The best wide receivers of all-time are a Quarterbacks dream. They become a Quarterbacks safety blanket as they usually pair their elite athleticism with reliable hands. This list is based off the best WRs overall statline, talent, and impact on the teams they were apart of. These are the top 10 Wide Receivers in NFL history.
Please like and subscribe to spread the word about my countdowns and turn on post notifications to know when I post a new video. It would be weird if you agreed with all of my opinions so let me know what you think about the order of my lists!
Do you agree with this list? How would you rank it differently?
Largent should be in the top 5, at the number 5 spot. Best hands in League history! Go 'Hawks!
Owens should not be ahead of Larry Fitzgerald.
Where is Tim brown top 6 WR of all time
Edward Guertin agreed
andre johnson should be on this list
Calvin Johnson is the best I ever saw. Rice is the GOAT. But what Calvin Johnson did with a bad team. Unreal.
But they never won the Super Bowl
@Can you fly bobby productions neither did u
Agree, the most talented and dominant. Remember going to see him in college at the Gator Bowl. Calvin aka Megatron was unreal.
@@JoeyWoodpine69neither did me or u
Yeah but Stafford is a gunslinger
I knew Julio would at least be number 11
Wait he wears number 11
Hes the 11th best wr cause he wears number 11 🤣🤣😆😆🤣🤣😆😆🤣😆
lol 😂
That lateral by Moss has got to be one of the top plays of All time!
Jerry Rice played in an era where teams still ran the ball ALOT. In an era where defenses could still tee off on the QB and WR down the middle. Head hunters were allowed to do bad things to the offensive players. Post 2000, Qbs, WRs and offenses got soooo much more of an advantage, its almost a different game. Jerry is the GOAT by a mile. He did it in a tougher era.
Nobody:

What’s crazy is Julio missed 11 games one season and still had 12,000 yards in 9 seasons and is prolly only 2/3 of the way done with his career
logan prost FAX
boy I don't care boy
crazy legs
You act like he is only person to deal with injuries.
Calvin has missed more games and still has crazy numbers and retired still in his prime.
@@thomasc.5219 Calvin missed 9 games in his career
Larry is #2 for me…
Man almost single handedly led ARI to a SB title…
And his playoff performances are greatness !!
He almost single handedly led ARI to a SB title, but he didn't.
And unlike most of the rest, he had shit QB play for most of his career. Best hands in WR history.
It’s good but Julio over Irvin and probably hop too
nah
its even julio and d hop even
actually
Julio should be like top 7 at least
Julio doesn’t have a better legacy than Michael Irvin
he does julio better
00:30 I don't know why but that commentary sounded great
Imagine Megatron being higher than Steve Largent but still not getting in the NFL 100
Steve largent was way better. Calvin was a playmaker
its cause this list was made by one guy and NFL100 was selected by a committee. Being able to talk it out and agree brings a better opinion out.
Rip Cameron Boyce If you take an average season of Largent in his prime (1978-1986) , Largent would be averaging 1,150 yards and 9 TDS. In today's NFL those numbers would be worse than Devante Parker's, and he didn't even make the Pro Bowl. Please stop giving him credit because he's old. His numbers are very below average and the fact that he made the NFL 100 Team over Megatron, Julio, and TO is beyond me.
@@alexreis7394 you're an idiot.
From 1978-1986, Largent had 607 receptions, 9,781 yards, and 73 touchdowns. Let's compare those numbers to THE TIME HE PLAYED:
Leader in receptions: Largent
Leader in receiving yards: Largent
Leader in receiving touchdowns: Largent
Those numbers don't compare to today, but they were excellent for his time (and still pretty amazing today!!). When Largent retired, he was first in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. He still CURRENTLY ranks top 10 in receiving touchdowns! He retired 30 years ago and nowadays numbers are accumulated like nothing!
