My grandad played me Kaleidoscopic Vibrations in 1985 when I was aged 6, it's effect on me was immediate and everlasting, Perry/Kingsley remain one of my favourite guilty pleasures to this day. To hear an homage to that particularly silly style fills me with genuine joy, thank you.
Alex, the way you do your modular tracks, are they repeatable or once off happy accidents that you have a some what funnel vision of what is going to be an outcome? My approach to the way I make music is, set it all up, do the sequencing, let it go and see what comes of it. I am just interested in your workflow, as we have seen with other more rigid pieces that you have a set goal, I am wondering if this is a little more flexible due to the gear behind it? As always, wonderful watching what you make for us, always entertaining as usual.
If we ever enter a nuclear holocaust and zombies run rampant looking for brains, there would be a variant of these zombies who were former synthesists and they would be wandering the broken landscape looking for "knobs" and Alex would be their king. It was a sad development when I learned that Herbert Deutsch (a musician and teacher with whom I was acquainted) passed away in November 2022 - and a dubious piece of news that Moog Music as Dr. Moog reshaped it in 2003 is now being absorbed into InMusic, a conglomeration that also includes Akai. Are we headed for a situation not unlike when the original Moog Music was sold to Norlin Inc?

If there is a goal in the field of being a musician and being a youtuber at the same time, then you have both achieved it and absolutely nailed it: Interesting and entertaining videos seasoned with a large portion of expertise, a lot of humor and a lot of musical skill are more fun than 90% of all other, pure marketing videos.
Also in agreement to one other comment down here, Bananas could serve as fandom animation meme material, ostensibly centered around tropical scenes. That being said, Alex, will you also consider dropping down with the band Lovejoy (led by felllow internet personality Wilbur Soot) just for a fun collab track someday?

Getting a Moog Modular or even borrowing one is a tough hunt. For a bit less money, Club Of The Knobs and Synth-Werk make clones. You can even buy a IIIP from them if you wish! But still, as much as I desire one, it feels like an uphill battle to even obtain it. Nothing compares to the dynamic range and low end 921s or 901s can produce. It’s not a sound that software can fully replicate or replace.
I actually collect Moog Modulars. My first synth was a Moog System 35, I found it at a Goodwill for $10. I wasn't really sure what it was, but I soon found out that I could make music with it, so I plugged it into my cheap Sears cassette recorder and made multiple silly albums with it (Bananas is a lot like something I would've made with my friends when we were teenagers)! I still have the hundreds of tapes I recorded between the ages of 13 and 18!
Great demo, Mr Ball - makes me wonder: did you have access to patch sheets specifically for the Model 10? There's very little to be found online about it specifically, and the beautifully bound Moog Modular book that it comes with is not something that would qualify as a quick start, innit ;-)

There's a Model 15 recreation from Moog on the iPad and it's awesome. Well worth the money for those who got curious about this synth.
Might I add for those who care, Moog’s are still made by hand in the USA and you can even visit their factory in Asheville NC.
