Harvey is the reason why I fail in my wife's expectations. He's a tree surgeon, outdoors man, builds Shepherd's huts AND can arrange a bunch of dried grasses into a thing of beauty! 🙄😁
Aw yet another dreamy video. It transported me away from my skanky old town; at the end I looked up and, just for a moment, saw hills instead of roof tops and I thought thank you Athena.
I have been having a rough few weeks (university stress and being back at home) and this video has just brought me so much calm and peace, and I feel ready to go off and have a good old fashioned reset day in nature. Thank you, Athena, Harvey and Oslo - sending positivity and hope for this new chapter in your lives. You inspire me every week!
In a world full of anxiety and stress your videos are like little islands of tranquility to escape to for a de-stress. Thanks for the hard work you put in to making quality content. I feel the same about your videos as you do about Joanna Jinton’s.
Another great vlog. As much as I love and dwell in the lovely Peak District, I’m now having Cumbria envy. Well done showcasing the beauty of what we have close by. And stop it with that baking it’s too tempting and I’m weaning myself off after previous lockdown😁. Thanks
I haven’t commented on a TH-cam video in years. But I here I have to, I’m only a minute in writing this and I suddenly feel comfortable and content. I’m so grateful for your videos, lockdown hasn’t been too difficult for me compared to others but recently I’ve felt very disconnected and isolated not being able to get outside as much but your videos really give me a sense of peace. So thank you and congratulations on your new home! Can’t wait to get outside soon and explore some of the locations from your book I got for Christmas!!
A beautiful place to be, I'm sure. I've only admired those fells from the Dales but I've also heard them referred to as the 'Gateway to the Lake District'. All the very best.
Thank you for another beautiful video and good to see Harvey too. Loved your item on the wool clothing. It’s such a beautiful natural product that we need to use more and not waste, so happy to see it promoted. Glad the move has boosted your creativity - this means we will get to enjoy more beautiful content 😊
Another great video Athena. Enjoying my Saturday morning coffee while watching it. The new landscape is just as beautiful, and there are some trees! I got interested in your videos because of hiking. I’m also interested in the food there as well. Our food in America is over processed, and it’s much more expensive to eat healthier here. I like how you prepare for walks & hikes. Thanks for taking me along (I did manage a short hike in the Smoky Mountains last week). AND I received my copy of the Peak District Ramble Guides book yesterday. Thank you! 🙂❤️
Your new home is so warm and cozy. I love waking up on a Saturday morning to see a notification of a new vlog from you. It really gets my day off to a great start. Beautiful scenery around your new home, so calm and peaceful. Great to see Harvey again . Loved Oslo having "a moment " on top of the hill.. .he is just precious. You, Harvey and Oslo are such a great, little family, full of love and contentment. Harvey hinted of some new upcoming projects, can't wait to see what you two are up to next. Thank you for sharing. Now I'm going to bake today, your cinnamon rolls looked delicious !! Have a wonderful weekend. 🤗
Love the new cottage..so cute and cozy! Beautiful hills for walking and the bird sounds just like the woods out back of our home. Yay Spring! I’m sure the yeast was bad in the sticky buns ( that’s happened to me also ). I keep it in the freezer now until I use it just in case and seems to help that. 😉 great vlog as always!
Sat on the sofa with a cup of tea and toasted fruit loaf watching your video, what a lovely start to the weekend :) I'm glad you've found somewhere that suits the three of you so well
When my grandmother is baking and she wants something to rise she puts a towel over it and then under her quilts in her bed. I do it too and everything always rises! Try it ❤️
Hi Athena. I once met a guy near Honister Pass while walking up Dale Head & he was dragging an aniseed soaked sack behind him on a length of rope. He said he was preparing a route for the Trail Hounds to follow. Thank you for letting us into your home which you have looking so lovely. What an idyllic picture. Look forward to sharing good times with the 3 of you. Take care mate xx
What amazing timing for a video. Having a relaxing self-care morning, nothing better than this video to go along with it. Thank you Athena. Hope you’re settling in well to the new cottage. ❤️
It goes without saying that your new home was going to be a stone cottage in the country. Nice. Be good to see some new walking videos soon, but do take care. A lady living in my county was stopped by the police a couple of days ago and issued with an £200 fine for 'not having a reasonable excuse' for being in the area. On her own at a remote country road junction in the middle of nowhere. I had been for a 'stay local' walk the day before, drive ten minutes and walk for five hours. I checked on my Strava and my furthest point was much further from my home than she was when she was stopped! My brother really appreciated your book. He said it was beautifully written and very well presented. He lives near enough to the Peak district for a day walking trip so he will get to use it much more than me!
Hello to you both. Haven’t commented for a while but it’s so good to see you two settled into what looks a super cosy cottage in a truly beautiful area. I think it’s great Harvey got involved again with the vlog. Good luck and keep the vlogs coming they are something to look forward to each week.
It is lovely to see you so happy in your new home Athena, and good to see Harvey again. I'm sure you were right when you said Oslo was probably thinking of his earlier life when having his 'moment' out on the fell.
What a lovely video. The cottage looks super cosy and all three of you look right at home. Those hills are stunning too, plenty of great walks to be had.
