It is a must have treat whenever my family visits Maui. Thank you for educating us the difference between a shaved iced and a snow cone. Love from Canada
Hi there!! Just found your video and am so excited to make some shave ice! Can you tell me the name of the powder you are putting on top? I heard azuki bean and sweetened condensed milk but I’m not sure how to spell lihi mui(?) Thank you!
You don't want to have the syrup too thick, as it won't soak into the shave ice OR have the syrup too thin, as it will all soak to the bottom. That thickness looks just about right.
Ono Hawaiian Recipes Mahalo! I really wanna learn how to make Rafute & soki for my Okinawan soba! I was thinking Andasu for my musubi would be pretty good too! 🙂🍜 🙏🏿

Our pleasure!
I have been looking for a shaved ice machine for ages! Excellent recipe - it makes me wish that it was summer already. Thanks!
If you own a Kitchen Aid mixer there is an attachment you can get for it that makes real shave ice.
Is this procces the same for other fruits? Like mangos n strawberry’s
Yay! Thank you so much! It is so hot, I can't wait to try this recipe! Mahalo!
It was so hot this week...ranging in the 100s! It was so nice to eat shave to cool down.
Looks so goooood.
I love this Kamigori !
Can I please have the brand for the ice machine 😊🙏🙏🙏

Thank you!
Love a good shave ice. Perfect for the hot weather here in Hawai'i!
Great treat to cool down with 😊
What's the reason to heat up the juice?
To thicken it
Looks good, mahalo!
I never knew there was a difference between Hawaiian shaved ice and the ones state side. This looks more appealing and won't hurt my teeth. 😅
My husband's teeth also hurts from eating the snow cones. He loves the shave ice cuz it melts in the mouth 🤤
Yum! You should do a guri guri recipe. :)
Yup! I'm planning on it 😉
I just buy 100% juice and mix it 50/50 with simple syrup...
Where can you buy this shave ice machine
It should be in the description but here's the link as well: amzn.to/2YqMhHL
You can buy a manual shaver ice maker for the home! Cheap and portable...
Nice!!... In Brazil we have something like that, "Raspadinha" (little shaved)! 😁😁 Mahalo Sis!!
Ohhh I learned something new today! Thank you 😆
Do you heat it to kill off bacteria??? Because I don't want a thicker syrup...

One of my favorite treats from my Hanabata Days! Could you do a recipe for Rafute (shoyu pork), andagi, soki, andasu, or taco rice? 🙂🙏🏿
Sure thing! I also have the recipe for andagi on the channel.
