Guys. Basic rule. Anna is super distracting so don't look at her, don't respond to her questions, be super scared when she is chatting away on HER time and not bothering to move. Just pretend you are somewhere else. It will delay your loss.

Bringing out your queen at the start of the game is a really good way to help your opponent develop pieces
Because of the conversation you two had, I did a quick search and discovered that Norway and Sweden fought two short wars in the early 1800s, and were in a union as countries until 1905.
Adding...and now he knows just how good Magnus Carlson is, since MC beat Anna.
Fought many more wars than that when Norway was in a union with Denmark.

I'm barely a chess player at all, but if I were playing against an inferior opponent and they made that bad a move, I would ASK them to take it back, not just LET them take it back.
I’ve only just discovered Anna and I know absolutely nothing about chess but I’m beginning to suspect you need a chess face, like a poker face. Love watching her smashing her opponents 😂

Yeah, she really beat him up with those knights. Not being able to see what a knight is capable of is a rookie trait.
I am no great chess player but as soon as he brought out his queen and started losing tempo as Anna chased it around I knew he was doomed. Even I know that is an amateur mistake.
And then he doubled down on the one piece attack “strategy” with his knight after losing his queen. Definitely a very inexperienced player.
Yeah I don't know if he knew who she was. I learnt to defend against this highly aggressive "Scholars Mate" type of stuff in one evening when I first started playing.

Anna's technique consists of talking to her opponent to distract him so she can beat him hahaha.
Hard to tell whether the "You are playing well" while he does total BS was seriously kind, or just very subtle vicious mockery.
In Sweeden sugarcoating is mandatory. They are super friendly.

He moved his queen five times while Anna developed at least four pieces, most of which were attacking moves. He needs to review her video where she covers: 1) Check 2) Capture 3) Attack in calculating potential moves. Oh yes, also where she discusses defending one's own pieces at all times, if possible. Both of these points have helped my own game.

But now to the game, Anna says "you play quite well" but let's be honest....Snurre moved only his much to early queen around and get a punishment for that. Anna forked him with a check, she could take his rook, but chose for the pon instead....and looked at Snurrre's face at that moment. Wondering if he actually saw that or not. So she makes a second forked on the other side with a check....again Anna didn't take the rook and I thought...oh Anna doesn't want to hurt him to much, but I was wrong! She saw a checkmate coming, that's why she didn't take the rook😂 Always love to see Anna play and talk and her body language ❤

that's not brutal, if she wanted to be brutal she would have eaten all his pieces, then sacrificed all her pieces and pawns (except 2 of them) for nothing, then promoted them to knight and bishop to checkmate him

@@sebu1301I certainly hope she can. I'd expect 95% of those rated 1500+ to be able to do so nevermind those at her level. I'd actually suggest lower but it's easy to mess up and run out of moves.
@@GuardOfGaia You have high expectations. I don't see a reason why any 1500 would even consider practicing that, one of the least useful skills in chess. Somebody said, that even many GMs can't do it. But Anna is kind of a chess nerd, so maybe she has practiced it. I'm 1200 and can't even reliably mate with king and rook 😂

His second move was a bit insulting but the game was a real laugh, her chasing him around the board with one knight for a while, classic.
Anna saw his level early and took it a bit easy and was kind to give him me credit than he deserved but that's what good people do.

As a total beginner, I take comfort knowing that I at least wouldn't have made some of the baffling mistakes this guy made. He lasted 8 minutes, I'm pretty sure I would have lasted 9.
As a Dane watching this, I can tell you it doesn't really matter who you two thinks are superior to each others, you are still just fighting for second place in Scandinavia. See you on the handball court to settle it! :D

The queen moves showed he was a beginner, most chess players could have beaten him quickly, without breaking sweat.
To give him some credit Anna is very good looking and a distraction. He may have done better against a different opponent.

I have had a few people like that. They only play on computers or their phones. The board, they say, throws them off. I like the board as I have to be more attentive to it than if I were looking at the 2d representation of the board.

I'm old school too. I'm pretty sure I would play better over the board, where I can see all the pieces as solid objects that have mass and take up space.

1:06 I feel the same way about Francis (bot) as he does about Isabela. I have beaten every free bot up thru Noam but Francis beats me every single time. One time I blundered a winning position but that’s as close as I’ve gotten in over a year straight losing to the same bot.
I would be so grateful if you could do a video helping us beat Francis bot.
I'm a 900 with 2300 in puzzles. At that level, you can't make inaccuracies and must always look for tactic opportunities. Typically a move that leads to a fork and wins a pawn is enough to turn the game. I just beat Isabel bot by setting up some central tension, then moving a knight to take a pawn with check solely to reveal facing bishops because hers was undefended.
I just beat Wally bot for the first time. Basically a draw after 44 moves, but I blundered a knight and resorted to pushing pawns. Wally apparently mouseslipped his rook to the wrong file, 1 more than my leading pawn's line, so it promoted after we traded rooks. By some miracle, in 2 moves Wally went from up 4.3 to draw perpetual to losing M17.

@@cooperised simply just each respond to the other in each their native, that wouldn’t normally give rise to much obstacles between Norwegian and Swedish. Quite the everyday way of handling it. This is of course all down to making it more digestible to the English speaking TH-cam watchers, not to enforce subtitles to it, but still it feels weird to watch
