went to Frankfurt Germany from Calgary Alberta with Lufthansa on a B777..within 30 min we were cruising at 44000 feet . it was around lunch time and at that altitude the sky was dark blue above us..could even see some stars . Magnificent planes !
its amazing that 100 yrs ago there was wooden type airplanes flying very low and unsafely. and now this. there has to be some alien technology that us normal ppl don't know about.

I flew on a 777 from Gatwick to Turks and Caicos and it was one of the most comfortable flights I've ever experienced. Even in economy, the leg room was much better.

I did a ORD to PVG flight in one of these ~12 years ago. I was sitting in that area and still today remember seeing that amazing wing flex. This video shows it well when the load hits.

Just love the “Triple 7” 300ER. My favourite plane when flying. And yes…those GE 90-115B engines are massive and powerful.

I saw this aircraft in experimental stage at the airport I used to work at and got to take a tour of the test plane before there were any seats in it. They did hot weather testing of it here in AZ. I did the fuel uplifts for the testing. Crazy to see a plane that big, just empty with wires running all throughout it.

BEAUTIFUL GE Engines!!! They scream at first, then they throttle down to a reasonable and easy whine that is completely reassuring enough to lull you to sleep. Headphones, earplugs or nothing at all in your ears should allow you to sleep easily in Business or First!

Who would want to sleep on business or first tho, I would be taking full advantage of the luxury (while being respectful ofc)
I used to take planes for 4 years to go work, Since 3 years i go by road with my car for 800 miles, i was Ok with the flight and the landing but the take off phase is the one which caused me a lot of stress, don't forget that accident related to take off are the deadliest.
I read in the Wall Street Journal that just one of these engines costs millions and the maintenance over its life is millions more.
This made me miss flying so much! 😔

Nah it’s just the wing generating lift.
You can see the same air as the engine spooled up
Is it just me or is it that the Boeing 777-300er is better than the Boeing 777x in so many ways. The 77w engine sounds better than the GE9x also the wing just looks better in general and the flaps are better shaped.

Once it took off I kept expecting to see the Gremlin appear and start pulling off pieces of the cowling and throwing them into the engine.
