major family chords. Here's my full playlist of videos about chords & comping: th-cam.com/play/PL7rpRGIFiyXS5qr0IAzrOXtTo5DLB3I1G.html

I've gained so much from these simple ideas, and my technique has improved. Can you follow up with a video where you voice-lead the different chord qualities in a tune? Preferably not Autumn Leaves. I think that would help tie everything together.
