      @@OldGuyHifi Hello my friend. Truly appreciate your video and thank you for sharing it with us. May I ask you a question. I also have the Audiolabs 6000A. Would you consider this an upgrade and how would you compare the difference in sound between the two. I know the inputs/outputs are different but more interested in a sound comparison. Much appreciated. Thank you.

      @OldGuyHifi  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Victor, It just so happens I have a 6000 in for review. I think at would be at best a lateral move. The 6000 has a more forward midrange presentation and a bit of a bass bump while the X-i75 might play lower and is much smoother through out the frequency range. These are somewhat subtle differences. For a deeper dive on the 6000, my review should be out in a couple of weeks. I hope this sort of gives you answer. Thank so much for coming back to the channel.

    I’m assuming that “rec out” is fixed level, so the jumpers seem to be misplaced. It is nice to see a fixed line out just the same. Some people do still have tape decks and that option makes this amp even more amazing for the price. It would be nice to have an HDMI option as well.
    The whole blue LED trend is a shame (I blame ancient Marantz designers for this). It’s too distracting. As a fan of old Sansui gear, I am a fan of green lighting. It’s must less jarring and almost soothing in comparison.
    All in all, this is a great amp for the price. Thanks for the heads up. Great presentation!

      Too many redundant ones and yet no HDMI. Fail in my book. And is COAX a big thing in Europe as I have WAAAY more optical gear than coax and that hasn't changed for me in decades and decades. If you listen to new age/jazz type music such as Arkenstone, give a listen to Hillary Stagg who played the electric harp, unfortunately deceased but left us enough of his artistry to enjoy. I don’t want to like advance paris, that was easier to say when they didn’t offer anything this cheap (as far as I know). At this price and if you’re that impressed with it then I guess I have yet another option to consider, damn you both, but mostly thanks again for sharing!

    Ed, nice review. Awesome amp. One question, around 9 minutes you show the remote to allow choosing speakers A & B, yet the back view only show one set of left and right speakers. Where are the B speakers connecting?

    • @OldGuyHifi
      @OldGuyHifi  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That was a mistake on my part. They use the same remote on another unit that has a "B" pair connection. Good eye. So far you are the only one to catch that. Thank you my friend.

      Different. The preamp used on the Galion would influence the sound. The Galion has a bit more authority. Wait my friend because I also have an Audiolab 6000A & a Cambridge CXA81 MKII in the review que. We can discuss it off line if you want.

      People would like the 4040 ( OG model or new) and gettin the Creek name out more would be 👍 for that reason. ( good peoples, great product, pricing in line and under that of the quality level)

I bet the computer you used to watch the video and write your comment was made in China. I will not allow anyone to disparage products based on country of origin.
