    I haven't seriously had a listen to these but at the time with all Sim Audio statement amplication they did sound beautiful. What I do like is the craftsmanship of these speakers. Like a work of art! ☺️

    Great video, and thanks for clarifying the ‘V’ vs 5 designation. I really like the crimson, and also the blue. My wife tells me they don’t go with our living room, but I think that nobody will pay attention to anything but the speakers. When I get a spare quarter on a million to upgrade my system, I’ll deal with it then 🙂

    Another fantastic unboxing video Adrian 😂 this one I'm particularly interested in as I have original Alexia's at home myself. Really looking forward to your impressions of the Alexia V.
    And a very merry Christmas and safe and happy New Year to all the team at audio excellence Canada.

    You missed your chance to celebrate the season with one green and one red speaker. That would also have allowed you to clearly identify the port and starboard sides of your listening room. Finally, if your power fails, you could burn the crates to keep warm. Love your unboxing videos.

    Hi from UK! Love your channel. I am seriously considering an upgrade to Alexia V from Sasha DAW which I've had for nearly 4 years and would love to get your thoughts in a future video. Is it worth spending the extra money as it's a big outlay? Thanks and best wishes.

      I think that is the top of the line Sonus Faber. A gazillion dollars Canadian. Oops! I was a little late

    I heard these in NYC but the dealer slammed them against the wall and the bass was boomy. It was not the speakers fault but the dealer saying “this is what we do for NYC apartments.”
    I said I live in a house in NJ! Ugh 😢
    Great speakers if they are set up right though. They are amazing and one of the very best. And I know your dealer is not a bunch of pompous pricks and you’ll do it correctly.

    Are these speakers bespoke?

    • @daslaundrynazi
      @daslaundrynazi ปีที่แล้ว

      Wilson has a range of speakers that can be ordered in standard and premium colors. They will also finish speakers in custom colors if requested. I believe the finish is a single stage urethane. Videos and pictures don't really do them justice, the quality is really impressive in person.

    Can you imagine if something goes wrong with these loudspeakers? Just to re-pack em up for repair would be a bloody nightmare! No thank you.

    • @adrianlow2114
      @adrianlow2114 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The resistors on the back serve as high quality fuses, as well as for tonal adjustment. They usually fail if something goes wrong. I've never had to send a pair back to the factory in over 30 years

    These speaker has MDF cabinet , cheap , why such price ?? it has very low impedance , very low sensitivity, they move speaker problem to amplifier ,
    problem with this industry is that when they design speaker , they don't care about how to drive this load!

    • @TheDanEdwards
      @TheDanEdwards ปีที่แล้ว

      "has MDF cabinet , cheap" - MDF has desirable qualities for a loudspeaker container.
      And yes, speaker designers often demand more from amplifiers, but capable amplifiers are readily available.

    • @brentwalker3300
      @brentwalker3300 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheDanEdwards I saw a video of the factory and speaker construction. I don't think the Alexia V are made of MDF. Rather all or at least some of the enclosure is made of CNC-machined X material, which is a proprietary composite.

    • @adrianlow2114
      @adrianlow2114 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Alexia enclosure does not use MDF, neither does any Wilson speaker. Impedance is a function of the design choice, as is sensitivity which is 90dB, not "very low". The typical Alexia V buyer will usually have an appropriate amplifier.

    • @edmaster3147
      @edmaster3147 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also lean towards high efficiency and therefore low power to drive and over-simpliying the complete system. This means that decent bass drivers will need larger cabinets and big drivers. Many solustions are due to consumer wishes, but those wishes and desires create far more complications than can be solved. So I advocate the opposite path, Just buy a bigger house if you like bigger sound.

  • @edmaster3147
    @edmaster3147 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jeez, what do the look complicated and expensive. But to me they are just so ugly. And they should look at AudioNote for packaging, save some trees please.;)

    Neither of these jokers are helping the boss pull this besat of a speaker out of the crate, seriously. As an o.m. this would be unacceptable.
