(Dhoo’l-Qarnayn) said: ‘This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. The word "Until" is preposition & conjunction which in Arabic is Hatta. You can not use half the verse starts from "Until" as it will be misleading. Is it not that the criterion for prophets is that their words must fulfill to the letter? Last time I checked a videos of this channel, this was the way Jews determine if one's a prophet and one's not. So, if the prophecies of the prophets are not literal, doesn't that invalidate the way Jews use to test if a person is a prophet or not? Clearly, the prophets mentioned in the Hebrew bible are not just accepted but also revered across Jews, Christians and Muslims. So, this definitely is problematic regarding rabbinic assessment methodologies.
Shehroze Islam great question. The prphecy having to come about to the letter, is when testing a prophet. Ones a prophet is tested and accepted, I think he could speak in allegories. We, muslims, are going through a similarly difficult period and I think that there is a great lesson in the Jewish history. In fact there is an ayat in the Quran that says: "And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs." (32:24) It would be very nice of you if you could point out some video, audio or reading materials which are not very difficult to grasp for laymen like me.

Even though Jews came back to Israel and built the second temple, Jews never got the complete Independence. Their country was controlled by either Greeks, Persians or Romans. G-d had mercy on us and returned us after 70 years (since destruction of the first temple) to our land, but we never regained the previous glory. At least, not yet.
I am sorry but I think you have misunderstood me. By regaining glory, I meant that children of Israel turned to Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) and established His religion and laws even though they were overpowered and through their steadfastness and piety, they received mercy and glad tidings from Him. There is a similar analogy in Islam with regards to Adam (PBUH). When he was sent to the earth for his mistake and was humbled, he repented repeatedly for it and so Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) showed mercy on him by guiding him and giving him glad tidings of the garden of perpetual residence or paradise. In case of the Jews, I argue that it was a just parallel to what happened to Adam (PBUH) but at a collective manner. The children of Israel wronged themselves, Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) punished them for their transgression and humbled them. The children of Israel realized their mistake and repented towards Him. Now, this is very crucial because without that repentance and steadfastness, there would be no glad tiding of the coming glory of the everlasting kingdom. And that repentance and steadfastness, I think was, in my opinion, the greatest moments of your nation and a lesson for every repenting nation to come that seeks the mercy from their Lord.

I don't think all Jews repented. Only some good. In fact the prophet Ezra (pbuh) had to instruct the Jews who got intermarried with the pegans, to send away their wives and children. However, the verse you've sited are translated a bit different by a Jewish source. Gog and Magog are not Turkish people - this is incorrect. Gog/Magog are descendants from Japheth, Turkic people are not descended from Japheth. Japheth's descendants are mainly the European populations. Gog/Magog are European people, probably from the German area. Ashkenaz was also a descendent of Japheth who settled in the region of Europe which is now Germany. Germany is where many Ashkenazi Jews come from. I would say that Gog/Magog are a mixture of either western, central or eastern Europeans. It makes no sense whatsoever for Gog/Magog to be Turkic people.

