@bashdamonkey it's amateur Sumo so they're allowed. This will never be the case for Grand Sumo that happens only in Japan aka the professional Sumo. Plus this is one of the first times I see a clay Dohio in international Sumo so that's pretty cool.
Could just be lack of training. Some countries don't have a full sumo program so they enlist people from other sports and try to make it work. I see many try to learn on the fly.

I'm not sure either. Could be illegal strikes. He did press his forearm into his opponent's neck but idk
