Hurricane Milton LIVE: US President Joe Biden Visits Hurricane Milton-hit Florida
US President Joe Biden on Sunday will visit Florida after Hurricane Milton unleashed chaos in the state. Biden will be touring St. Petersburg, one of the hardest hit Florida cities from Hurricane Milton last week. Earlier this week, Biden had approved the deployment of the additional resources to Florida. Hurricane Milton has caused damages worth $50 billion. The Category 3 storm wreaked havoc in Florida, killing 16 and leaving millions without power.
Biden wrote on X , "This Sunday, I'll travel to Florida to visit areas impacted by Hurricane Milton, meet with first responders and personnel on the ground, and hear firsthand from community members as response and recovery continues." According to reports, Biden is expected to announce resiliency projects worth over $600M in Florida.
