Having spent two years working on a RAV4EV and recently on a Ford EV I know it all takes time but am wondering how is it going. In the first video you had what looked like a toyota Rav 4 in the back ground was that an EV.
peter luckham Haven’t made much progress. I actually put the Red truck here up for sale to try and raise some cash to get a battery pack for my white truck. I would love to have a 1st gen RAV4 EV! I currently own a gasoline powered one (1997 AWD with manual transmission). The shop that I work at actually does a lot or work on the 2nd gen (Tesla powered) RAV4 EV, so I have a lot of experience with those cars. I’ve actually been working on un-bricking a Roadster battery at work for the past few days now.
I've been looking to purchase a Ranger EV for about 6 months and haven't had any luck finding one in the wild. Do you have any suggestions where I could look to find one? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
They're pretty tough to find. I'd keep an eye out on any sort of auction site like Copart, IAAI, etc., as they do come up on those sometimes. That and of course Craigslist, and the like as well. There is a guy up in Eugene OR that specializes in fixing these up, and he has a huge stash of parts he bought out from Blue Sky Motors. I would imagine that he's probably got one or two around that would be for sale, or may know of someone else who has one. If you want to check out his site it's rangerelectrictrucksllc.com

@@Peterjk94210 I actually sold both of my Rangers last year... Just not enough time, money, or space to really work on them. The red one in this video went to a fellow in the midwest, who last I knew had gotten new batteries for it, and the white one went to Germany to join a small collection of other rare EVs that a guy has over there. Hopefully in the not too distant future I'll try to pick up another project, time and budget allowing. I do still have my old "Kawashocky" from way back that I intend to redo one of these days. In the meantime though, I stay plenty busy fixing up other peoples EVs, haha.
In California, EVs can only qualify for HOV stickers one time, and once the stickers expire (like the white, yellow, and green stickers have), you can no longer use the HOV lane with only one occupant. Each sticker has a number associated with the VIN on the car, so once that VIN is in the system, it no longer qualifies for a sticker... There’s actually a site where you can check the VIN to see if the car has ever had an HOV sticker.
