Yep, along with most of the other major auto manufacturers... Ford wasn't the only one with EVs during this time period, mainly due to California's original Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate. There was also the Toyota Rav4 EV (1st gen), GM EV1, Honda EV+, Chrysler TEVan, Nissan Altra, etc. As well as multiple other smaller companies that built EVs on glider chassis, like Solectria and US Electricar. One can only imagine where we'd be today if the original ZEV Mandate hadn't been repealed...
They're pretty tough to find, there's probably only about 3-400 left ( about 1/4 of which were exported to Norway). I found this one locally on Craigslist. In running condition, with an upgraded battery they sell in the 8-14k range depending on how nice they are... In not so running condition like mine they go for 2-4k, but I managed to get quite a deal on mine at $1,000 ;) There will be a video going up soon from another TH-camr where I do a walk-around with him. His channel is Out of Spec Motoring (he recently broke the EV cannonball record in his Model 3, and stopped by the shop where I work to film a couple videos before making his way back to the east coast). th-cam.com/channels/yIzTVZNIAMY9JhzKc-rriQ.html
@@AlexEVRepair Just got one for $4,500 that has four miles of range... I had nothing to compare it to, but it was worth it to me. Glad to know I wasn't screwed too badly :)
Alex, consider writing a book about EV vehicles, especially aspects that pertain to evaluating used ones prior to purchase.
👍👍
Cool to see another ranger project. Suggestion for future videos: better lighting, maybe a gimbal with a light on it?
Yeah, the shop is definitely a bit dark inside... I'll try to see if I can set up a bit better lighting in the future.
Nice project !
I had no idea electric rangers existed until today. Were they exclusive to california?
👍🌟👍
Imagine if ford had kept investing in this technology where they’d be today

My buddy just bought one of these with no batteries. Where would you get batteries for this car?
