Hey, quick note on your secondary latch, the down rod is indeed different sport to non-sport, the reason is the grille is taller on the sport. You said you had some spare parts from the truck you got the other grille off of, any chance you grabbed the secondary latch when you got the other grille? The only thing that should be different would be the down rod.
Totally replicating this mod on my rusty 01 and I called lmc they said it’s the same part. I said send it anyway just in case. I asked if it’s the same part number they said yes. But I’d believe you over them.
I'll be ordering a new hood from LMC truck soon because when I decide to install my sport grill the sport bracket would not let me reinstall the original screw's to hold the bracket on so I had to get creative with self tapping screws.
Great video, I picked up a '01 4X4 for $700 that needs a lot of work, but once I get the engine running right and get the interior done, then it's body work, paint, and then dress up like yours...
Hey man, where'd u get ur hood? I got 98 ram 1500 ext cab, laramie. It's 4x4, looks decent and it's got 33's, 33x12.5x15. Just some basic black steel, 15" rims. Anyway, truck's black & looks ok w the 33's but still tryin to do couple new things for better lookin truck! Ur hood looks good, IMO, it's not tooo much but is more than the stock one I got! Thx

I've seen other people talk about doing it and having a similar issue like you with the latch being too short since the sport grill hangs down a decent bit more. just trying to figure out of the housing is necessary or not, thanks!
I have before. I know this comment is 5 years old but, my experience with it, wasn't very good. Yeah you can make it fit, but I had gaps in the top of my grille In between it and the grille. I couldn't figure out a way to fix it

I cannot seem to find a definite "Chrome Sport" bumper anywhere. I just now learned that the Gen 4 bumper swap was an option and that the sport grill was that considerably different.
I have the same grille and have been tooling around for a few months with a stock bumper it looks horrible with out the proper bumper. What parts for the 4th gen front bumper are needed. I know you need conversion brackets a front bumper but there is metal supports on the inside needed also . Do you know what they are?

Chris Sensel yes from amazon but I'm running xenons in them so they are plenty bright enough. I blind people on the daily