They will drink (every drop of water they pass by). The people will resort to strongholds. And, Gog and Magog will throw their arrows towards the sky. When they come back to them stained with what looks like blood, they will say: ‘We have defeated the people on earth and those in the heaven as well.’ Then, Allah the Almighty will send against them worms in their necks that will kill them all. Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W.S) said: “By Him in Whose Hand Muhammed’s soul rests! When they reach the Mount of Khamr in Jerusalem, they will arrogantly proclaim: 'We have conquered the people of the earth, now we will annihilate those in the sky.' So saying they will fire their arrows towards the sky. When the arrows return to the ground they will be blood stained. In the meantime, Eesa (A.S.) will be on the Mount of Toor with his followers. At that time the head of and ox will be as valuable as is a hundred dinars to you in this day. [This indicates the scarcity of provisions]. Faced with these hardships, Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will make dua unto Allah (to remove this calamity). Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will once more supplicate unto Allah as a result of which Allah will send down huge birds whose necks will be as thick as that of the necks of camels, and they will dump these bodies in a place where Allah wills. (According to a narration by Tirmidhi, they will be dumped at a place called Nahbal). Allah Ta'ala will then send down a heavy rain, the waters of which will flow in every part of the earth cleansing it thoroughly. It will rain for a period of forty days. Allah will order the earth to yield forth its crops in abundance and there will be such blessing and prosperity that one pomegranate will be sufficient for a whole group while the peel thereof will suffice to cast a shadow over them. The milk of one camel will be sufficient for many groups while one milk giving cow will be sufficient for a whole tribe. One milk giving goat will be sufficent for a whole family..." Adam (A.S.) will ask: 'O Rabb, who are they?' Allah will say: 'Nine hundred and ninety nine of a thousand are Jahannami while the one is a Jannati.' On hearing this the Sahaba were overtaken by fear and they asked "O Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), who will that one Janniti be?' Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: 'Do not grieve, the nine hundred and ninety nine will be Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj while you will be the Jannati."' (i.e. your numbers in relation to them will be one in a thousand). I think I may have an idea as to why.... Firstly, as Jews we generally do not accept these Christian transportations. However, I will tell you why I think the Christian translation may have confused the 'Rosh." In original Hebrew Ezekiel it does, infact, mention Rosh. Rosh in Hebrew means "head", "leader". So the question is, does "Rosh Meshech vTuval" mean "leader of Meshech and Tuval" or does it mean "Rosh (name of nation), Meshech and Tuval"?
Thank you sir for your response very insightful, However my question would be more in regards as to why the name Rosh was added into the NKJV specifically in the Ezekiel passage 38:2, interesting to note it was published in 1979 post cold war, when it was not existing in the KJV from 1611 as I understand it the Jewish scrolls do not identify Rosh in said passage either. So it was not a translation subject of name already mentioned in said passage but they (the translators of the NKJV) completely added this name Rosh into the NKJV. Also interesting to note that Rosh in Genesis: 46:21 Rosh would be from the Benjamite tribe son of Benjamin, so it would not reason to imply that Rosh would be Benjamites from Russia ready to invade Israel, or that the Scythians are Russian Gog/Magog (as some hold this view) as the ones invading Israel. I agree that Rosh is the head/cheif prince, leader, but somehow it has been taught that Rosh is Russia (simply because it sounds like Russia). If the name Rosh was in the KJV this would not even be a question but as it is, it was not, therefore one must ask why was it then added into the NKJV , and now conveniently used by many to identify Russia as Rosh? Is it then appropriate to label Rosh as Russia? who by the way their lands do not surround the coast lands or the isle. Let's keep in mind while Russia did commit some horrible atrocity's toward the Jews there, they also lead the coalition to liberate the Jews from the Nazi's, when others failed or refuse to do so at first. According to ahadith, Gog and Magog are from among the children of Adam (alaihis salaam) and they will be numerous in number. Ibn Kathir states in his books that they are from among Prophet Nuh’s (alaihis salaam) offspring Yafeth as Allah Almighty has mentioned in his glorious Quran:

According to the descriptions narrated by ahadith, Gog and Magog belong to the Turkic Mongol race, have small eyes, small flat noses and wide faces. Their faces look like hammered-out shields (their faces are likened to shields because they are wide and round).

Shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?’ He said: ‘That (wealth, authority and power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than your tribute). So help me with strength (of men), I will erect between you and them a barrier. Give me pieces (blocks) or iron,’ then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountain-cliffs, he said, ‘Blow,’ till when he had made it (red as) fire, he said, ‘Bring me molten copper to pour over it.’ So they [Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj] were made powerless to scale it or dig through it. (Dhoo’l-Qarnayn) said: ‘This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes, He shall level it down to the ground. And the Promise of my Lord is ever true.’ And on that Day [i.e., the day Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj will come out], We shall leave them to surge like waves on one another, and the Trumpet will be blown, and We shall collect them all together.” [Surah al-Kahf 18:92-99]

The word "Until" is preposition & conjunction which in Arabic is Hatta. You can not use half the verse starts from "Until" as it will be misleading. The full verse is as follows:

Is it not that the criterion for prophets is that their words must fulfill to the letter? Last time I checked a videos of this channel, this was the way Jews determine if one's a prophet and one's not. So, if the prophecies of the prophets are not literal, doesn't that invalidate the way Jews use to test if a person is a prophet or not? Clearly, the prophets mentioned in the Hebrew bible are not just accepted but also revered across Jews, Christians and Muslims. So, this definitely is problematic regarding rabbinic assessment methodologies.

