    Hello Garry,
Thank you very much for producing such a wonderful video series on Python coding for the LEGO SPIKE Prime set (51515). I have some idea of Mindstrom EV3 but completely new to Python. Your videos are interesting, engaging and at the same time very effective for self learning; you are undoubtedly a very good teacher as well as a presenter. I will be eagerly waiting for more addition to this series.

Congratulations on 1.000.000 views! I've been binge-watching your series and now I need more. I need Garry galore!
Where do I go from here to learn the skills I need for the FLL competition? I'm talking about precision on large maps with few lines using gradual acceleration, PID and advanced stuff like the runtime library and the virtual machine module.

Thank you! It has been a long journey 😁 Python is a very versatile language, I suggest continuing with more Python programming skills. Another great resource is Builderdude35 who makes great engineering tips for making your FLL robot. Thanks for helping me to to a million views! Garry

@@CreatorAcademyAustralia Actually, I wanted to encourage you to do more FLL. Anyways, does this file system solution enable me to store all my working functions (e.g. gyro_turn) in a library that I can import to my other programs?

Oh I haven’t thought about that! I’ll test it out. Garry

    Hi Garry,
Really enjoyed your Mindstorms Python series so far - Thank you for making such clear, engaging, and useful content!
Can you advise where to go next if I (and other viewers) want to learn more, and take this basic skills introduction much further?
I noticed that you have separate Creator Academy website, with some interesting courses, but they seemed to only be available as in-person courses (in Australia), and for kids...
Do you have any similar resources (TH-cam videos, or other paid courses), that are available online... or can you point me in the right direction?
Asking, because I am considering a significant career change into electrical engineering... and I am trying to teach myself the basic STEM skills across a range of topics (including robotics), before I plan to apply to a University course next year... Before I fully take the plunge with a 3-year University degree, my idea was to experiment with learning the basics, such as Mindstorms. I also thought that by getting involved with interesting projects (such as Mindstorms), and possibly engineering/robitcs type competitions... this might also help when I do come to applying to Universities, to demonstrate a genuine interest/passion in the subject.
[Note - Separate to learning robotics/Python, I am also currently taking adult learning classes in advanced maths (UK A-Level Further Maths exams), plus experimenting with various other hobby electronics projects, e.g. building a radio from scratch, Arduino beginner starter kit, building a DIY games console, etc]
...So any pointers or suggestions you might have would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jay
    Afterglow Founder
[Note also - I am sending this from my work account which I use for TH-cam, much more frequently than my personal TH-cam account]

      Hi Jay,
Thanks for your feedback, it is great to hear that I have contributed to your coding journey in a positive way.
If you're comfortable withe the Python basics, then I would suggest that the next step is to do some projects that you're really passionate about. Perhaps you can learn about data and machine learning with Python or learn a new language to make games or web projects.
The great thing about programming is that once you've learnt one language like Python, other languages are easier to pick up.
It looks like you're already making great progress by learning multiple STEM skills like maths and engineering, one thing that really helped me professionally was to find a network of people who do what you want to do in your local area. Being connected to your chosen industry is vital to stay at the forefront of an industry like coding and robotics.
Build your professional network, find like-minded people and have a mentor or two who can give you good unbiased advice on your career change.
      Good luck, and stay safe!
      Garry

Thanks for your explanation. Does the file save in the hub? Is that possible that we could open it on our computer?

Hi! Yes, theoretically you will be access the text file by using other software. Garry

uhm but where is the file living? is there any way to access it from a pc? how much space can you safely consume ?

    • @CreatorAcademyAustralia
      @CreatorAcademyAustralia  3 ปีที่แล้ว

You should be able to access the files through the micropython layer. Unfortunately this is not standard usage of Mindstorms so use it wisely! Garry
