  • Check out this video showing all of the features in detail in the IS: • Interesting Lexus IS25...
    In this video we take a look at Lexus' 2nd Generation IS (2006-2013). Do note that this is a Japanese Import model, so it varies ever so slightly to the US/ rest of the world models. For the most part, it's the same car.

    Finally ...
    A proper IS 350 review.
    Although there are a mass amount of IS reviews, the largest percentage of those videos are about the IS250, only mentioning the IS350.
    And then add to it the fact that this video actually mentions the cooler finer details like the automatic window opening with the fob,
    the automatic seat setting with the fob, both of which i really had no idea of,
    and the automatic steering wheel, which i only saw once before, but get no mentioning in other videos.
    Those are seriously cool functions, which i love.
    I am not saying that other videos are bad in that sense, by me personally, i love those cool functions that just stands out above the rest.
    Add to that the Lexus reliability, the second hand market value ... Yah baby !!! I'm sold.
    As soon as my finances allows it, i would love to get myself an IS350 F-Sport.
    Here in South Africa prices differs between ZAR 300'000.00 and ZAR 400'000.00 , depending on km's .
    Once again, great video.
    Thank you very much.

    is350 auto gearbox on wet windy downhills requires care. they downshift under braking, and in doing so initially overpower the brake. it can catch you unaware. best to put stickshift into Sports mode and manually control gear selection. anyone else have this issue?

    This reviewer is obviously a Merc lover. I have owned this car for 1 month and travelled 1500 miles in it.
    Firstly the rear view mirror is not a distraction of you LOWER THE SEAT which tou can do electronically and set the seating and steering wheel position. Not a problem for me and I am 6 ft tall... same with the head space issue raised..... doh!!
    Ergonomically the set up and controls are spot on... like the design and controls were built around the driver for convenience.
    Great features like keyless entry, puddle light, voice command controls for audio/sat nav/speed dial, paddle AND gear lever gear shift in auto mode, 6 CD changer are features that reviewer failed to mention. And there is plenty of space in the cabin!!
    Against - de misting windows is poor. Could do with a rear windscreen wiper.

    • @sammygoris
      @sammygoris 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Great I Am I’m not a Mercedes lover, but the level of refinement in some areas is not as classy as a Mercedes. I compared it to Mercedes because it is typically best in class for its luxury cabin. I absolutely love this car and have owned 3 of them.
      Cabin wise - it is very small. It is definitely on the smaller size in its class. The problem with the drivers seat is that it can’t be lowered very low. That’s the problem. I wish the seat would go lower. I have driven many cars, and this car and the Subaru Impreza both have very low rear view mirrors.
      Those are just minor comments, I still think the car is best in class overall, and there are so many more features that I should’ve mentioned in this video.

    • @thegreatiam6849
      @thegreatiam6849 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sammygoris Thanks for your reply :0)
      I disagree that the cabin space is small. Perhaps it is smaller than the mercedes you are comparing it to but at 6ft I think that there is plenty of space for the driver and front seat passenger. The rear cabin leg room is smaller than can be expected but I assume the car itself is smaller in dimension overall compared to the mercedes you are comparing it to?
      The drivers seat can adjust low enough for me at 6ft so that the rear view mirror is by no means an obstruction.
      As for the features that you did not mention it is a pity, as I felt that overall the review did not put the car in a positive light and to say that the car is the best in its class did not come over in the review (perhaps I missed this comment).
      Thanks again for replying. Much appreciated.

    • @sammygoris
      @sammygoris 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thegreatiam6849 No worries. Yes - there is plenty of space for driver and front passenger. I agree. That's nearly every car in the world. But that's not the point. It's the rear set leg room, especially if someone tall is driving. I highly doubt you can fit 4 6' people in this car with ample legroom and comfort, because it's a compact sedan (not full/mid size). A4/C Class, Infiniti G and 3 Series are all fairly small, but I've driven all of them and the IS definitely feels the smallest and most snug. And, if I wasn't clear in my previous comment - when I said I love this car, I've had 3 of them, I was referring to the Lexus, not C Class! I nearly bought a C-Class, but went with another IS instead. If I could go back and redo the review again, there is as lot I would change, you're probably right that it doesn't depict my true thoughts on the car. Alot of the statements are true, but I would definitely put more emphasis on certain areas. Appreciate your feedback.

  • @tobygray497
    @tobygray497 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    For a 5 8 guy, it looks like you have the seat way too high for you and that is why the rear vision mirror seems to low and you are too close to the A pillar. I have one of these cars and I'm 6 1 and have way more head room than you appear to have. Just lower the seat!

    A little late to this video, but it astonishes me that Toyota actually sells the 250 and 350 at relatively the same price, but I actually just recently found out there was a 350 model. The 250 model was all I ever seen, and it pushed me away with its lack of power, dull presence, and compared to the other big luxury competition, I never thought of getting a lexus. But cue the 350, definitely an amazing car, would not have traded mine for a g35, or even g37. Have been looking into the cadillacs, you should do a review on one of those if you can, mainly the cts. Keep up the good work.

    Fun Fact: The JDM IS350 cruise control can only be set up to 118km/hr, and they only make ~245hp to the wheels (I dyno'd mine. It's RWD) so ~280 to the crank. Lexus' numbers are WAY off

      Have you sat in one/test drove one? I think it could be doable, but probably not if you are driving people in the back seats frequently.

      Thanks for the reply, I have not yet but I'll probably just use it for work and would ride solo most of the times. Can you use regular fuel grade for this IS?

      SLAAMIT I had a friend who is 6’4 daily drive an S2000. I’m sure a 6’2 guy would be fine in an IS350 lol. You’d fit, but your head can hit the ceiling if you sit straight up and down and sit back against the backrest (which no one actually drives that way, we have a slight slouch).
      And you can only use premium fuel. It’s a very high compression car.

    What if I change the Engine into 1.8 litre 4 cylinder? anyone will suggest me

      Will cost more to engine swap and to convert everything than to just get a CT200.

    The only downside of this car is the lack of an LSD.

    WHY THE FUCK is there no is350 in my country? we only get the is220d and is250 wich are way too slow and the is-f wich is too expensive. i would've bought an is350 a long time ago

    If you need a light on the dashboard to tell you when to change gear, you shouldn't be driving.

      Are you serious? Have you ever see an F1 steering wheel? Are you saying all F1 drivers shouldn't be driving? Have you seen literally every sports car from the last 10 years? They all have tacho's that light up when needing to shift. Nobody has ever 'needed it', it's a feature, it's a gimmick, it's something fun, like literally every feature on every car.

      @@nzcarreviews2691 Maybe you missed the word 'need' ? The car above is NOT an F1 car that redlines at 14,000rpm...its a street car. So you can drop that analogy. Essentially, what you did was compare a Cessna 182 to a F15 fighter jet. And if you think something beeping at you is "fun", then I'm happy for you. Ive got a Lexus, and this was literally one of the first things I disabled. (because I know how to drive).