In fact there is an ayat in the Quran that says: "And We made from among them leaders guiding by Our command when they were patient and [when] they were certain of Our signs." (32:24) It would be very nice of you if you could point out some video, audio or reading materials which are not very difficult to grasp for laymen like me.

Even though Jews came back to Israel and built the second temple, Jews never got the complete Independence. Their country was controlled by either Greeks, Persians or Romans. G-d had mercy on us and returned us after 70 years (since destruction of the first temple) to our land, but we never regained the previous glory. At least, not yet.
I am sorry but I think you have misunderstood me. By regaining glory, I meant that children of Israel turned to Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) and established His religion and laws even though they were overpowered and through their steadfastness and piety, they received mercy and glad tidings from Him. There is a similar analogy in Islam with regards to Adam (PBUH). When he was sent to the earth for his mistake and was humbled, he repented repeatedly for it and so Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) showed mercy on him by guiding him and giving him glad tidings of the garden of perpetual residence or paradise. In case of the Jews, I argue that it was a just parallel to what happened to Adam (PBUH) but at a collective manner. The children of Israel wronged themselves, Allah (Subhanallahu Ta'ala) punished them for their transgression and humbled them. The children of Israel realized their mistake and repented towards Him. Now, this is very crucial because without that repentance and steadfastness, there would be no glad tiding of the coming glory of the everlasting kingdom. And that repentance and steadfastness, I think was, in my opinion, the greatest moments of your nation and a lesson for every repenting nation to come that seeks the mercy from their Lord.

I don't think all Jews repented. Only some good. In fact the prophet Ezra (pbuh) had to instruct the Jews who got intermarried with the pegans, to send away their wives and children. Almost all creeds on earth speak of pre existing (free willed) races, examples: Annunaki from Sumerians, Asuras/Devas of Hinduism, Aesir/Vanir of Norse mythology, Greek Titans, Archons of the Gnostics, elemental spirits in ancient Chinese/far Eastern traditions and the hidden races or Jinn in Islam)

Gog and Magog are not Turkish people - this is incorrect. Gog/Magog are descendants from Japheth, Turkic people are not descended from Japheth. Japheth's descendants are mainly the European populations. Gog/Magog are European people, probably from the German area. Ashkenaz was also a descendent of Japheth who settled in the region of Europe which is now Germany. Germany is where many Ashkenazi Jews come from. I would say that Gog/Magog are a mixture of either western, central or eastern Europeans. It makes no sense whatsoever for Gog/Magog to be Turkic people.

Till when their appointed term comes and Allah desires to send them against mankind, they dig it till they could see the sun rays (through it) and their leader says: ‘Go back and you will finish it tomorrow, if Allah wills!’ On the next day, they find it as they had left the day before and they dig through it and come against mankind. They will drink (every drop of water they pass by). The people will resort to strongholds. And, Gog and Magog will throw their arrows towards the sky. When they come back to them stained with what looks like blood, they will say: ‘We have defeated the people on earth and those in the heaven as well.’ Then, Allah the Almighty will send against them worms in their necks that will kill them all. Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W.S) said: “By Him in Whose Hand Muhammed’s soul rests! Living creatures of the earth would go fat and be thankful due to eating their flesh and (drinking their) blood.” (Also transmitted by Imam Ahmed on the authority of Hasan Ibn Musa after Sufyan after Qatadah and by At-Tirmidhi on the authority of Abu, Awanah after Qatadah.)