You guys are so good at decorating and making your place homely! Oslo looks like he is having a ball, glad there is an off - lead area for him to run wild. Enjoy exploring your new surroundings. We are all looking forward to the upcoming, sumptuous footage!
love your relaxing vlogs, what a great way to start the weekend especially as we are still in lockdown at the moment. Wish you both a very Happy time in your new home, all the best, Hugh
It is so nice to see the room where my ramble guide has been sent from! I read through it by candle light tonight during ‘Earth Hour’ so I felt very calm in the process. (I nearly didn’t buy it because I walk the peaks a lot, but so glad I did as it’s full of lots of useful information and is beautifully presented). Wishing you so much love in your new home, and thank you for the calm moments your videos provide x
Great video as always! I love so much when you cook!!! I don't cook, but used to watch cooking show and you replaced them now! Again, nice to see that you went from an amateur videographer (doing so part-time) and now that you have professional-quality content you're slowly transitioning to doing that full-time! P.S. I love your new home! Cheers from Canada!
Such a great video & your new spot looks so lovely! Good job on the move by the way...I’ve still got a couple of boxes in the garage that need to be sorted out (two years later) 😂 Xx
Oslo so reminded me of my German Shepherd Bruce. He does exactly the same, goes off and has his own moments. I would love to know what he's thinking. Good to see you both settled in now. I can imagine the cottage is going to be filled with some amazing baking smells.
The new house looks wonderful Athena! Cumbria is my favourite! We live on the suffolk Essex border at the moment by the sea but I can imagine living full time in them their hills one day! All the best!
I love cook books. Your Sister has good taste. I am so happy for you & Oslo. You still have a warm & cozy cottage, with Harvey's added touch. Surrounded with beautiful scenery to hike in. That was a really good hefty picnic you packed for you & Harvey. The bread looked delicious Athena. Did you make it too? I am going to have some homemade chicken salad on a piece of wheat bun for breakfast. Your video came on at 4:05 a.m Eastern time. My biological clock is adjusting to the new time. We spring forward 1 hour. I really enjoyed your video.
Such a nice video. You've made your new cottage lovely and cosy. Oslo's having a moment, priceless 😄. Looking forward to videos from your new surroundings.
Hi athena. And welcome back Harvey Home starting to take shape lovely But sorry to say. We've lived in this house for 21 years now and my lovely wife still moving Stuff about. If you get up during night MUST put light On or you'll fall over something that's been moved( lol) Lovely video as always thank you. Take care. Old dave
Your new home looks well cozy Athena, and the surroundings are stunning. Oslo looked like he enjoyed his walkies, good to see Harvey back aswell. Look forward to the next one 😊😊
Glad your settling in,the cottage looks lovely and the surrounding area looks amazing.Looking forward to getting to know The Howgills with your vlogs.🙂🌈
Love your new place. We really love your vids even as we live on the other side of the Dales. Thx for sharing. We love your new location-so much of the Lakeland style fells with 1/2 the rainfall. 💯🙏
What a beautiful spot and your cottage is really coming together:). Like you said in the other video you guys have the touch to make any place feel cozy and like home very quickly. Greetings from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia 🇨🇦
Hi Athena So glad you're settled I m a bit sad you left the Sheffield area It was special to me but new chapter now An equally beautiful place to live so be happy and keep safe all of you I will be watching and know you will provide great content as always
Congratulations on your new home. A beautiful video as always. Im checking out that shirt as it looks so gorgeous on you and a forever piece in your wardrobe.
I'm so happy every time there's a new video from you 🌱 all the best for the new home, it really seems so cozy and welcoming already 😊 oh and happy late birthday!
My In-Laws live in a property called Howgill presumably because they can see the Howgill fells from there house - beautiful place. Good luck with the new place.
Lovely video again, Athena and Great to see you settling in. It’s a lovely area, we know it quite well, as I said before my wife’s family, Sedgwick, go back a long way in those parts. I bet you are pleased with the wood burning stove, all you need now is to pick up, when you can, the present I sent to the cafe in Eyam. All the best for the future. John
Congratulations and beautiful filming as always. If you should chance upon Bush Howe and fleetingly glimpse a Black Horse etched into the hill, look away and it's gone but don't be alarmed it's only "Dobbie" playing with you......is it natural or is it manmade, amongst locals it's a magical thing.
There are some remains of a mansion in Akay Woods along with a walled kitchen garden. There are some American Redwood trees in there too. Near the entrance gates in the corner of the sports field there is a really ancient Oak, some reckon over 500 years old. There are no images or maps of the mansion, apparently the owners went bust in the Great Depression and it was abandoned. Most of the stone was "re-allocated" by the village.
Thankyou for the coffee... Deer Hill... is so smooth, will get around to Under Milk Wood soon too... Being 20 minutes away from Dylan Thomas Boat houseI have to try it really don't I
Happy to see You being so full of positive energy and leading a simple satisfying life Wish I could have a nice cottage in the Lake-district, make money working from home (or having a decent Airbnb-business) for lovely walks...far away from the rat race and the 9 to 5 office life I think You make a lot of people dreaming of Your lifestyle...

