Got a question…what happens to the trails when ver the steep spots as far as rain and erosion.? Y’all out there are at the tip of the spear in loggin industry and always 1st ones with a plan ands why you can sustain tracts like you do and lot more people respect the forests as they know it’s moren likely to feed and shelter them in some form or fashion…im from eastern Ky coal country and AML projects been reclaiming old mines and the one above my house the highwallls already showin where water has washed the slope back away and big rock and waist deep ditches is alls on that area…feller has cattle there too and no way they can graze there..

Madill great Canadian company invented on Vancouver Island in the city of Nanaimo many years ago.I wonder how the pecker poles would be used.That kind of timber used to go for pulp almost exclusively.Now I guess the mills have been retooled to handle small logs.Maybe you get some 2x4 out of it

YES fuel and Oil. Supply is Not Allways arms length.
I would be too worried about fuel eating plastic and it gumming up my fuel lines. Guess I'll give it a try
@@Sudz1911 In General I Would Wonder that Myself. Because that nature of plastic isn,t really for Solvents etc. Some of the Loggers on West Coast use the Idea. Outside what ya said Makes sense depending upon unless ya have your main Supply at Arms length. And Most of Time it's Not that close.

Where at in Western oregon is this
The majority of this footage is around the Willamette valley.
I like these type of videos, showing people hard at work doing jobs they love to get up and do. But the only thing that made me chuckle is at the beginning they showed a kenworth log truck hauling a load of nice pumpkins down the logging road, but they show the harvester cutting trees that are not that size, but do realise that when they logged the old growth, they left small trees as seed trees to reforest.
Yeah, this is footage from a bunch of different jobs. The bigger trees on the log truck are second growth. Every piece of land in the video is likely already replanted, or will be planted this fall.
That is a very nice and neatly done shovel logging side
Those guys are pros! Not a lot of guys out there that like to be in the hot seat cutting like that with a shovel on their asses but they did it very well.