Also, from 2007-2015 Calvin was seventh in receptions, first in yards, and first in touchdowns. Calvin's numbers look better, but was not even as statistically dominant as Largent for his time. Julio is second in receptions, first in yards, and eighth in touchdowns from 2011-2019 and Terrell Owens was fifth in receptions, second in yards, and first in touchdowns from 2000-2008. None of them lead in all three like Largent. Just because they don't have better totals, does NOT MEAN they are better. It's super idiotic and shallow to say that.
Please be have a little common sense before you try to prove someone wrong with a ridiculously fragile and stupid argument. If I had to guess, you're no older than 20.
@@Patrick-tt3ig lmao I dont know much about either receiver but your comment was gold.
Man I’m a tech fan and a falcons fan so I’m torn between Julio and Calvin Johnson
They are both so fun to watch so its hard to pick but I liked calvin better
I like Calvin in his prime better but I like Julio career wise, it's so close
Megatron was such a beast 🔥
The Vikes have some good receivers man. Moss, Carter, Diggs, and now Jefferson who has been statistically better than Moss the first 3 years of their careers. Oh and let’s not forget Theilen who tied Megatron for the most consecutive 100 games in NFL history.
I honestly think AB should be on here(yeah really). The guy was absolutely unstoppable and the best wide receiver in a league with Julio Jones and Larry Fitzgerald and a lot of other great wide receivers. Other than that, really great list.
I think dez bryant shoulda been on here
Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with you on AB! If it was my list, I'd be bumping at least a couple guys off this list to make room for AB!! lb for pound, as good a receiver as their ever was, period. However, he's also in the top 3 all time biggest bonehead idiots to ever play, decision wise with his career
I’d absolutely add Antonio Brown to this list, probably top 5. For about 5-7 years he was the closet thing to Jerry Rice numbers we’ve ever seen. He was clutch when it mattered most, no one came close to stopping him aside from Jalen Ramsey for one game. Terrible person but absolutely the best WR we’ve seen in a long time.
Hell nah
@@marqkuisphillip2295 thanks for the great insight prick
I definitely think AB and Julio should be top 10, they were so dominant
@Nolan Dunn Then how do you justify Calvin at #5??? Come on now
@Nolan Dunn AB is a 4 time ALL PRO, more all pros than half of these guys
3 of the best receivers of all time played for the niners at one point in their career
I dont know i personality think that larry fitz is a top three receivor of all time
This is comong from a seahawks fan
@@aidanthomas4412 you are right
Awesome channel! I love the format of the ranking
There’s a bunch of people in the comments who have no idea about retired receivers the only wide receiver today who is worth putting on the list is Larry Fits and not Julio he might be one of the greats once he finishes his career but there’s a bunch of people who are thinking Julio has a better legacy than almost everyone one on this list
SteadyCheetah dude Julio is definitely gonna be a top 5 receiver by the time his career is done. He could have a couple Super Bowl rings by now if the falcons knew how to hold on to a lead. I’m a falcons fan so call me biased but people sleep on him more than u would think. He has broken many records and is on pace for breaking a lot more, and keep in mind he missed 11 games in one season. Not only this, Matt Ryan is different from other quarterbacks he doesn’t target his star receiver every other play. Larry Fitzgerald is a hell of a player and not only did this video put him ahead of Julio, so did the fan rankings. No one knows who will be better when they both finish their careers but I’m banking on Julio
KangSan Kim calm down this list is based on right now there is no doubt Julio will be a top 10 receiver when e finishes his career or even top 5 but he just hasn’t yet
Yeah your opinion becomes invalid because you’re clearly a fan of the opposing NFC South so you’re gonna say that.... if you actually go to Julio Jones‘s stats he has 12,000 career yards receiving and Calvin Johnson has 11,000 Julio Jones has probably some of the best receiving catches of all time not to mention he’s faster...also Julio Was a Heisman running candidate in college...I’m sorry bud, but Larry Fitzgerald is so unimpressive compared to Julio
Mark Curtis by your statement your basically saying Julio is better than Calvin because he 1000 more yards than him and then you’re saying he’s better than Larry Fitz when Larry has 5000 more yards than him and then by your knowledge Odell is the best receiver since he has good catches and John Ross is the best because he has the fastest 40 time
Mark Curtis and heisman in college doesn’t matter in the nfl Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Johnny Manziel
, and Rg3 won the heisman
Larry Fitzgerald should be at least #2. Nobody has done more with less than he has, and he has the greatest hands in NFL history
Ive ben scrolling through these comments for 2 hours and finally someone understands. Fitz number 2
Calvin Johnson
Megatron had less. Larry at least made it to the playoffs, Calvin Johnson retired early because the lions havent won a playoff game since 91. At least Larry made it to a Super Bowl
@@skinfluithero4885 he was also the primary reason they made it to that super bowl. He went 4 straight games with at least 100 yards and a TD, finishing that playoff run with 546 yards and 7 TDs making big plays in key moments
I agree, being a native of Pittsburgh my objectivity may be questioned!!!🙏👌🏈✨👻❣️
1. Jerry Rice: Best ever route runner, most complete route tree ever, best runner after the catch ever, most clutch receiver ever.
