2nd Gen Cummins Build pt 4- Sport Bumper & Grille swap

Welcome back everyone! We are back on the second gen Cummins. This video is about the swap from the standard front bumper and grill to the sport front end on my 99 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. I picked the bumper off Facebook marketplace for a steal of $150. I sanded everything down and got it painted up so we could get it wrapped up. The sport grille bracket and latch I got from the local pick n pull, prepped them up and painted them as well and the grille itself came from amazon. There's 6 main bolts holding the bumper to the frame with 2 side supports that come off with 2 more bolts each. I used the same bolts to install the new bumper. The grille bolted to the hood with the same hardware that was on the truck but needed some bigger bolts for the lower grille mounts. All together the overall swap was really simple and I recommend it to anyone that is interested in doing it yourself. the fog lights plug into the same mounts but since I had pods I had to buy a new set of fogs.

Nice work .. I have a 1998 12 valve that I put a 2002 sport front end on , and had the truck painted base/clear ..

Thank you, yea one day we will repaint it and bring it all back to white but I think we might wrap in yellow next

Thank you! Oh yea, when they fell I was pissed and thought I just wasted all that vinyl but I took a deep breath and started back at it in small sections and made sure the horses didn’t fall again. Definitely happy I kept going, it’s not perfect but it works for me!

Do the sport bumper brackets work for the conversion or did you have to buy some aftermarket mounting brackets?

Did the fog lights from the sport bumper work plug n play with the original fog light plug ins?

@@gavin5.684 I believe so but I had the original ones cut off because I wired in the pod fogs with the old bumper. I clipped a pair of plugs off a sport truck that was in the junk yard, it was the same truck I got the grille support and hood latch off of.
