They hold the tree all the way down to try and not bust the tree when it hits the ground. If you let those just fall they will shatter. There's something so menacing about how the saw cuts through the whole tree almost instantly. It's awesome

Everyone does it different I suppose. I have never run one so I can’t really have an opinion on that haha.