2, Randy Moss: A freak of nature. The fastest WR ever, the biggest deep threat ever.
3. Calvin Johnson: A freak of nature: Had the best vertical of any WR ever. The best jump ball catcher ever.
4. Terrell Owens: Excellent route runner, the 2nd best runner after the catch ever, the toughest receiver ever.
5, Steve Largent: Best hands ever, 2nd best route runner ever, best ever at diving catches.
6. Antonio Brown: Excellent route runner, great hands, great runner after the catch.
7: Sterling Sharpe: Knew how to get open and knew how to catch. WAKE UP HALL OF FAME!
8: Larry Fitzgerald: 3rd best hands ever, superb runner after the catch, improved his route running and tree as career progressed.
9. Michael Irvin: Made big plays in big games and the most competitive WR ever.
10: Cris Carter: 2nd best hands ever, best feet ever, best sideline reviver ever.
11: Julio Jones: Big and strong with strong hands. Knows how to use his frame to create a catch radius. Great WR in traffic.
12. Tim Brown.: Put up big numbers despite subpar QB play.
This is About Spot on only maybe 1 or 2 people I would change
Randy Moss Fastest WR ever. Tyreek Hill am I a joke to you???
Antonio brown over fitz?😂😂 u wildin dawg
Yes your list is bullshit
Larry has the greatest hand ever
I'm here to see where Steve Largent is ranked... number 9? Ehhh, a li'l low, in my opinion, but respectable!

I'd put him in my top five

I know that this player isn’t doing the best right now but what about Antonio brown he was an outstanding wideout and to me go into the history books
Yes as the greatest 🤡 of all time
All these 8 year olds saying Julio should be top 10 got me questioning my faith in humanity
LOL
Nah bro it’s the Andre Johnson that have me worried
One said OBJ should be number 9 , one said MegaTron was number 10, one said Moss was number one, One said Davante Adams should be on the list, one said Julio over Larry Fits and one said Antonio Brown should be on the list
SteadyCheetah Julio does deserve at least the 7th spot
JCB grow tf up Julio doesn’t deserve a top ten list he barely even deserves an honorable mention go watch highlights of other recievers
maybe it’s because i’m a lions fan but i think megatron is the best wide receiver of all time. maybe not stats wise but he was so physically gifted it’s unreal.
I agreed with most of your list... however I would only disagree with Larry Fitzgerald at 4. .. I would put him at number 3 over Owens for sure... Think about how scary this is: he has the second most receiving yards all time with a career full of backup quarterbacks throwing to him!! Imagine if he had a Steve Young or a Joe Montana or even a Kurt Warner throwing to him at least most of his career.... He would have obliterated Jerry Rice's numbers. And other than anquan boldin for 3 years, you never had a legitimate number two on the opposite side for any long period of time throughout his career...which means everyone knew he was the only threat on the field as it pertains to the receivers... And he still put up the numbers he put up!! The one-year he had a pro bowl quarterback throwing to him in the playoffs, he only broke multiple playoff receiving records that still stands today on his way to a super bowl... He has the second greatest hands of all-time behind Jerry Rice.. PERIOD!
