      I don't know if it's an effect so much but how are those detailed floral type designs made? Ones like with curling lines that sometimes have varying thickness and also have leaves or flowers at the end of swirls. They seem so complicated to me.

    the tutorial starts at 6:02 (for anyone who's used Photoshop before)

      It is however very important you don't get any color bleed from the background. Usually it doesn't matter, but here you really care about the color of the edges.

      @RupeeRhod 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      And you wanna watch it by spamming the right arrow key, there is no reason for this being 26 minutes long.

    • @HippyNZ
      @HippyNZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      like many videos, they waste time on stuff you should already know or could get from a separate video so they can stretch a short tutorial into a lengthy one . in this case 26 minutes instead of 15

    • @YesImaDesigner
      @YesImaDesigner  5 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Lance McCaughan I am not intentionally stretching (see what I did there?) the video's length. Longer video is more work to edit and refine. If I wanted to I could show this technique in 5 mins but that would only make sense to more advanced users. I am trying to explain everything so that even beginners can learn from it and recreate the effect. Like you said for more advanced users there is always the 2x speed playback option or the right arrow shortcut to skim through bits they already know.

    One thing I like about your tutorials is the easy well-built language you use , somehow you manage to speak with easy English and in the same time your words seem eloquent , this really attracts me as an Egyptian as I not only got benefited from the tutorial but also enhances my English 😊

    Not only the technique and process itself, but also all the little hints and tricks are short but well explained, very concisely, no disctractions. Even though it is a longer tutorial I watched it in full lenght without feeling the urge to fast forward. Thanks for this very good tutorial!
    If you grant me a wish and you have time to make another video: I'd like to see how to make the trails circular with a kind of an unregular fading/ending effect for the different colors. I mean different trail lengths for the different colors if you know what I mean.

    Neat stuff. When you made the stretch and found you still had color streaks/bands because your original mask wasn't perfect (before warping), couldn't you just marquis-select the striped black area and just fill it with solid black to get rid of the 'extraneous' colors? Or blur them, or whatever.....?

    If you really want to work "None destructive" Might i suggest making your girl selection a "Linked smart object" rather then a "smart object". Then instead of merging your duplicate layers... you turn all of them into a smartobject. The advantage would be if you ever need to change her sweater & socks from yellow to purple. You can change it on the linked file and it will change your entire pixel stretch at once.

    A slightly different but not as good technique is select the subject then select->modify-> contract -> delete to get an outline then erase the other parts you don't care about then blur or wind blast. Blur tends to do too much averaging and transparency though.
