Put the sweetened condensed milk in a pot of warm water before opening, then pour and watch how easily it passes thru the funnel. Remember, warm only not hot 😉

Even better if you mix them both together in a large mixing cup then pour them into the bottles after mixing together

Even better if you mix them both together in a large mixing cup then pour them into the bottles after mixing together. It would have took about a third of the time to pour it into those bottles

I see where some people just use condensed milk on top of their shave ice and then I see this technique with the evaporated milk and simple syrup. This is my first time making cream for shave ice and im curious which of the two ways do others prefer best?

    • @thehaddocks

I don't like the just condensed milk on it. I like it where it's not so thick and sweet because it's supposed to add to the flavor of the shaved ice, not take over. Thanks for showing how this is made.

Do you only make sweet cream or do you make any other creams? I see it is suggested you can make "coffee cream" "coconut cream" "cookie dough cream". Also it last you a week, but do you know the shelf life if stored in the refrigerator?

Yes we have made coconut cream:

@@dinsk49 Get some 5.5 x 5.5 x 12 commercial kitchen tubs (plastic). You can get them from sams club or any food supply store, they are about 5-10 bucks each. I use purified jugged water to make my blocks. Each mold holds about 1 - 1.25 gal of water. It takes a normal sized chest freezer about 2.5 days to freeze the block solid. then once frozen, run some warm water over the outside of the mold and it will pop free. then just slide it into your ice bag and put it back in the freezer.
If you buy molds from southern snow or snowie you will pay twice as much or more than you would if you bought the molds from sams or a food supply store.