"...Allah will send revelation upon Eesa (A.S.) that 'Such a creation of mine is now going to emerge that no power will be able to stop them. Therefore take my servants and ascend the Mount of Toor.' Then Ya'jooj and Majooj will emerge and surge forth in all their fury. When those from among them who constitute the former part of their army pass the lake of Tiberias (which is in northern Palestine), they will drink up all the water of that lake and by the time those that constitute the latter part of that same army pass the lake, they will say, "There used to be water here (long ago). When they reach the Mount of Khamr in Jerusalem, they will arrogantly proclaim: 'We have conquered the people of the earth, now we will annihilate those in the sky.' So saying they will fire their arrows towards the sky. When the arrows return to the ground they will be blood stained.
In the meantime, Eesa (A.S.) will be on the Mount of Toor with his followers. At that time the head of and ox will be as valuable as is a hundred dinars to you in this day. [This indicates the scarcity of provisions]. Faced with these hardships, Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will make dua unto Allah (to remove this calamity). As a result, Allah will cause sores to appear on the necks of each and every individual of these people which will cause their death suddenly. When Eesa (A.S.) and his followers descend from the Mount of Toor there will not be a single space on the land where the dead rotting bodies of these people is not littered, giving off a horrendous odour. Eesa (A.S.) and his followers will once more supplicate unto Allah as a result of which Allah will send down huge birds whose necks will be as thick as that of the necks of camels, and they will dump these bodies in a place where Allah wills. (According to a narration by Tirmidhi, they will be dumped at a place called Nahbal).
Allah Ta'ala will then send down a heavy rain, the waters of which will flow in every part of the earth cleansing it thoroughly. It will rain for a period of forty days.
Allah will order the earth to yield forth its crops in abundance and there will be such blessing and prosperity that one pomegranate will be sufficient for a whole group while the peel thereof will suffice to cast a shadow over them. The milk of one camel will be sufficient for many groups while one milk giving cow will be sufficient for a whole tribe. One milk giving goat will be sufficent for a whole family..."

Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: 'Do not grieve, the nine hundred and ninety nine will be Ya'jooj and Ma'jooj while you will be the Jannati."' (i.e. your numbers in relation to them will be one in a thousand).
Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Umar (R.A.) says that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said:

Excellent question. There is no one reference. Each law can be derived from different places in the Torah. For example God punished Cain for killing Abel, hence the law though shall not kill. Another example is that Torah says the Earth was filled with robbery before the Flood, hence the law though shalt not steal. Another example, we see that the people of Sodom practiced homosexual relationship and God has punished them, hence the law of not to commit sexual immorality. As far as not eating a limp from the live animal, there is an explicit verse where God commands us to Noah (pbuh).Etc, etc,.

From my Christian perspective, Gog/Magog just precedes the last week of Daniel 9:27 (Deuteronomy 31, 9-13, the confirmation of the Mt. In Ezekiel 39:17-20, after those 7 years come to an end, the feast on the dead bodies at Armageddon. If you look at Revelation 19:17-18, same description.

I think I may have an idea as to why....
Firstly, as Jews we generally do not accept these Christian transportations. However, I will tell you why I think the Christian translation may have confused the 'Rosh." In original Hebrew Ezekiel it does, infact, mention Rosh. Rosh in Hebrew means "head", "leader". So the question is, does "Rosh Meshech vTuval" mean "leader of Meshech and Tuval" or does it mean "Rosh (name of nation), Meshech and Tuval"?
Thank you sir for your response very insightful, However my question would be more in regards as to why the name Rosh was added into the NKJV specifically in the Ezekiel passage 38:2, interesting to note it was published in 1979 post cold war, when it was not existing in the KJV from 1611 as I understand it the Jewish scrolls do not identify Rosh in said passage either. So it was not a translation subject of name already mentioned in said passage but they (the translators of the NKJV) completely added this name Rosh into the NKJV. Also interesting to note that Rosh in Genesis: 46:21 Rosh would be from the Benjamite tribe son of Benjamin, so it would not reason to imply that Rosh would be Benjamites from Russia ready to invade Israel, or that the Scythians are Russian Gog/Magog (as some hold this view) as the ones invading Israel. I agree that Rosh is the head/cheif prince, leader, but somehow it has been taught that Rosh is Russia (simply because it sounds like Russia). If the name Rosh was in the KJV this would not even be a question but as it is, it was not, therefore one must ask why was it then added into the NKJV , and now conveniently used by many to identify Russia as Rosh? Is it then appropriate to label Rosh as Russia? who by the way their lands do not surround the coast lands or the isle.
Let's keep in mind while Russia did commit some horrible atrocity's toward the Jews there, they also lead the coalition to liberate the Jews from the Nazi's, when others failed or refuse to do so at first.

See, ez 27:13 ; psalm 120:5 , kjv. .. mesech and tubal - mesech dwells in the tents of kedar... kedar, he was a soldier, right? Cesar surrounds himself with military. Theatre, is a sphere of propaganda - see "racial, gender stereotyping" - this role, for that person - does it not have an affect in the real world, for good or bad? Question: What if GOG and Magog was actually Russia, Turkey and Iran? The people who hate you? Did you notice how they are after your spoils?