Tim Brown got snubbed. He should definitely be on this list.
Tim was fantastic but the question becomes who do you leave out? I mean I despise the Washington Redskins but I could make an argument for Art Monk being on this list. What about Lynn Swan? Or Drew Pearson? Or how about James Lofton or Andre Reed? Obviously nobody is arguing with Rice being at the top of the list but there were a lot of great players that didn't make it on to this list which is honestly just somebody's opinion anyway.
Wide Receiver is my favorite position
I have Calvin Johnson at the very least #3 of all time. I can only understand the argument for Moss and Rice being considered better than Megatron. He was something very special.

Jackson Cryer, Oh yes Calvin Johnson won so many Superbowls.......oh wait, but at least Randy Moss did.....oh he didn’t either so shut up
Arctrooper 5555 Larry Fitzgerald had a great team for quite a few years, and he actually never won a Super Bowl you know? He never won. So I wouldn’t use Superbowls as an example
BigSplash FTW, So did Randy Moss in 2007 and yes there were exactly 3 years in when Fitz could have won a SB in 2009, 2014, and 2015
0:45 craziest catch I’ve ever seen
Chris Carter is the most underrated receiver of all time
Cris Carter has the best hands in NFL history that’s a fact. Larry Fitzgerald would be the only other one I would call close. I love my Vikings and Cris Carter hopefully Larry joins his boyhood team for one more year. Skol Vikes!
Tim Brown 🤔
Michael Irvin was fearless across the middle on the slants too.
U buggin big dawg Julio top 5
Idk about that maybe later on of his career but I don’t think right now I think it’s ok if he is at hm
Agree
How jit u trippin
I may be biased bc Calvin is my favorite player of all time but I hate all the Calvin hate. When I’m looking at “best receiver of all time” - I’m not looking at the longest career or the highest stats because of long careers. I’m looking for dominance. The player that everyone shakes in their boots to think about guarding..and I think Calvin is so disrespected in that regard. One of the strongest receivers, with some of the best routes and speed, and he was 6’5. If he didn’t retire at 30 just because of health, I think he has potential to be the best receiver to ever grace the game, and if I’m picking a player for an all-time team. The only person I’m thinking about as “unguardable” that’s arguably better than Calvin is Randy moss. Rice had such a long career with crazy stats, Calvin played less than half of that and just watching him you can tell he’s the most dominant player on the field at all times. Not to mention everything he did was on one of the worst franchises in history with a winless season and Matthew Stanford at QB. Compared to Rice and Miss who had Montana, Young, Culpepper, Brady, etc.
If the dice were rolled calvins way, I think he goes down as the greatest ever
😢...... this comment is truly amazing 👏🏽
Put Calvin at number 1 then put Randy Moss and Jerry Rice behind Calvin
#CalvinJohnson Calvin is the G.O.A.T of receivers

Largent turned into Atwater against the Broncos! Talk about something you'll never ever see a WR do again!
Lance Alworth needs to be on the list. Best receiver in the league 6+ years in a row
Jerry Jones teammate in college
Absolutely not. These receivers in the modern day being Fitzgerald, Moss, TO, Cris Carter, and Harrison would smoke Alworth everyday of the week and that’s not naming some other big ones in the decade.
@@brendanmayhew6280 bro he ran a 9.6 100 yard dash and had great catching skills. If he played today he could still be a superstar which is incredible for someone who played in a completely different era that limited the potential of his position.
@@matthewlehr505 no way he has the leaping skills of Moss, TO, Calvin Johnson or Cris Carter. I get he’s in a different era but come on man no way he’s top 5 you know this. Top ten is a stretch for him. Great player sure but not like these new guys I’m sorry.
