The wiser and braver a person is, the less they will need to “discern” trivial decisions. They’ll choose a wise choice and if it doesn’t work they’ll try another wise choice and not waste time overthinking. That’s the boring and hard way

If every decision in life has to be personally “discerned” by the individual, then that would make the generous giving of advice to others based upon personal wisdom and experience almost pointless if not flat out obsolete.
The destination is what’s important, the route is far less significant. I keep that mentality and am able to confidently choose wisely without obsessing and worrying what if…..I don’t need to read a boring book on discernment or go to a tedious retreat to help me decide what house to buy 😑 That sounds like slavery, not Freedom

I think if influential celebrity priests like this guy would spend more time exposing and fighting the corruption in the church instead of making these tedious videos and books, the church would be in much better shape and more souls would be saved. But no, they prefer their comfy careers where they can make lengthy videos and write and sell insipid/boring books about how to know what job to apply for, what car to buy or what to name your pet. How nice.😑🤣 imagine how greatly the church would improve if more priests were like Fr James Altman or the other priests who were cancelled for exposing and fighting the corruption in the church.
Why isn't everybody a farmer? I mean we all have to eat right? Or a politician? There must be some policy or law we aren't happy with. We are all called to do our bit based on the gift or talent given to us by God. The rest we simply trust to God in prayer. My humble opinion.
@@riseandshine4512 if everybody was a farmer, even if they wanted to be and even if it were necessary, the society that we have today could in no way sustain itself, because there would be no time to devote to anything else. Same with Politicians. But I think at one point in history there were more farmers and factory workers because there was little transportation services of technological services that were necessary for that society to uphold itself. Also there are countless ways to use one’s gifts that don’t necessarily involve a career. God wants use to use your gifts for good. I don’t anyone is obliged to use them in any specific way, as long as they are used for good. Also yes we all have to eat, but I think we can do that without everybody being a farmer😂 But if I ever needed to become a farmer in order to eat, I would do that 🤪
I upvoted this, because I think you have a point about corruption in the Church; nevertheless, I've read a lot of this priest, and he's good on discernment; that's what he's called to do: not fight corruption in the Church.
