EXCELLENT BUILD. CAUTION...always keep your load as LOW to the ground as possible when traveling with it. You never want it high when its moving. Its center of gravity is above your capacity. Good Job!
For some reason I thought this was gonna be something to make with the kids, then I saw the welder come out haha 😂😂 great fabrication skills, looks easy but it actually takes a lot of knowledge, practice and patience!! Great build 😀
It's a great idea and well executed. One caution, though. The cable hand winch are designed for one direction (pulling in). To use them for a controlled lowering of a load requires disengaging the ratchet pawl, and the only thing stopping uncontrolled descent is your hand on that crank. It can spin your hand around and get away from you. The mechanical advantage makes the handle spin very fast, a common cause of injuries with this type of device.
@@fawabros That may be so with a light load, but the manufacturer's safety instructions, included when purchasing this type winch, state: "Never release the freewheel clutch with any load on the winch". (releasing the freewheel clutch ratchet pawl would be necessary to lower a load with this gear type winch). Using another type cable winch, such as a "worm gear drive", that has no ratchet release, would allow safe and controlled lowering of even heavy loads. The crank is made to work in both directions, raising or lowering, and there is no ratchet pawl disengage. The load is always fully controlled by the worm gear both raising and lowering and you can let go of the handle at any time. These ratchet gear cable winches are made only for lifting, and not for lowering.
@@practicalman45 If it is a brake winch, this problem can be solved. Our brake winch is specially used on small cranes. At work, you can remove your hand from the handle at any time.
@@practicalman45 why are you being a hater? didn't you see the pipes on that dude? Popeye won't even mess with him, I mean, it takes power to lift a 20lb concrete block, and a giant empty cardboard box.
This is great Thank you. I have to build something to move a handicap person in a very small space. I think this is how I will build my lift. I will use 7mm for added safety. Thank you and God bless you. You have no idea how much good you do.
@@fawabros I went to a metal supply shop and found the 5mm you chose to use is plenty heavy so that's what I got. Now the next step will be to get rollers. Do you think it would help if the legs could extend the length or spread apart for a more stable base?
Not too sure ,but it looks like you put those cable clips on backwards. The "U" bolt always goes on the dead end. Very nice fabrication skills. Nice paint job too.
Nice job, very clean an professional. Don't think I'm going to make one, too much work and time. I have couple of 1/2 ton hydraulic tables, good enough for loading and unloading to my truck.
Gracias mi señor que buen video excelente muy bien explicado todo, lo haré en menor proporción para subir mis mercados y encargos a un tercer piso Dios lo bendiga
Everything about it is extremely clever but the one thing I would have done is welded that hook closed…but I don’t know what kind of loads you would be putting on it. Really good!
Beautiful work! But I haven’t found a forklift of this design that will pick up a standard pallet. It only works with an open-bottom pallet. This forklift would split a two sided pallet into bits. You always have to raise the pallet off the floor and put blocks under it, and then crank the forks up a bit before pushing the forklift under the load. That’s a deal breaker for me. But if you always set the pallet down on blocks, it can be done with this design. I’m concerned that the forks aren’t long enough. Thanks for your marvelous craftsmanship! Feeshy
The only way to do that without having a huge counterweight would be to make the base wide enough to straddle the pallet. Apart from that, this design is a little light to safely lift much on a pallet, the base and forks aren't long enough, wide enough, or strong enough. That said, it's a great design for small, relatively light lifts, i'm probably going to build one.
