Bucktail jigs and spinners are so under appreciated. Bucktails will catch fish when nothing else will. I catch smallmouths in Wa state in 40 degree water on 1/16 ounce black bucktails that I tie about 3 1/2 inches long. Deer hair is hollow & it floats, so if you use a 1/16 oz jighead you can get them to almost suspend/ fall super slow. Definitely a old school Bass lure
Yeah I know it’s a little pricey, but hey, my indoor cats love it. I have another one that when you pop the line it winds a spring on the inside and the legs kick as it unwinds
I love "Hey, you have to match the water color" as you tie on a neon blue Extractor and it actually matches the water color, lol and gross at the same time. Up here in WI we don't have apartment ponds like this, and our water isn't neon blue, lol. Ok Chris, in my never ending quest to get you to do a cross over with one of the Googan Squad guys (fishingwithnorm or YakPak), or even Noah from kickintheirbass, I bought 10 dealer boxes of these and I told them that it was a referral from Retrobassin, they said they have been getting a lot of calls, and a few of those dealer boxes contain the last of some of the colors they have. I plan on sending you a few other lures, and if you let me know what colors you currently have I can ship some Extractors that you may be missing as well. I don't do IG (it seems like that's the preferred way for people to reach out), so unsure how to get your address, however.
Hey Retro Bassin Guy! I noticed In a couple of your vids that you use and love an old Diawa Magforce baitcaster. I have one that is absolutely identical and I love it! But I wanted to ask you a question. When I reel on my Magforce, I can feel the gears ever so slightly. It is loose and smooth, but I can feel the gears. Is yours the same way? Or does mine need lube or something? It may be just how they feel but, just wondering. BTW, it is refreshing to finally find a TH-cam fisherman that uses the same type of gear I use on a daily basis for the same reason as me: we just like it! Keep up the good channel! P.S. I like the new logo!
@@wickedwildwezt yeah right bro those 20 yr old kids up there at cabelas usually dont know much, i tried buying a simple lews combo and wanted some line put on it before i left (my cabelas is a 1 hour drive) i ask the kid if he can spool me up some line and im gonna go look around some more, i come back and he hands it to me with line all coming off the reel as soon as he handed it to me and kinda was just like alright youre all set, i walk away and tie on a lure and try to make a cast just in the store and the reel literally wont budge at all i walk it back up there and he's like aw man honestly you might have to grab a new combo because that one is messed up theres too much line or the line got wrapped around or something so im just like bro come on.. dudes cant even spool up a regular modern baitcast reel why would i ever want to bring something nice vintage quality they wont know what the fuck theyre looking at bro theyre just normal kids not 85 yr old legendary fishing experts

I would try taking it to your nearest bass pro, or academy or something and have them look at it !