Brilliant relaxing video, nice to see Harvey back. Building shepherd's huts must be really interesting, I would like to have a go at one, one day, (just about to make a wooden canoe). All the best, Harvey.
Beautiful video. The new house looks gorgeous, love all your nick nacks. Do you know what the song is that's playing when making the buns? Sounds like Shawn colvin
Harvey is the reason why I fail in my wife's expectations. He's a tree surgeon, outdoors man, builds Shepherd's huts AND can arrange a bunch of dried grasses into a thing of beauty! 🙄😁
hahaha! I am very lucky :)
I wonder if he’d build me a shepherds hut for a backyard office/craft room :)
Never seen him cook though.
An insight into what life can be like if you want it to be and if circumstances allow - all the best and look forward to more from you 👍
Aw yet another dreamy video. It transported me away from my skanky old town; at the end I looked up and, just for a moment, saw hills instead of roof tops and I thought thank you Athena.
What beautiful surroundings! Had a smile because of Oslo having his “ moment” so adorable of him. Maybe sweet childhood memories? 💚🌿🌸
We thought so!

Ah yes that's what Oslo was trained to do! And the reason we can't let him off the lead too often as he can jump over high fences!
What amazing timing for a video. Having a relaxing self-care morning, nothing better than this video to go along with it. Thank you Athena. Hope you’re settling in well to the new cottage. ❤️
A perfect start to my Saturday. Your new home is beautiful. Wishing you much happiness there and the building of lovely memories🏡
I love the dried grass arrangements and love how you film the changing weather and countryside. Many thanks:)

Your hikes are always an inspiration and motivation for my hiking journey and I have documented them as well
Keep it up 🌹

Another relaxing cost vlog! 👍🏔
That cook book looks amazing and just right for one of my friends, that's her birthday present sorted 😊
Congratulations on the new house! I am on. Keto diet and would die for that bread. Be safe and stay healthy! Thanks for the video.
John
Nice to see the three of you settled, especially Oslo. A video of Shepherd Hut building in the future would be good to see if that’s possible.

Lovely place and nice to see the area a bit. Enjoy!
Happy to see You being so full of positive energy and leading a simple satisfying life
Wish I could have a nice cottage in the Lake-district, make money working from home (or having a decent Airbnb-business) for lovely walks...far away from the rat race and the 9 to 5 office life
I think You make a lot of people dreaming of Your lifestyle...
Looks like you’re settling in really well. It’s so good to see you exploring your new area. It looks amazing. Happy (belated) Birthday 🎁🎂🎈💐
So nice to be taken on a walk with you both and Oslo.
Ask in the village Tourist Information shop if they would stock a few of your books for sale or at least post an advert.
You must pop into the Charity Shop on the junction of Main Street and New Street. They get lots of interesting stuff there.
Good that you like reading, they don't call Sedbergh 'Booktown' for nothing.
You will love Farfield Mill if you haven't been yet.
Glad that you are settling in. Oslo has obviously come home! I guess you have already found the Three Hares and I would also recommend Kitridding Farm Shop and Tearoom - just beyond Kirby Lonsdale. Great pies!! They also attend Orton Farmers Market when it is going - you also need to go there! I could smell the cinnamon and they still looked lovely - if not up to your high standard. Looking forward to more vids!
What a perfect start to my weekend. Just got back from a long walk now sat down with a coffee and the most relaxing vlog 😌. Ps I'd love to know where you find the beautiful music for your videos
I use Musicbed (link in the description!) :)
Your home looks so cosy. And what a beautiful place to live.
Love the video. Can't believe you've only just moved in, it looks so homely and settled. BTW Arrant Haw is pronounced 'hoar' as in hoar frost
I can definitely recommend the seaweed sourdough at More Bakery, I use them a lot at home and work.
There vegan desserts are bloody lovely too!
Enjoy yourselves in the new home!
And that Wainwrights book of the howgills is such a good read! It's lead me up The Calf quite a few times.
Your bread lots very tasty and what a lovely place to live... Will keep a eye out when I'm walking around the Howgills.
It is said " as one door closes - another one opens" , your move was meant to be. Opportunities for writing new books etc, take care , regards : David
Love that quote
Lovely Athena - looks like a good place for landscape photography. I like the Woodland and the river. Could you identify your house from up the hill? Take care Janet
Owh WOW 🤩 you are landed near Sedbergh...........😃 most beautyful spot in the Dales !
Good luck in your new home. The Howgills are amazing.
So great to see you all so happy. Looks like the ideal location! Jo and Mike Fraser