@@brendanmayhew6280 I think our disagreement comes down to a different school of thought. I think it comes down to the fundamental question of “Why was player x dominant”. Most people who denounce older players say the quality of play was worse which is true. However it is important to ask why was the quality of play worse. While I’m certainty not an expert it is obvious that there are multiple reasons. 1 reason would be that the pool of talent was smaller due to racism, less popularity and less financial incentive. This reason diminishes the legacy of older players. Reason 2 would be that equipment, coaching, rules, dieting etc give players today an advantage over older players. This leads to the conclusion that yes lance alworth and others would be less dominant today but they would have a better environment to increase their potential thus their skillset would be greater.
Rice and he did it with class and style
If Larry and Jerry said he’s the best then he should be number one.

- Winning NFL-Man of The Year (1980)
- 2 Second-Team All-Pro's (1973, 1979)
- 4 Pro-Bowl's (1973, 1978, 1979, and 1980)
- Leader In both Receiving Yards and receptions in 1973 (67 receptions for 1,116 yards thats an 16.7-yard average)
- Member of the NFL 1970s All-Decade Team
- Member of the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame
- Member of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame
- Member of the Florida Sports Hall of Fame
- Apart Of the Eagles 75th Anniversary team
- And finally Harold Carmichael is apart of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020
Carmichaels all time stats are, 590 receptions, 8,985 receiving yards, and 79 receiving touchdowns
Julio is definitely top 10 all time
Landen Sewell Fax
Landen Sewell maybe when he finishes his career but certainly not now

Jackson Cryer
Fuck yoooouuuuuu
Nobody likes youuuuu
Jackson Cryer Are you 12?
Did they just say that Owens is better then Fitzgerald??? No friggin' way... not a chance
Yaaas Jerry rice
Yea he really is top 3 Football players of all time. Many have him number 1. 197 TD 's. Dawg dats nearly 200 for a mf dats catching it not passing it. Many say da GOAT is Brady, Some Say Barry Or Jim Brown but honestly It really may be Jerry Rice fr fr.... No mf is close to 197 TD"s & Over 22,000 Receiving Yards.......... Rice may be da true Greatest ever
I know 49ers4life
Your Right I Guess We Can Just Forget About Steve Smith.
Lynn Swann?
He is one of the most underrated Wr of all time
Ow did you miss Don Maynard. Retired with more receptions for more yards than anyone who played the game. Little swagger but all grit!
Hopkins should be a HM
ikr
No he shouldn’t
Is he top ten in any record at all
larry fitz is better then to.
Noooooo, just cuz u didn’t watch him doesn’t mean he isn’t better than someone
Hate how numbers are the only reason people put Jerry at 1.. he has a great team. Megatron is the best receiver I’ve ever seen, ridiculously talented and a mismatch against everyone
Largent didn't have stick-um or gloves and caught everything
And his quarterbacks weren’t great. (Kreig was always hot/cold.)
Pretty good list but Larry Fitzgerald should not be over megaton
In what planets Larry has 127 TDs and 17 k yards compare to Megatron 81 TDs and 11k yards
I hate the raiders. But I think it's an injustice that Tim Brown is not in this list.
With that said. There still isn't anyone greater than the GOAT Jerry Rice!
Those questioning Jerry Rice at #1 (there aren't many, but...) are like those who question Michael Jordan. If you'd seen them live, there'd be no question who the GOAT WR is.
Megatron and Cris Carter are two of my favorite wr
Megatron was a genetic freak. He is what you would build if you were able to build a wr. Carter is almost the opposite - slow and fat. God damn it if he didn't catch every darn thing thrown his way. Best hands in the NFL. Both iconic wrs.
I'm sorry Owens is not a better wide out then Fitz. Owens was a better athlete but Fitz was all around better. Better hands, better routes, better stats, better blocker.
